When I was ready to purchase my first car, they did the vehicle inspection. The experience is the same, from day 1 to now, years later. They do all my maintenance. They let you know what needs to be fixed right away and what you can postpone. They let me in the garage and show what the issues are. I learned about D & D from a coworker who knew this family (family owned business). She told me they are honest and great mechanics. It is so TRUE! They never fix things that don't need to be fixed, i.e. A dealer told me I needed something done and D & D said absolutely not. They do a great job servicing cars and will often do something special at no charge, like fix a switch or secure a part. They tell you what needs to be done and what can wait. I totally trust them. Every one in my family takes their cars to D & D and many of my friends do as well. I think their prices are very fair and substantially less then a dealer would charge. D & D Auto Works defies the typical auto-mechanic stereotype. Looking for a small, trustworthy auto shop to fix my squeaky brakes - I trusted the high yelp reviews & took my Honda to D & D. They had my repairs done in less than a day, and explained everything they repaired & why down to the very last detail. For all the work they did, the price tag was low, a very nice perk. After a couple of days driving my polished up vehicle, the same brake problem re-appeared. I brought my car back to D & D... "what they heck, thought you guys were legit?!". Turns out, these guys are as legitimate as it gets. They explained that a part had come loose, fixed it at no cost, & threw in a free oil change for the inconvenience. Wow. In 2009 on Thanksgiving day a spark plug blew out of my beloved 2000 Civic. I was growing increasingly frustrated with the dealership as this was going on the third (and by far the worst!) spark plug problem in the last year and the third towing bill I was now going to have to pay. I had spent a good part of that Thanksgiving day researching my car problem on the internet so I knew going in this could either be an affordable fix or a $2,000+ repair job. It was terrifying taking my car to a new place in such a dire situation but after reading all the great reviews for D&D, I just had to trust my instinct and try somewhere else. Fast forward to 2014, my car has had NO spark plug problems since D&D worked on it and I had the spark plugs changed again in June ( a little risky once an insert is needed) by D&D. The problematic spark plug stayed in and my car is running great! I am so happy! Erik & his team are not only super friendly -- they also know their stuff. I recently had my car shipped out from the East Coast and the car wasn't running properly - the dashboard had the "service engine" light on and the car was sluggish and felt like it was ready to stall. A friend recommended D & D (he's been a client for years). Erik inspected the vehicle the following day. When I received the phone call from Erik, I was expecting the worst. I was really pleased with the communication, timeliness and quality of work I got done on my 2016 Prius. My car is recently out of warranty so I was searching for a non-dealer place to get maintenance done. The folks at D&D will get my business in the future based on this visit. They did my routine maintenance as well as putting new tires on the car. They gave me sensible advice about what to do and not to do. I cannot express how wonderful these guys were! Erik and his team really put my mind at ease, after a horrible experience at Honest-1 Auto Care in New Hope. I was referred to them by my aunt and God-mom, who had been taking her vehicles there for years. After my compressor and power steering went out on my 2007 Chevy Impala, I took the car here for a second opinion. The repairs were significantly less money than the quote I received from Honest-1, they took the time to explain what my options were, they communicated with me regarding the status of my car, and the cost, and they had it done overnight. On top of that, they replaced my headlight and did not charge me for labor. "When I sell the Impala," (they said I should), they recommended cars for me, with a lot less problems - Honda, Suburu, etc. - even though, that would bring them less business! I Brought in my 2004 Pontiac vibe for a simple battery change and these guys charged me over $220 bucks. Not only that but they also tried to up sell me on an oil change even though I had just gotten an oil change less then a week before. I had recently moved to Minneapolis and knew no one. My car was having sensor problems. A co-worker of mine recommended d and d auto promising me that they were honest and genuine people. Being a 24 year old female who knows nothing about cars I was concerned about being taken advantage of. I went to d and d to have it checked out. I think Will could sense my anxiety and he did everything in his power to make me more comfortable. They did a full evaluation and explained in laymans terms what and why they were doing the things they were. They were very thorough and made sure to keep it affordable for me. Had my rebuilt transmission put into my van. The warranty is 12.000 mi or 12 months. The transmission went out at 15000 miles and talked with Will the owner about the situation. He said that it needs a new transmission and if the mechanic's could install it in less time then standard he would give me the discount, which amount to little or nothing. I filed a complaint with the attorney general which had no effect. Went back in today to discuss situation with Will and he still feels that is fair. 'I've had many vehicles in my life and usually they last at least 120,000 miles or more. Lost my business. read more

I'm a single female living in SLP, and I'm not from here so I don't have family in the area who I can run to for assistance with my car. I was driving north and back over 4th of July weekend, so I was nervous about potential car trouble and what I would do in a bind. That Thursday, I researched auto shops in the area and read good reviews for D&D. Even though the shop was full and even though the shop would be closed on that Friday, the guy told me to stop by and they would do a quick once-over for me. The guy had me pull up to the garage, and he checked my car's oil and fluid levels and air pressure. He topped off my oil and fluid levels and only charged me for the oil. It was a huge relief to know that someone knowledgable had checked my car and that I was in good shape to get on the road.
