Today I had an appointment with Dr. Slaughter. Unfortunately, I forgot my insurance card on this visit. I was told that they will not see me as I didn't have my insurance card even though I said I could fax a copy of it after I reached home from my appointment. As a busy physician myself, I thought the physician would extend me the courtesy being a colleague. I'm disappointed to say that they refused to see me. Don't waste your time with this office. I arrived 15 minutes early as they requested . I then sat there 30 minutes past my appointment time when I was told there are still two people ahead of me and they could not tell me how much longer the wait would be. If a doctor's office is not competent enough to keep your appointment within a reasonable time then I don't see any reason to believe that their doctors would be competent either. read more

requested MD for full body check. received a very brief check by a PA. i left upset and will not return. a little while later I requested a written copy of what the PA said she did. it was an extensive report including genitalia check. this did not happen. this is what my insurance company was billed for. I called the office saying maybe she made a mistake and gave them a chance to change report and adjust billing. I was assured a manager would call back. this did not happen. I called another month later, told story again and was told manager would call back. no one called after repeated attempts to discuss. I didn't want to call insurance company to make a complaint or accuse anyone of fraud. I tried to let them correct error. they leave me no choice now. read more

My husband was seen here and they sent his skin sample off to an out of network lab, leaving us with a $750 bill that insurance would not cover. Every time I call they send me to voicemail and have never called me back. Stay away from this place!! read more

went for a cancer screen. they gave me a waist-length paper gown. female 'doctor' asked me what i was there for. her screening consisted of lifting my paper gown to my shoulders on my back and said 'no you're okay'. I could see she had 2 feet already out the door when I tried to ask her questions. she answered with a short 'yes' or 'no' with no further explanation. Visit was over in less than 3 minutes. they charged my insurance over $500. WOULD NOT GO BACK FOR ANY REASON TO THIS 'DOCTOR'. Would give NO stars if I could. Total lack of bed-side manner, no personality. Needs to find another profession. read more

This office was disgusting. The staff is rude. The PA I saw was abrupt and didn't explain anything to me. She acted like she gets a bonus for every biopsy. I have never had such a terrible experience with a doctors office. I am still traumatized 2 weeks later. Do not use this practice. read more

RE: Charlotte Dermatology I had a biopsy on May 23, 2023. It is my understanding I would receive a letter with the results. After a couple of days I decided to call the office, Myrtle Beach, I had no idea that when u call the 843 number, the call goes to a call center in Charlotte?? When you go through the prompts on the phone re leaving a message for your provider, all voicemails go to Charlotte??!! YOU CAN NEVER CALL THE 704 NUMBER AND 843 NUMBER AND SPEAK TO SOMEONE! What a horrible way to run a business. Never received a call back! read more

Both my husband and I have been going here since they opened. They are very professional and respectful.

This clinic is absolutely terrible at Patient care and follow up. My medication requires periodic lab testing. The clinic never helps me coordinate these tests, they simply allow my prescription to expire. When I do have the lab work done, they have never followed up and they never made any effort to explore alternative treatments. This is, without a doubt, the worst medical treatment I've ever received in 50 years. read more

I came here for the first time to have 2 seborrheic keratoses removed. Michael Asbury PA-C explained his diagnosis thoroughly and proceeded to remove them with liquid nitrogen. It was over one two three and totally painless. I'm thrilled with the results and highly recommend this practice. There was very little wait time and I felt well respected and cared for. Jonnie the medical assistant really put me at ease and was well aware of my medical history. read more

My husband Dominick went He had a few spots frozen off and because his skin is so thin It was not taken into consideration I felt he suffered in the healing process because of her not seeing this between his blood thinners and his oxygen you would think she would get it that he might be one of those people you use it a little less freezing on For older people skin I had a problem myself and I saw a gentleman and not the same person he had a woman this gentleman said that I had stress because no other way would I be itchy from my elbows to my shoulder meanwhile I have been scratching up a storm and mostly at night I showed him my medication list that I was on and he never figured out that it was my medication causing it he gave me pills for stress and a prescription steroid cream neither one worked and the medication they gave me knock me out so there was no way I could take it during the day what a waste of a co-pay and a waste of going to these doctors if they can't even look at your medication and tell if that's a problem because on the medication when I finally read it it said that it causes this type of problem and that the sun makes it worse all the stuff I told him I suffered from years to finally go to this guy who tells me I'm just stressed good job not I didn't like the woman's attitude when my husband went to her she is just as the other people said very full of herself or just not a very good people person but the gentleman to get it so wrong and tell me it was stress and put me on pills that my new doctor thought that I was like having psychotic attitudes if I'm on this kind of mess He was relieved to hear it was just from a dermatologist wrong diagnosis Because it took so long my arms are still in trouble and now I can't take anything with Advil because my body is so sensitive from taking The pills that had Advil naproxen and Prilosec all in one that caused my itch Not stress I suffered longer because of these people not figuring it out Needless to say I do not recommend this place read more

It is amazing how pompous an organization can be, I'm speaking of Charlotte Dermatology. Let me explain, first I've been a patient of their Office for several years. I have not really had over the top nor substandard treatment but it was satisfactory. So let's talk about this year's appointment, I received a call that the appointment would have to be rescheduled because the PA was not going to be able to see me due to some medical issues, understandable. We rescheduled and everything was fine. Then I received an envelope in the mail for my appointment notification but it showed a different date. To confirm this I called and spoke to a young lady whom explained that my appointment was still for the date that we had talked about over the phone. OK, after closer scrutiny of the letter I received I realized it was actually for another patient with the same last name, not good since it gave me personal information about the patient.. OK, I live about 20 miles from the office and was told to be at my appointment at 3:15 in the afternoon. Upon arriving to check in the receptionist informed me that my appointment was actually two hours prior, incorrect! Ironically as I was standing there another patient showed up for their appointment and she told him the same thing that he was late his appointment should have been 2 hours prior, was right in the same timeframe as mine, not good! The Receptionist gave me the paperwork that needed filled out and that she would talk to the PA about trying to work me in, worked me in I had an appointment! After filling out all the paperwork she returned tell me I was going to have to reschedule, very upsetting. It appears that they had some sort of glitch with their scheduling and ironically another patient standing beside me had the same situation that's not normal or by chance it's just by pure negligence of their scheduling department or somebody. of course the receptionist told me, after I explain to her how upset I was and disappointed, that she was sorry probably four or five times. Plus do you want to have your personal information just accidentally mailed to A total stranger? The snafu was not my fault nor was there any real attempt to provide real customer service the backbone of any business and yes a doctors office is a business. So my only remedy is to let other people know how I was treated and hopefully they can find someone or an office that will be more accommodating. I realize it was at 3:15 in the afternoon and it will maybe have calls someone to be late for a date or dinner, but I was in business for 43 years and I was many nights I was late for dinner to accommodate my customers. So do I recommend Charlotte dermatology absolutely not! read more

Plan to spend at least 4 or 5 hours here, the office is so overcrowded that people are sitting in the hallway. There was cold pizza sitting on an end table my first visit and bagels the second, apparently they plan on feeding their patients because they are so overbooked. I've never seen such an unprofessional medical office in my life. I question the ethics of the Dr, it's only a matter of time before someone is seriously harmed because you wait hours but see the Dr for less than 5 minutes. The walls are paper thin, you can hear every conversation which I would think is. HIPAA violation. The front desk is clueless and rude. I'll drive to MUSC but I have no faith in the competency of a Dr who has such a poorly run practice. I would never return to this office under any circumstances. read more

This practice ridiculously overcharged my insurance company leaving me with a hefty bill. I canceled my surgery after being so shocked after reviewing the first bill I received from them. They won't be getting any more money out of me or my insurance company. I do not recommend them. Try to find an honest practice. read more
