I took the car in for an alternator replacement. I was quoted $800 for a 2005 Toyota Camry, plus a $100 assessment fee. When I informed them that I did not want them to do the work, I felt an instant change of attitude from this establishment. I paid the $100 assessment fee and informed them that a tow truck driver would be coming to get the car. When I was questioned as to what I was going to do and why I wasn't getting the car repaired by them, I informed them that their prices were too high and that I had received at least 3 quotes that were $250-450 cheaper than them. Andy (not sure if he is the owner) would then not release the keys to the vehicle to me and informed me that when the tow truck driver arrived they would have to come in and speak with him to get the keys. As reported by the tow truck driver, Cha's Auto made him start up the vehicle and drive it off of their property in order to hook it up to the tow truck. RIDICULOUS and DISGUSTING CUSTOMEF SERVICE. I will NEVER take my vehicle here again and I will make sure that everyone I know will also avoid this establishment.

After I left the tire shop, there was a clanking noise coming from one of tires. The tire shop couldn't find anything wrong and said there was probably something else loose in the car from hitting the water main so hard. My car is a VW and replacement parts are expensive, so another VW owner highly recommended Luis Alvarez Auto Repair cause they were local, honest, and fixed things right away. I called the shop at 1:30pm, they got me in at 2pm, and I was done by 3pm. Before he took it out, Luis showed me the small rock that was wedged down by the brake caliper. There was one bad experience, where they didn't tighten the clamp on one of my hoses and all of my coolant leaked out on the highway. That was irritating beyond belief. Other than that experience, their service is good overall. Be warned, they are one of the few shops that will still charge a foreign car fee. I can't rate them higher than 3 stars because their pricing is on the high end. Not dealership service center high, but they consistently charge more than Medicar across the street and Cha's Auto Service down the road.

I had contact my relative and she sent me to Midas In Eden Prairie, MN. Boy DID I MAKE A BIG MISTAKE. Midas told me I had to replace a whole cylinder head!! IT was gonna cost me $6k!! That is like a good used car! On top of that they we're inspecting other parts of the car that was not necessary! Unfortunately, I had to pay $122 for the diagnostic but I by change had contacted on Craig's List another Mechanic who referred me to Erik. I had told Erick and he himself was shocked at my story! He new Midas was BS-ing and I went to him. My engine was still fine! I just needed new spark plugs which he believed Midas technicians damage by pulling it out the improper way and new great quality coils which I should have don vs buying from Ebay.
