I contacted Cha's late in the afternoon to ask whether they could replace a headlight for me. It was close to 4 p.m., but the person who answered the phone asked if I was nearby and said they could take care of it right away if I could bring the car in. When I asked about the cost, he simply told me to come in and they would handle it. I arrived within ten minutes, and the entire team -- Eric, Bobby, and Teddy -- was ready and waiting. They replaced the bulb in about five minutes. I truly appreciate the speed, professionalism, and attention they gave me, especially on short notice. I have previously taken my daughter's car to this shop and I have appreciated the quality of the work and I felt that the prices have been fair. Until today. I took the car in for an alternator replacement. I was quoted $800 for a 2005 Toyota Camry, plus a $100 assessment fee. When I informed them that I did not want them to do the work, I felt an instant change of attitude from this establishment. I paid the $100 assessment fee and informed them that a tow truck driver would be coming to get the car. When I was questioned as to what I was going to do and why I wasn't getting the car repaired by them, I informed them that their prices were too high and that I had received at least 3 quotes that were $250-450 cheaper than them. Andy (not sure if he is the owner) would then not release the keys to the vehicle to me and informed me that when the tow truck driver arrived they would have to come in and speak with him to get the keys. As reported by the tow truck driver, Cha's Auto made him start up the vehicle and drive it off of their property in order to hook it up to the tow truck. RIDICULOUS and DISGUSTING CUSTOMEF SERVICE. I will NEVER take my vehicle here again and I will make sure that everyone I know will also avoid this establishment. read more

Once again my car had problems, this time a front wheel bearing singing out. Cha's guys (I believe Bobby this time) once again did a great job. The repair bill was under industry standard price, I left happy with a quieter riding car. I can't recommend these guy highly enough. My Mother has been going to Cha for over 14 years, and has purchased 2 vehicles that were repaired by Cha for her grandchildren.... I always felt Cha overcharged my mother ( who is disabled) and didn't know why she kept going there. So, long story short, I owned a 2009 Chevy Traverse with 211,000 miles that I knew was a great deal to pay $1,943,00 for knowing after some mechanical repairs for about $1000, I have a solid FULLY LOADED Truck worth about $4,500. So, the grandchild of my mother was driving my Chevy Traverse for 3 months, and it broke down!!!!!! I had to get the vehicle towed to CHA'S and asked him to evaluate the vehicle so I can get it repaired. Cha took 5 days to finally evaluate the vehicle and told me - the car needs an engine, and is burning oil. I told him this car was purchased as a vehicle for my nephew to get to work and back and I paid $1,943 for it, knowing it needed some repairs down the road. He told me, the vehicle was not worth repairing and He was sorry. He said, the vehicle was burning oil and a full engine replacement was needed, and that he didn't recommend to repair it. SO...... I panicked, listed the Vehicle on Craigslist for $1000 and got a TON of replies! I sold it within 2 hours of the ad, and got $1400- $150 tow, $133 Cha's inspection! NET was $1100, but I just paid $1943! So, now ----The man who bought the truck paid $1400 cash, put a new timing change for $250, and sold the vehicle for $7,500 to a good friend of his! Please help me to understand why a mechanic - knowing my mother is disabled,and still relied on this man- CHA Auto - and purchasing 2 vehicles for her grandchildren- thinks the truck I had to get towed to him for evaluation - needs to be junked????? Do not go to Cha's unless you have a fat checkbook. He took me for over $500 because he did not know what was wrong with my engine and guessed on a new part. The new part did not fix it and he would not refund my money. I took my car to another repair shop that promised they would not charge me for any parts or labor if they did not fix it. The other shop fixed my car with no problems and now I have a new shop to bring my four vehicles to. read more

Cha & his staff are professionals, ASE Certified . He has maintained every car in my families fleet (4 total) from our Caravan, Saturn to my Volkswagen. Very Reasonable in price, quick to get on the job, calls multiple parts vendors to price out the best deal for you. Very dedicated mechanic, know's his customers and their cars. I would recommend Cha for anything from an oil change to the most challenging of jobs. He has done my exhaust, brakes, belts, ball joint and a few other jobs. His shop is located right behind the Kwik Trip on Robert Trail in Rosemount, He is on the back side of the building. Side Note: He generally stays away from transmission work because of the parts, does have a shop he works with that does them. read more

I started going here two years ago; I take both of my Toyotas here mostly for oil changes (so far). Cha and his staff are friendly, courteous, honest and they know their cars. They could have taken me for a ride on a possible small tranny leak, but after monitoring it for two oil changes they said it wasn't a problem. Mr Cha is pretty responsible and the price is fairly reasonable. He is very honest on the examination result and does not ask you to do things that are not worthwhile (or say, not cost-effective to customers). Cha and his staff are ASE Certified Professionals. They are really great at finding what's wrong with the vehicles, only fix what's broken and recommend proper maintenance. My family have been going to Cha's for years and we always get the professional and courteous service. Very reasonable on price. I have been ripped off from other mechanic shops, they replaced what's not broken and up charge parts and labor. At Cha's, you get the honest service and honest price. I have had both an older car and a newer car serviced by Cha. He and his crew gave me affordable work, plus good solid advice on how to take care of my older car. I was able to get an extra 2 years out of the older car based upon his advice. (2 extra years with no car payment was a very big deal to me at the time!) I recently had my newer car in to a different local auto place for a tire rotation. That other place told me that I needed new struts and new brakes and that the total bill would be over $2,000. I brought the same car to Cha for his evaluation. He recommended brakes, yes, but said that the struts look fine and are not in need of replacement yet--just monitoring for the next year or two. Cha's integrity and ability to put complex car issues into plain English for the nontechnical person are a breath of fresh air in the world of local car repair! I got the work done that needed to get done, at about 1/4 of the cost that the other place would have charged. I would STRONGLY recommend Cha! Go there first, before other shops. They also sell tires, but without all the markups of other tire places. read more

I recently had a repair done at Cha's. I was not sure what was wrong, but they were able to diagnose, order a part, and replace the part in less than 2 hours. As far as price, I cannot compare since I don't know what it cost somewhere else, but I called for the appointment on friday, got it for monday morning and was driving again by lunchtime. Brought my vehicle in to have the timing belt, tensioner, and pulleys changed along with the drive belt. When I got the vehicle back, the engine was making a noise it had never made before. When I asked about it, it was chalked up to it being a high mileage engine and that is what they do, however, I couldn't figure out why started that day. I took it to a different mechanic who basically said the same thing. Fast forward 14 months. It starts running rough. Turned out cylinder 2 had started misfiring. Pulled the spark plug and the tip is completely gone. The place that performed the work also said the spark plug was loose. Put a new one in and not only did it correct the misfiring, but the noise the engine made after the timing belt job 14 months earlier disappeared and the engine sounded completely normal again. The spark plugs had 30,000 miles on them when the timing belt was replaced, so they were not part of that job and there is nothing about that job that should have required messing with them, but for some reason they were. It's difficult to come to any other conclusion than it had been deliberately tampered with while the timing belt was being replaced. I simply don't know what other conclusion would explain it. I suspected this behavior on a couple other things I had them do, but this hands down, no questions asked affirmed those suspicions. read more
