The customer service I've received here every visit has been on another level. Sam helped me yesterday with an issue my mom was having with her new debit card. My mom, who isn't the steadiest person at 85 years old, needed to provide two pieces of ID. Sam kindly offered to go outside to the car to get them so my mom didn't have to get out of the car. I couldn't believe it! She said she would do anything for clients, and I saw it first hand. Sam also mentioned the roses were from a client, who brings them every week. If that isn't proof enough of their relationship with their customers, I don't know what else could be. read more

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at Chase Bank. This is now the fourth time they've failed to order my debit card correctly. Four times. That's not a small mistake -- that's a pattern of carelessness. Instead of focusing on doing their job properly and making sure my card was ordered accurately, the representative spent time making small talk and asking unrelated questions. I'm all for friendly service, but accuracy and competence should come first -- especially when it's something as basic as ordering a card correctly. Each mistake has caused unnecessary delays and inconvenience on my end. I've had to keep coming back and following up because the bank couldn't get it right the first time -- or the second, third, or fourth. At this point, it feels like attention to detail and accountability are seriously lacking. I expect better from a major bank. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and focuses on training staff to prioritize doing their job correctly over casual conversation. Very frustrating experience. read more

The bank was empty of customers. I came in before lunch to set up an account. I was told to come back at three. I came back at 3:10 and was told I missed my "appointment ". They didn't tell me it was an appointment and they didn't take my name. The person who set up accounts did not have any people around and I found the entire thing to be rude and unusual. read more

After our relative passed away and the matter went to probate. As administrator of the estate, we tried on three separate occasions at her own san diego chase branch, her own branch!, to get to the bottom of her accounts. We had every possible court document needed to do so. Provided certified copies for the "back office" too. What happened to them after that is a mystery, except to say that on each occasion they were "lost." Calling it a run around would be an understatement. Delayed the probate for months. So we decided to try another branch, the branch in Alpine CA. There, we were fortunate enough to meet and work with a banker named Rogelio Canez. From the start, he understood exactly what we needed, and just as important why. No wasted effort. He bent over backwards to help us right then and there. Same papers, same questions, only now, instead being told he would get back to us in a few days with answers and then ignoring us completely or losing things, like the other branch, Rogelio was competent, attentive, understanding and followed thru on everything immediately. It took Rogelio a matter of hours to accomplish what the other branch never accomplished over many months. read more

Chase Bank has to be the worst, customer unfriendly, bank it's been my misfortune to have to deal with. Especially the branch in Alpine, CA. I scheduled a meeting, specifically noting that a Notary would be needed. After multiple - we're happy to be of service; we look forward to meeting with you; etc - confirmations, I arrived for the meeting. They didn't know what the meeting was for, & further noted that branch (Alpine, CA) doesn't even have a Notary. A TOTAL WASTE of my time. Once I get he matter resolved I am withdrawing every penny from Chase Bank. read more

I'm a senior & have been trying to get my senior friend a bank account here for 2 weeks. We walked in to the Alpine branch 2 weeks ago, 11 am, were told we needed appt to open acct. They said call for appt. I called but to get thru to a local branch you must enter your acct number. Don't get have an acct so no acct number. Very frustrating. read more

Answer your phones!!!!! Called 10 times to this branch, 1 person eventually answered and then I was put on hold and no one ever came back.

HORRIBLE customer service, completely nonprofessional, lacksidaisical attitudes, inability to listen, complete lack of problem solving skills & NO common sense. Last month, my 90 yr old friend (lives alone & struggles with technology) suffered $1000 fraudulent activity on her ATM card. Ath that time she visited the branch to report the fraud. Teller took her statement & said the funds would be put back into her account while the bank did an investigation & proceeded to cancel my friend's cards. After cancelling her card(s), teller THEN tells my friend she has to wait 10-15 days for a new card to be mailed. This left a senior citizen (in excellent bank standing) without a credit /ATM card to buy groceries or gas, pay bills; and God forbid access to medical attention if needed. On a positive note,they did credit her account the fraudulantly stolen funds. Fast forward to today, my friend calls me FRANTIC from the grocery when the clerk tells her the newly issued ATM card doesn't have the funds to cover the cost, thus embarrassing this fine elderly citizen in front of her neighbors, who then offer to cover the costs. I did my best to calm her down, then drove 28 miles so I could take her to the bank to try to figure things out. We start with Teller #1 & try to explain the dilema. She looks at us dumbfoundadly, with her hand covering her mouth, trying to answer ??s. Of course, a 90 yr old can't hear her mummbling thru her hand, so I ask teller #1 to take her hand away from her mouth so we can hear her. Now she's aggitated & tells me she can't speak to me because I'm not on my friend's account. HELLO, my friend has already provided her ID and is standing right next to me & needing my help to understand the situation. Frustrated, I ask to speak with manager. Instead, Teller #2 tries to help & starts asking my friend about her online banking activites, her online purchases, who she's given access to her ATM card, etc. My friend replies that she lives alone, always has her ATM card in her possession & states she's unable to use a cell phone, has no internet & doesn't own a computer. Instead of applying common sense, Teller 2 goes on to interrogate my friend further about her online banking activities, so I remind her my friend doesn't know how to use technology, lives alone & always has her credit/ATM card in her purse. Teller 2 then prints out my friend's bank activities & provides ihem to her. This is when we 1st learn the bank has reversed the credit. At this point, Teller #2 is agitated so refers us to a Manager, which I'd already asked for earlier. At this point, my freind is anxious, scared, confused & terrified her money is gone forever. Finally, we meet with the manager, who for the 1st time tells us the bank reversed the credit (but failed to notify my friend, so now I start to delve into why that decision was made. She couldn't answer, so makes a phone call. I can now tell she thinks I'm suspect by the conversation she is having over the phone. At that moment, I asked her to have the ATM video of the day of the fraudulent activity reviewed, which let's her know I'm on to her and she says they can't provide that. WHAT??? Theres a camera at every ATM so if my friend (OR I) would have withdrawn funds on the day in question, there would be video footage accessible to the bank. Manager is now frustrated, and tells my friend they can't help her, but suggests she file a dispute in writing & gives her the option of withdrawing the last $60 from her account. Can you imagine being 90, on a very limited income with her next SS check not due for 3 more weeks and only having $60 to make it thru when the bank is federaally insured on the $1000 that was fraudulantly stolen from her account? I'm wondering if this could be classified as elderly abuse? I'm wondering if this is lawsuit worthy? read more

Yeah to some extent it's true, a bank is a bank is a bank. This locations is awesome, no they don't know my name when I walk in but everyone is friendly. It helps that they have coffee and hot chocolate if you want (a nice touch I would say). It's centrally located so when we go to lunch I can actually go inside the nearby restaurant and place my order and head to the bank (killing two birds at once) and do my financial business. There you have it... It's a five star in my book. read more

Today I came in ( with no appointment I might add ) & had the opportunity to have Lesley Davies help me with opening up a savings account. She went over all options with me leaving the choice to me. No imposing or anything on what I needed to do. She explained everything wonderfully & answered all my questions! She refunded back some charges for me that I knew nothing about as to the reasons for them. She was absolutely wonderful & will always come back to her for help & will refer everyone I know to her! With a walk-up and drive-up ATM available your banking experience can be quick and painless or walk in and experience the family style 'where everybody knows your name' banking experience. With water available in the waiting area, quick moving lines, and friendly tellers who will treat you like an old friend for the few short moments you are there this trip will almost make you forget the overall Chase experience that have many people running to other banking locations. Careful with your parking as it is a two entrance one way route that can be confusing on your first trip. While you are there you might as well drop by any one of the eateries in the same shopping center ranging from fast food (ew) to home cooked quality. With an easy off easy on freeway experience it's a popular stop for visitors on their way out and in to town. read more

I recently opened an account with Chase for two reasons: 1) I thought it would be more convenient to bank with someone who had a location in Alpine (don't like Wells Fargo so Chase won) and 2) They had a promotion that gives you $100 for opening a new account. So did I get bamboozled? Probably, but oh well. I opened my account online which made it extra easy. Therefore, my only visit to this location was for their drive-thru ATM. Man this review makes me sound lazy (can't open an account in a bank and can't walk up to an ATM..hehe). But anyway, it was easy and quick so I have no complaints. I'll update this if I ever end up going in to conduct business. But I gotta say, I like the fact that I can take care of everything I need to do without having to wait in line in the bank :) read more

I'm a long time WaMu customer who ended up with Chase when they took over. I'll admit that I was worried about the "big bank banking" scenario--I was super happy with WaMu. It almost pains me to say that Chase--and this branch in particular--has been INCREDIBLE in everything that we have dealt with them on. Account questions? No problem! Notary? Yep! Tracking down (alleged) missing payments? You bet! They have helped us with EVERYTHING and done it with a SMILE! These folks are empowered to help their customers and they do it joyfully. Chase, you have really earned my business! I hope the branch in my new town is as great as the one here in Alpine! read more

I have been a customer of Chase since they took over Washington Mutual. I was dismayed to notice that there is a poison rat trap close to the front ATM. Be very careful if you take your dog with you to the ATM. Poisoned dead rodents that are eaten by wildlife, dogs and cats also die a horrible death. There are more humane methods of dealing with rodents. There used to be a couple of feral cats at this location, now they are gone. I am wondering if they ate a dead, poisoned rat and died in the same manner as the rat. Chase have a heart, do away with the poison . read more

I opened an account at chase. Only had the account two months when they decided to raise the fees from 10.00 a month to 15.00 a month. I mean wow to hold my money you charge me. So I decided I was not goin to pay 15.00 a month for them to earn intrest off my money, that i would go to a credit union instead. Besides there free. So needless to say I went to close the account and they charged me $25.00 to close it. INSANE! I want my star back. CHase SUcks .. Go with another bank. read more

After being a loyal customer at this bank for 8 years I will be taking my business to another bank. I was publically humiliatted by the manager when i tried to take out $1100 from my savings account. I did not have my license which was my fault, but she asked the other 2 tellars does anybody know this guy? The other 2 tellars shook their heads no. Can't do it she said. She did say sorry which she probably learned in a customer relations class. Anyway if I was desperate for the money I could.have used their giant atm machine which will be replacing the tellars anyway. I guess you have to be Serena Williams to get decent service. read more

The only reason it even gets 3 stars is because the tellers and staff there are so wonderful and try to accommodate you in any way they can. Chase is just becoming so automated and I'm not liking the direction they are going - and that is away from customer service. read more
