I ordered the pork chop with the side of veggies which included okra, corn, and Lima beans, & diced tomatoes along with baby potatoes, it was quite filling the pork chop however was very dry to me even with the sauce included. My friend had ordered salmon with asparagus and mashed potatoes and she said it was delicious, which I believe her since I wasn't able to get a bite! The first night I stayed here, I was hopeful it was going to be good. Well, I was vastly wrong! It's hard to mess up smocked anything, but they were very successful in doing just that! The next night I went down and had 2 beers and was harassed for what reason is still unknown but nevertheless. The server named Thomas was rude and condescending and made a smear about life style??? This time I decided to try the jalapeño brisket sandwich... and them jalapeños are crazy lol like wise loud ass grew these???? We stopped in here for a bite to eat while we were on a conference. The conference is Cell provided a box lunch from this establishment. It was a turkey sandwich on some kind of fancy hard bread. And the Doritos and a cookie that was not good. The sandwich itself was not too tasty for my opinion. It was a lot of bread not much meat not much cheese. I'll start with the good: Our waitress was a sweetheart. She did her job well. Also, the bread pudding was delicious. Now unfortunately on to the bad: food quality of the appetizer and main dishes were awful. For an appetizer we ordered the bourbon honey glazed shrimp cocktail. They failed to clean all of the shrimp. That's right...there was a big ole poop shoot left on at least one of the shrimp. The rest tasted like plain ole shrimp cocktail. The honey bourbon taste was completely absent. For a main, I ordered the honey bourbon glazed chicken. They seriously served me not fresh, frozen chicken that resembled the Great Value Brand pre-cooked chargrilled chicken breast you can get in a bag at Walmart. No seasoning on said chicken. The bourbon honey glaze was negligible. The mashed potatoes were good, but not many people can screw up mashed potatoes. My husband ordered the 12 ounce steak. It was about as thick as the ribeyes you get at Huddle House and about the same quality of meat. But they smothered it was garlic herb butter. Again, not a fresh cut of meat and appeared to have been from freezer to pan. I wouldn't have minded that had it not cost $42! Just absurd. Louisville has some excellent restaurants. This is not one of them and, hopefully, people who travel to the area don't think this place is representative of restaurant quality food in the Louisville area. I gave them 3 stars but because the waitress was lovely. And we enjoyed the bread pudding -which per waitress was one of the few homemade, not pre-frozen desserts. read more

Charr'd is located inside the Louisville Marriott East. I ate dinner and breakfast there. The dinner menu had a good selection of food and drinks. Keep in mind this is Kentucky and when in Kentucky bourbon will always be on the menu. This spot has over 200 to chose from and there are many great brands. I didn't take advantage of the bourbon BUT I did go the traditional tourist route and ordered the Kentucky Hot Brown...I was curious and they look delicious. The one here was just okay. What's a Hot Brown you wonder: A Hot Brown sandwich is an American hot sandwich originally created at the Brown Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky, by Fred K. Schmidt in 1926. It is a variation of traditional Welsh rarebit and was one of two signature sandwiches created by chefs at the Brown Hotel shortly after its founding in 1923. If ever in Louisville again I'll have to go to the Brown Hotel to try the original. Now I will tell you the restaurant has great seating options, a great bar, and the bar staff is awesome and friendly. My 3 star rating is based on the Hot Brown it was good but it wasn't GOOD. But the fries were great As for breakfast I did their buffet which including unlimited omelets and waffles. It was good, and the selection had something for everyone. I recommend it. read more

I am here for an event this week and thought since I am starving I would just go to hotel restaurant. I asked the front desk if it was open {since it was so empty and no personnel around} they told me yes and just sit down. I sat for 15 min and on one acknowledge me {for that matter maybe no one saw me since I didn't see anyone even remotely expecting customers}. I will now have to leave the hotel to eat and am concerned about how it will be the rest of the week especially when we are on a time schedule. A friend and I ate here on the evening of 5/23/23. The food did not match the menu online but we still decided to give it a try. He got a very small salmon filet that was undercooked. I got the pork chop that was okay but over priced. The mashed potatoes was sad and looked pasty and the sweet potato wedges where hard like carrots and covered with dark spots. What an amazing experience! We ate here with a very large group. One of the kind people in our group took it upon themselves to check around to various places and see who would be most willing to work with the size of our group. Charr'd immediately stepped up to the plate and even offered to bring in extra staff just to accommodate us! Wow! Hubby and I ordered unsweet iced tea, a Caesar side salad to split, and I ordered their mac and cheese. Despite the fact that one of the gentleman taking care of us was very busy, I informed him that I tend to drink a lot and would like a pitcher. He was back with one within five minutes of me asking. Our salad was good. The dressing was not overpowering. It was just a salad, more or less. However, that mac & cheese was perhaps the BEST mac & cheese I have ever eaten! It had smoked chicken in it which rounded out all of the different cheeses they used in it (including Mornay sauce from their hot browns!). So creamy. So dreamy. So gone. I ate every last bite of it. The staff did an unbelievably amazing job of accommodating us. The food and drink came out at a great pace. We all were taken care of very well. Popped in here after having my car worked on at Bachman Chevrolet. I love this bar! Comfy bar stools, plenty of friendly staff! The bourbon list is extremely diverse! I settled on a Bulleit Rye over one of their giant ice cubes! Love that. The menu is full of delicious smoked entrees. I opted for the Cornish game hen smoked with mashed potatoes and the Brussels sprouts. The hen was perfectly cooked and while sometimes I think things can taste over smoked, the balance of the sweet marinade mixed with the Smokey taste of the hen was marvelous! I love their Brussels sprouts, savory and perfectly cooked to a bit of crisp. Hubs had the smoked trout with Brussels sprouts. I don't think he expected the entire fish with head and all to come out but he said it was cooked / smoked really well. For the quality of food I didn't think pricing was too bad. It always kills me to spend $12 for a bourbon when the same bourbon at some restaurants might be $6-8 but you are paying for the ambience, the quality of the bar. We enjoyed our meal. It does seem odd that it's right in the lobby but they do a nice job with a large wall separation and once you are seated it doesn't seem loud and feels a little more private than when you first walk in. Great menu with many "traditional" Kentucky dishes all done very well. Most recently dined on a Sunday afternoon for lunch so restaurant was a little deserted (it is in a Marriott Hotel) but service was good and food was delicious. Two in our party had the Kentucky Hot Brown and it was reported to be very satisfactory I had the Reuben and my husband had the Chicken and Waffles. Reuben was good but fries were a little cold. Chicken and Waffles was the best by far. Sauce was spicy and sweet but chicken was freshly breaded, seasoned well and cooked to perfection!Yum! Bar and restaurant have a nice vibe and unique local feel (which is hard to do inside a chain hotel ). My husband mentioned their sign for bourbon flights as we were leaving. We don't drink bourbon and we live in town but the restaurant/bar have such a nice atmosphere that it makes you want to return. read more

It's so nice to have the option to eat at the hotel restaurant after a long day. We were a little slap happy and our server, Chris was good natured about it. We had the hummus, pork nachos, and quesadillas. The nachos were just okay. I didn't love the flavor of the pork. The rest of the dishes were pretty good! I had lunch a business lunch at Charr'd earlier this week and was pleasantly surprised. First, by the hotel itself, which was much nicer and more well-appointed than the location in the midst of car dealerships and business parks might suggest. My second surprise was the ample bar - although I didn't partake, there was an extensive bourbon selection evident. My third surprise was the service. Attentive without being cloying. Prompt. Full of those little touches - water with lemon to go at the end of the meal, a perfectly packaged go-bag for an unfinished appetizer - that take a meal from pleasant to completely satisfying. All that and I haven't even gotten to the food. My catfish sandwich and fries were delicious - especially the fries. Perfectly seasoned and crispy. Toasted and spiced pecans were a hit as an appetizer and with my son later when I brought some home. That missing star above? Mainly for the location. I'm not sure I'd come back just for the restaurant considering it's out of the way locale. But if I were a hotel guest - and it's a gorgeous hotel - I'd visit in a heartbeat. read more

I was a little skeptical when I heard about this place on Groupon, it was in a hotel but it had a ton of bourbon so I was game. We got their pretzels and beer cheese and the Grippo's wings and each got a bourbon. Oh My Goodness! The food is delicious and all of the bourbon choices, wow, I was thrilled! The pretzels come sliced which was a little odd, but it worked out, and their beer cheese was fabulous. I was eating it with the celery that came with our wings. And let me tell you about those wings!! They coat them in the Grippo's seasoning, and then smoke them, and then coat them again *drool*!!!! I can't wait to go back and have some more. This place surprised me. When I think of a hotel bar, I think of weak, overpriced drinks and typical bar food. This place was great, it had really good food and drinks that were very well priced. I ordered the Makers Mark and soda, along with the Charr'd Hen. My drinks were delicous, as well as my chicken. It came with broccoli and asparagus and was really tasty. I picked the bones clean, that good. Really comfortable atmosphere and really good food, inside of a really nice hotel. 10/10 would recommend. read more
