OMG! The website looked good, but the place was dark, run down, smelled like BO, with sketchy people outside. I walked away!

Where do I begin…read more... I called the night before my appointment and asked about a Swedish, massage 90 minutes. I was told $90 for 90 minutes and then I asked if they have hot stones and she said yes. So like many other places I've been to, I thought it was part of my massage but I realize I should have asked. More to come on pricing below. I go into what looks like a room for couples with a light that was dim but not dim enough to set the mood for my massage and the waterfall was extremely loud. The masseuse put a towel over the lamp which did nothing. An older lady came in who was my masseuse and she asked me what areas are bothering me. But before we started I should have known something was up when my masseuse had a washcloth to wipe off my hands and my feet. Never in all of my years of having a massage has anybody done that. So that pretty much set the tone for things to come. I let her know that my neck and my shoulders needed work. I kid you not, she did more pushing on me then actual massaging and literally spent almost 15 to 20 minutes massaging my left arm... Just my arm and forearm! It was almost as if she didn't want to give me the massage. She barely massaged my back and yes I told her that my neck and my shoulders were the areas that I needed work but that's where she focused almost all of the time outside of massaging my arm and forearm. She rubbed my feet like she was grating cheese and then as she finished up using the hot stones on my back she moved them back and forth so quickly like she was trying to wipe a stain out of a shirt. On another note, I will say this is my fault for not speaking up but her nails were longer and subsequently I felt them each time she went under my shoulders and massaging my neck. So I get up and get dressed. When I go to the front this young girl tells me that the charge for my massage is $115. I explained to her that I had called the night before and they told me it was $90 for 90 minutes with hot stones. That was when they started babbling back and forth and that was when I told them to forget about it. I laid my card down, begrudgingly left a tip and walked out. Based on the reviews that I saw I had high hopes for getting a really great and relaxing massage. But I walked out realizing what should have been a relaxing experience turned into a waste of time and money.

Still my favorite place for a massage in Big Bear. This is our third visit in three years, and…read moreevery time it has been wonderful. Today, my friend had a 90 minute massage with Kristee and I had a 90 minute massage with Angie. They both were incredibly good. The best massage I've had in a long time. Plus, they are both so nice. The 90 minute massage included a hot stone massage and aromatherapy. It was $155. Totally recommend, and we will be back on our next visit to Big Bear!

Read to the end-Important lesson! Very nice massage and…read morefacial for both my daughter and myself. We received a 2-hour treatment which was perfectly fine. More expensive than I've ever paid even on a cruise ship, but I get it-it's a resort town. Everything went great until it didn't. Be aware that in the end, they charge a hefty credit card fee, as each therapist is an independent contractor. We didn't know this. With their already high prices (conveniently including their own chosen amount tip already included for themselves) the credit card fee can be well over $20. Then I'm also paying a credit card fee on the top? Nah. Since I'm not really into paying unnecessary fees, I was then told that one technician takes only Venmo or Zelle. And the other ONLY Zelle. This complicated things as we don't typically use those payment apps (we do use Apple Cash, but neither accepted those. And of course we weren't carrying around $700 in cash. (I could have brought cash, had I known). So then the uncomfortable awkwardness came. Yeah I could have just paid the fee and been done but I was aggravated that this was not disclosed anywhere on their website. Not that they were independent contractors nor the % fee for credit cards nor the limited payment apps. We double checked while there and couldn't find anything on their site. Additionally when I made the reservation I was prepared to prepay and offered but the receptionist stated that we would pay at the time of service, which is most frustrating because she didn't mention why or anything about additional fees or limited payment options. So, all the stress that was just removed IMMEDIATELY came back. It was embarrassing also because a large party came in and crowded the small waiting area and some other older technician came over and demanded we pay NOW so they could begin with their new clients. I thought she was "the boss" but no, just asserting power. Because of that I'm tempted to even lower another star rating, which I did just because of that. Our therapists were nice about it, but looked worried, which they needed not be. We are good people. We worked it out with making a phone call and having the 2 payments sent. But I thought people should know this before they go: The techs are independent contractors. They each add on their own tip (as stated on their website) but how much that is-you don't know Some techs only take certain types of payment And one older tech was not compassionate about the situation and pretty much humiliated us for not wanting us to pay extravagant needless credit card fees. We will try a different place next time. But at least others will know if they read this.

I've been coming to Reflexology, managed by Grace, since I moved to the Valley in 2017, and it's just consistently been my go-to. Coco, Amy, Cindy, Lee, and Eric are all really good. They've helped a lot with the body misalignment and tightness I get from sitting at a computer all day and from workouts. Lately I've been dealing with neck pain, shoulder stiffness, and even some arm discomfort, and they know exactly where to work--it actually makes a noticeable difference. I always leave feeling a lot better than when I came in. I usually go once or twice a month and have brought a few friends here too--they all liked it. I also like that you can ask for the pressure you want, whether you want something lighter or really deep depending on what you need that day. I usually do the 90-minute session, and it really helps reset everything. Their treatment is pretty thorough. They use acupressure and work on your head, neck, shoulders, arms, and hands, then spend time on your feet, and finish with your back and legs. It's not rushed, and it feels like they cover everything. I also always end up sleeping really well after. They have different options too, including a combination treatment and a more focused therapeutic massage for back issues like sciatica or arthritis. I usually go with the therapeutic one--it helps a lot with my neck and shoulder tension and just overall resets my body. Pricing is actually pretty reasonable for what you get, especially compared to other places around here. If you go, just mention you saw the offer on their website. The place is clean, and the staff are always nice and professional. They truly provide a good therapeutic massage, and you can actually hear how much relief people feel by the end of their session. If you're looking for somewhere reliable to work out tension and stress, this is a solid spot.
