We have had three different cable companies in the three different towns we've lived in over the past 15 years (Maryland and North Carolina), and Charter is BY FAR THE WORST of all three cable companies. The only way to get any satisfaction on invoice problems, service problems, reception problems, etc., is to make a big stink with the Better Business Bureau and the NC Attorney General's Consumer Protection office; then watch them run! Seriously, who wants to have to do this? I didn't, but it was the only way to get my problem worked out. Once I complained to both of these organizations, I got resolution within a few days. In fact, I had three different customer service representatives in the "escalation department" helping at the same time. Funny, though, because none of them knew that someone else was helping me. So much for "communications" problems... even within their own company. Anyway, you have to do what you have to do and, if you're having problems with them, this is the quickest way to get their attention! Cable, or any other monopolies should be outlawed, but the cable companies have us by the balls in Wilmington, North Carolina, people! Well, the tech did NOT show up for his appointment which a two hours window from 4-6 pm. Called customer service and have no idea where our tech is or even when he will arrive at our house. Our bill is like $87.xx a month, about 15-30 dollars less than anyone else has. They also finance phones at -0- interest, and have bought 3-4 phones from them, pay them off in 2-3 years, then pass the used one down to my wife so I can get an upgrade. I don't and can't get their TV service being in Pa, and have lived here now about 2 1/2 years, and was told that "they're coming to PA soon". I've tried several times as we come and go from North Carolina to Pa. I only wish they'd come to Pa, as the current TV service here is horrible at best no matter what company you choose. l would pick up the tV service at least for the sports channels tomorrow if they were available. I'm guessing since they apparently have a "network contract with Verizon to use their Cell network there must be a clause that they can not infringe on their territory here in PA. I got fiber to the home, gigabit service from AT&T. It has been reliable and is fast like you would expect. Price is decent. $75 per month intro rate, $100 after a year. No data caps which is very important if you stream a lot of TV and/or have security cameras. The router they give you is fine for a small home or apartment. The Wi-Fi is not every customizable and the 5Ghz signal doesn't go very far. If you have a larger house then you may need to invest in a mesh system for wi-fi coverage. Overall I have been satisfied with the service.
