My lightly used 3 yr old spa was tripping the breaker and Ken replaced the heater. CalSpa was considering covering it despite my house being a rental but Jeff of Palmetto Hot Tubs refused to provide the proof CalSpa requested (probably because the heater wasn't broken in the first place, so he had no proof). Then Jeff called CalSpa to be sure they flagged my spa as being in a rental (they knew, he was just being spiteful)! My next renter reported the tub not working. Jeff demanded $690 despite it exhibiting the same exact behavior (tripping the breaker). I said I'd pay when they fixed it, and they threatened to send me to a collection agency, then they told me "Do not call the store anymore" - just like the other review where the guy said they blocked him. Jeff also accused my electrician of a bad wiring job, and said that I almost killed their technician. That was false. I wrote to the owner Craig Hunsicker, with whom we spent over 10k. If he resolved the issue I wouldn't be publishing this review. Crickets! Shocked that he didn't read the bad behavior in the email trail and apologize profusely. Jim of Aquatic Spas and More in Hilton Head fixed it. Turns out I'm one of many Palmetto customers with a shockingly bad story. And, the issue was the motor (not the heater). Its from China so its crap. Unlike Palmetto, Jim agreed that a motor should not die after 3 years of use, rental or not, and he is going to bat with us with CalSpa.

Clear communication from the beginning. He delivered and set up the hot tub with what seemed to be ease. It was a couple of weeks before we connected to electrical to make sure everything was working as this is a used hot tub. Of course something didn't work, so I message James and right away he was on it. He showed up the next day and found the bad part. What was extremely surprising to me was James offered to make right and repair or rebuild the part. We opted for a new part and he sold to us at cost and made the repairs. I highly recommend that if you are in need of hot tub repairs or in the market for one, reach out to James and at least give him a chance to show you that he can be trustworthy. Owner Jim stated today it will be July before he can look at it for warranty work. If Aqua Paradise has this much warranty work I would surely look to purchase elsewhere. I am second guessing my purchase. You really spun that answer, to bad its not truthful. Your tech came 5 days later, check your records. You did say you weren't coming unless Covana paid you. I contacted Covana to get warranty claim rolling. You never reached out to me unless Covana contacted you first. When I talked to Covana on 5/28 they said you already knew it was being warrantied. You couldn't take an hour out of your day to look at it and say you would try to fix it.

It would be nice if the Canadians made it in the USA. I did elect to purchase an off market heat pump to regulate the temperature for 365 use. While not connected to the 485 bus and control panel, its a blue tooth controlled model via a phone app and is 10db quieter. Impressive. You would be hard pressed to find a better price, product, or customer service. They never tried to sell me anything or suggest anything. Not pushy. Very knowledgeable about the products inner workings and setup. I did use the factory customer support line once to learn how to operate the message jets as one was beyond hand tight... with a single phone call. Delighted here. Health is my No.1 value. While I may never have a place on the water, I just might not need to anymore.
