Their "slogan" is that they are "Reliable." NOT! We have had three different cable companies in the three different towns we've lived in over the past 15 years (Maryland and North Carolina), and Charter is BY FAR THE WORST of all three cable companies. The only way to get any satisfaction on invoice problems, service problems, reception problems, etc., is to make a big stink with the Better Business Bureau and the NC Attorney General's Consumer Protection office; then watch them run! Seriously, who wants to have to do this? I didn't, but it was the only way to get my problem worked out. Once I complained to both of these organizations, I got resolution within a few days. In fact, I had three different customer service representatives in the "escalation department" helping at the same time. Funny, though, because none of them knew that someone else was helping me. So much for "communications" problems... even within their own company. Anyway, you have to do what you have to do and, if you're having problems with them, this is the quickest way to get their attention! Cable, or any other monopolies should be outlawed, but the cable companies have us by the balls in Wilmington, North Carolina, people! Next stop, the legislators who grant franchises and make the laws.

It looks great and all the discounts make sense, but after 12 months both companies practically double your bill. For example, I started off paying about $55 for Direct TV and $35 for CenturyLink internet. Not bad for the package and it made sense since Suddenlink charged the same price for less channels and slower internet. At the 12-month anniversary my cable jumped to $105 and internet to $70 - and no, this was the basic package for internet and the select package for cable. Even after talking with the loyalty program, I still pay $87 for the entertainment package - which is crap. No chance I'm wasting money on the internet service which is also crap. My recommendation - stay with Suddenlink or Time Warner. If you choose Direct TV and CenturyLink, read the fine print (contract for 2 years, discounts only for 1 year).

I was told since the billing cycle started on April 6 and I didn't return the equipment until April 8. I would the $100 charge. I think that that should have been prorated regardless since been a customer for 7 1/2 years and the bill every month on time. Their response was that company policy that the billing cycle is for one month no exceptions.

However, on the rare occasion that I've required assistance, TWC and their folks have always been fast, capable, and friendly, from the front-desk receptionist when paying my bill, to the repair man when they once had to roll a truck to my place. After reading the other, negative reviews here, I'll say that, perhaps, I'm just lucky in my dealings with TWC; but, for what it's worth, I have only good things to say about it. The folks at the College Road (near Sam's Club) were arrogant, snooty, and disrespectful, and referred me to customer service. The store was empty and the employees were gathered in a group playing on their phones. Unless you need a new phone, and have money to spend with them they don't want to see you. About a year ago, my 92 year old father wanted a new phone, and he was not capable of traveling, so I went to this store with his power of attorney, his driver's license, and his account information. They would not give me a phone for him, and insisted I bring him to the store. They made up some BS policy. If you want to deal with arrogant, empty headed children, whom just want to hang out and get paid, go visit that store. When you buy something from them, no matter what they tell you other than handing you the phone - they will not do it and will lie to your face. I plan on taking my 9 phone account to T-Mobile as soon as I can!
