I love this wine bar! I haven't been back in years because I moved away. However, I've been in the area more and wanted to stop in. There is plenty of free parking in the area. I stopped in on a Tuesday around 4:30 pm. I was able to be seated with no wait at the bar. The staff are knowledgeable about the wine and were able to help me pick a wine I liked based on my preferences. The restaurant is small so making a reservation ahead of time is never a bad idea. If you want a tasty appetizer, try their baked Brie. Their meatball bolognese makes a great meal. Their food tastes fresh and homemade. Definitely give them a try.

We had dinner here to celebrate our 7th wedding anniversary and it didn't disappoint. I had the chicken carbonara and 2 glasses of Moscato. They have a selection of red and white wines, along with a few cocktails as well. It's nice and cozy inside, just a little odd that it's in a strip mall next to Kroger. Our server was excellent!!

To go order wrapped really nicely. Keeps it hot and nothing spills.

Late night landed at the airport. Called to place an order before the kitchen closed. My arrival time was before the estimated arrival time according to gps, so I asked them to put a rush on it. They said they'd see what they can do. The place was packed when I arrived. They invited me to sit at the bar while I waited. The bartender poured me a glass of water and offered me a drink while I waited. I declined. My food came out in a few minutes. It wasn't as long as they estimated, thankfully. I was happy they hustled cuz it was late and I had a long day of travel. The food was wrapped up nicely. The burger was fantastic. The fries were good too. I would clearly get this same order again but hopefully next time I can dine in, and have a drink as well. Appreciate their service and expediency.

A quaint upscale restaurant tucked in a shopping center. The service was efficient and friendly! Wine was smooth and the temperature was perfectly served. The Pesto pizza was the best I've ever had lightly crisp crust and the pesto tasted freshly made. I added chicken for protein and it was amazing! It's actually on the appetizer menu but was a whole meal for me. You gotta check this out if you're in the Lagrange (Louisville) area. Thank me later

One of the great fillets I have had in my life! A fantastic combination of flavors!

They created our birthday girl as a reservation for 2 instead of 6 and helped us surprise her at the table. The lighting is a bit dark but that helped the surprise. The manager brought out a sparkling wine and the chef sent out an amuse bouche. The pimento spread was so good we took a pint home for $20 (shhh secret). Our waitress Mo was professional a helpful with meal suggestions and separating some mushrooms for me. The shrimp appetizer is delicious and had 9 shrimp. The corn fitters come in 4 and Mo added 2. They were okay but I'd try something different in the future. The whole large kernels were odd in a light fritter. Our meals were fantastic. Everyone raved about bites of the filet and the chicken dish. The bolognese is a staple in the menu and was almost the perfect bite, perhaps a bit more meat in the sauce but the pasta was perfect. I had the wild boar and goat cheese polenta. The polenta didn't have a strong goatyness to it but was creamy, I ate it all. The boar was done to just short of falling off the bone. I used a piece of the grilled bread from my friends pasta to finish the meal. The wine list is short but complex. We had the Rioja red, so dry and smelled of old leather, but was a perfect wine to cut through the richness of the dishes. Our seat had a great view of the whiskey wall (almost every seat does) and it was a conversation piece the whole evening. Oh, forgot to mention the manhattan can be made into a black manhattan- outstanding. Best I've had in a restaurant. We are already making plans for our parties next birthday in July and will be asking for Mo. she was there at every turn throughout the meal. Pleasant and there to help at any point. The manager checked on us two times. WHP does fine dining so well. I haven't had such a wonderful evening for everyone in quite some time. We will be back and highly recommend. Will be sending out an executive's here when they are looking for L'ville dining. Well done. Sorry no pics, the room is dark and the ones I took don't do the meal justice.

Food 2.5/5: This obviously carries the most weight. The menu itself is excellent and the descriptions and components of each dish sound perfect. The execution was way off! Literally everything was far too salty and we ordered things that should not be salty... diver scallops and black cod. These are delicate proteins that don't need much help. Why oh why over-salt these?! Oddly the cook on both was very good but the seasoning ruined both dishes. Drinks 4.5/5: We had 3 different cocktails all of which were excellent.

Madeleine's is not a wine tasting bar but a restaurant with an extensive wine list (for this small town, at least). They have a fairly extensive food menu as well as many unique wines on their list. They also serve beer, if that's your thing. One of the owners seated us and let us know that we could sample any of the wines with which we were unfamiliar before ordering a full glass. Although we had not planned to eat there as it was 3pm, our husbands popped in, so we ended up with an order of meatballs too. We absolutely loved them! They had a very bright flavor with a hint of some sort of spice in the sauce, which was amazing. We plan to come back for an actual dinner at some point soon as the food that we had was exceptional. The menu is extensive; the ambience is nice; and, the service was excellent. A bit of backstory for you -- the owners had moved from New York back to Kentucky after many years in the high-end restaurant business in New York City. The "Madeline" in the name of the restaurant is not the name of either owner; it's the name of one of the owner's mothers -- traditionally done in the restaurant business for good luck!

They really have outdone themselves in renovations! It's just so beautiful and photos are great but seeing it in person will show you what I mean. The staff is beautiful and they handled my questions perfectly. Coming from everywhere to relocate here so it's great to meet other transplants in this city! One of my favorite parts of moving here has been discovering new places that are local and finding out they came here from somewhere else too lol! The massive selection of wine and drinks is not only impressive- it's important to know they have work so hard on curating every aspect of this place. Only using art created by local artists that is for sale and will change every 6-8 weeks! So if you see it... you know you want it- get it before someone else snatches it up for themselves!!! The space is so elegant and showcases such diversity throughout! It's so unique and yet flows together seamlessly... just like our unique city and community. I really feel they embraced and embodied this wholeheartedly. Yeah keep Louisville weird- and upscale lol. Perfection. They only use local haunts we all love and eat at! Red hog, blue dog bakery and more. This place is super sick and such a special treat! I really hope everyone shows up and enjoys this place and gives them a big beautiful welcome they are so deserving of. The burrata was so well balanced with the accompanying tomato, the tuna was so juicy and well seared, and the lemon sorbet had me dreaming of lemons for hours after. The food is genuinely worth the price point! If you care though, the restaurant is VERY plain. There is very little personality in the decor, and aside from some unconventional chairs and a tile floor by the bar, nothing really sticks out as pleasing to the eye. I chose this restaurant for Valentine's Day to have a romantic, intimate atmosphere, and the vibe was giving summer camp lunch. The floor plan is very open and super grey, with plain wood tables. Even the servers were in very casual clothing. Any other night this would have been fine, but for Valentine's Day, I wish I had picked something more romantic.
