My boyfriend recently surprised me with an extravagant date night through Charm City Helicopters. The owner/office manager, Caitlyn, exceeded all of our expectations on friendliness, professionalism and the service provided. As I mentioned, this trip was a surprise so my boyfriend and Caitlyn led me onto the hangar blindfolded. Once I opened my eyes, I turned around to see a beautiful, sleek, and modern helicopter FILLED with five gorgeous blue orchids (my absolute favorite), my favorite white wine (chilled), and a beautiful bracelet. I was speechless. Not only did my boyfriend do a decent job knowing me, but Caitlyn and her team NAILED every detail. After a few pictures, we went over the safety brief and boarded our privately reserved aircraft. John, our pilot was so incredibly knowledgeable on the history and geography of Annapolis and Baltimore (I HIGHLY a suggest booking that route). Most importantly, the sky was on fire that night; although we booked this specific slot, the sunset was directly out of a fairy-tale. After a half hour in the air, plenty of time for both of us to see out of either side of the helicopter and indulged in the wine, we gracefully landed back on the hangar. I assumed that the evening was coming to an end, but Caitlyn then explained the second half of the package; dinner at Fogo de Chao. Champagne, wine, and dessert were all included with our dinner and the food was to die for. It's days later and I am still absolutely blown away by the detail that Charm City Helicopters pays to their product and customers' specifications. If you are in trouble with a partner, or want to make someone's heart melt, or simply see the beautiful history and landscape of Maryland, you MUST book a tour with this company. I travel quite a bit and have done helicopter tours all over the world. Charm City Helicopters exceeded all of my expectations and has my highest recommendation by far! PS- Hi, Boyfriend here! Our entire group was a little nervous having never been on a helicopter before. However, Charm City from the moment they picked us up on the golf cart to the moment we touched down made us feel incredibly comfortable and safe! My tip to anyone right off the bat is to make sure you read the email instructions. Don't park behind the gate (park on the street near the plant boxes) and then contact the staff who will come to the gate area to pick you up in the golf cart. They give you a safety briefing and give you life jackets (better to be safe than sorry!). Remember to stay away from the back of the helicopter at ALL TIMES! They'll help you get strapped in and into your headsets. Be aware, it can be a little tough to hear the pilot over the air traffic control frequencies and the overall noise of the helicopter. We flew in a Bell 206 and it was MUCH smoother than I thought a helicopter would be. I was extremely happy with the comfort of the ride. I got some spectacular photos as well - unfortunately they were 108MP so I cannot attach a lot of them. We did the tour from Baltimore to Annapolis and got to see the Naval Academy, the two stadiums in Baltimore and lots of views of the water. We even got to see a sunken pirate ship outline in the water! Make sure to not spend the entire trip on your phone - LIVE IN THE MOMENT and absorb it with your eyes as well! If you're on the fence about whether you want to fly with this company, you absolutely should. Be mindful that if you are flying solo, they don't guarantee your departure unless they can fill more seats. We didn't have an issue since 4 of us were going. Just READ the website and you won't be caught off guard. Also keep in mind that the staff here don't control the weather. It's clear to me that a few of the negative reviews are completely off base and just trying to be more difficult than is necessary. A few of them should even be removed IMO since they aren't even from people who actually did business with Charm City. Bottom line, from A to Z this company provided a really solid experience and I would certainly fly with them again. read more

We live in the DC area and we were looking for something "different" to do for a date night. I searched around and found them, so I gave them a call. The girl on the phone was instantly beyond helpful and an absolute pleasure to talk to. The customer service immediately shined! We did the Baltimore Annapolis Skyway Tour and we were just speechless. I have been to Annapolis a many times and I have NEVER seen that view. The aircraft was so smooth and spacious and we felt like we had our own private jet (turns out it IS a jet powered helicopter, so not far off)! I hadn't been to Baltimore very much and the history we learned on the tour alongside the view was insane. Once we took off, we were immediately on the tour as we passed Ft. McHenry. Their location that they depart and land at (they called it "the pier") is postcard worthy and almost a tour in and of itself! If I could give Charm City Helicopters a rating higher than 5 stars, I would! Just their customer service, the tour they put together, their crew, their location, their big helicopter, just all the way around class. We are spoiled in DC, and this surpassed any experience we had. Just Awesome! The tour was a gift to us by a family member to surprise a 10 year who is crazy about helicopters with his first actual flight! The awesome staff willingly played along with the story that we were just looking at the helicopters until the last possible minute making him feel like a VIP the whole time. This treatment continued with our pilot Mike who is very knowledgeable about Baltimore's varied history and land marks. The staff, well maintained facility and equipment made us feel welcomed and safe from the beginning. While we waited for our time slot Andrew (a flight medic from the organization that shares the facility) actually took a break from eating his dinner to talk with a kid and share his love of flying and helping people which greatly added to the overall experience! Looks like Mike and Andrew may have a hand in creating a future pilot! I think it shows how they operate as a whole having "neighbors" treat Charm City's customers like that. Will definitely be a repeat customer and spread the good word about our experience wit Charm City Helicopters. JUST WOW! Not just a helicopter ride! Charm City Helicopters Customer service, attention to detail, and pride in their work really shows!! I did the VIP Dinner with Helicopter tour package with the dinner at Phillips and the evening was just beyond words. I was expecting the helicopter tour to be more like a ride, but it was a TOUR narrated by the pilot (Freddie) who did an AMAZING job! The helicopter was super smooth, very roomy, and made me feel like I was in First Class! I honestly had no idea how amazing Baltimore was to see from the air. After the tour, we showed up to the restaurant booked in the package and literally couldn't have had a better evening. This place in AMAZING!! have lived in Baltimore and DC my entire life and I have never had an experience like this! Charm City Helicopters were so incredible and they made the experience absolutely outstanding! Caitlyn was the BEST and made us feel incredibly comfortable which we needed as we had never flown before and we were a tad nervous. It was like out of a movie and the feeling of being lifted into the air was unlike anything else I had ever experienced. The aircraft was spacious and the interior looked like it was straight out of First Class on an airliner! We did the 12-15 minute tour and saw way more than we thought we would. I had been looking into a tour with Charm City Helicopters for a while but didn't actually book until the morning of the day I wanted the tour. The company couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly. We ended up on a private flight and we were able to upgrade to a longer flight right there on the spot. It was amazing! The pilot was friendly and we chit chatted during the flight. The women working at the actual office were knowledgeable and so helpful. Don't mistake either of them for "office help". They either have their pilot's license or are working on getting them. Any questions you have, they know the answers and then some. I wouldn't hesitate to book again with Charm City and happily recommend them to anyone looking for a way to make a visit to Baltimore unforgettable. read more

In my opinion, Integrity is everything and this company is lacking severely in that department. Your employees need to look at your balance sheets I'm sure you'll see a issue. Offering to make a theft by your company right then taking back the offer shows how bad this companies integrity is. Then vague insinuation towards the defendants business is not acceptable. Restructure your business and do right by your customers instead of accusing them of trying to scam you. You failed to render a service and admitted it. The fee was paid by credit so cash should not of been the refund option in the first place. Your employees are stealing from you and righting fake receipts to pocket money. My wife Jessica surprised me with a helicopter tour of Baltimore and Annapolis in their gorgeous movie-style helicopter and I can honestly say it was the highlight of anything my wife and I have done together (besides our wedding of course)! She said we did the VIP Dinner and Helicopter Tour Package which included the helicopter tour and dinner at Fogo De Chao. The evening was Phenomenal and flawless!! We even learned a ton from the Pilot and had no idea that Baltimore had that much history and historic landmarks and ships. Nothing short of magical and incredible!! I clicked on a facebook link looking for something different to do and they were at the top. Gave them a call and a real person picked up that actually knew what they were talking about. I then completed the booking and had to reschedule due to bad weather, which they were incredibly accommodating. Tour day didn't prove anything less than magical! Sunsets in Baltimore will never be the same! Our Guide/Pilot Freddie gave us an aerial tour of the city sprinkled with facts that made it fun and educational. Our host and safety instructor, Kate, was gracious and inviting, take a perfect snapshot of my fiancé and I. Smooth ride and the most amazing view of Baltimore's many landmark. Good heavens, what an incredibly friendly, accommodating staff. Everyone who worked there wanted to be sure my son and I had a great experience (which we did). I've flown in airplanes plenty of times, even tiny prop-plane puddle-jumpers, but this ride was a much more intimate view of varied and beautiful terrain. What a treat! read more
