Can't get ahold of anyone on phone. Walked in and can talk to a banker without and appointment. Waited in like for 25 minutes to be told this. Couldn't make appointments because no answer on phone. Went another day early to see banker, waited almost an hour and then was told that the other person on account had to be with me for me to do what I wanted or they could come in themselves to give approval for me to change things I needed to change. That person went in the next day alone and tried to give me access to make changes but was told they couldn't do it without me present. Absolute crap show. Worst customer service ever.. manager doesn't have any sense of urgency.. have been trying to add my husband to my savings account and they never have time, when I was told it takes 10 minutes for them to add him..but every time you walk in, there is no customers and bankers are laughing and chitchatting with each other.. and when teller ask for them to help they can't since they are waiting for their next appointment.. ridiculous. read more

Today, Saturday June 20, 2020, I went into Chase Bank on Rosedale Hwy to conduct a simple routine transaction and was treated extremely rudely by a pompous employee and his manager. I overheard this same employee speak condescendingly to a customer in the drive thru just prior to interacting with me. This has happened a few times since the personnel changed in this branch. I have banked there for 18 years and was on a first name basis with the prior manager and never had a bad experience. I am disappointed that these Chase employees are so unprofessional, I will never enter this bank again! read more

I used to bank with a local Credit Union. This bank is amazing!!! I have NEVER been charged a fee nor have I ever been given the customer service that I have experienced with this bank. I feel like it is a small town bank. Once I went into the Coffee Rd. branch and needed to speak to a banker had to wait a few minutes, nothing too long but I had an appointment so I left. Not 15 minutes later I was called by one of their bankers to see that I was taken care of and apologized for my wait??? What the hell a big bank with that kind of customer service amazing.... At Christmas time I used my debit card a bit more than usual and was more than once called by the fraud department I truly feel this bank has superb customer service and I love this bank! If you aren't happy at the least bit with your bank I would not hesitate to go to Chase Bank. Customer Service is amazing. read more

My son got a check from his first job and they bank with Chase and he got charged for it. What??!! They charge their own checks here $8. And they wouldn't waive it. I've been to other banks with their checks and never ever got charged for it. Here at Chase opening an account fees everywhere. My son doesn't make much. For him to open one. They would've charge him $12. A month WOW! Btw my son is 18 yrs old and graduate this year Well I'll be taking him to our bank. No charge and $5 limit in checking one time fee. read more

Tellers are all very friendly. The line (when there is one) moves pretty quickly. Clean and comfortable. The downfall is when you need help from a banker. They sit at their desks without any clients. And when they are full, the manager, (I'm assuming it's the manager with the office with a door) comes out and asks what is needed and tells you to make appt or wait 30 min for next available banker. It's terrible when a manager doesn't step in when needed to keep a place moving smoothly. Managers that will do work that is "beneath them" in order to do what is best for business are great managers. The computer systems ended up going down so we had to reschedule. When I told the manager it would have been nice if she would have taken care of us earlier, she stated "that's not something I typically do". What a shame. read more

I never knew that a teller can ask you the following when trying to exchange a bill: Here's the scenario: 1. I tried to exchange my $500 (bills in $20s to $100s). 2. Teller asked me if it was from the ATM machine. I wonder why she asked me that question, maybe I look suspicious? scammer? I thought any bank can exchange a banknote without any ridiculous questions. It's the worst chase in all of Bakersfield. Just went there tonight and for the fourth time in a matter of 5 months every ATM was down. The drive thru ATM has been down for 5 months and counting. The people working there are super friendly but the overall bank itself is very poorly managed if I had to guess. Nothing is ever fixed in a timely manor and that's if it is even fixed as shown by the drive thru ATM being down for half a year now. Again nothing to do with the customer service provided by the employees because they are all fantastic. But poor maintenance job. read more

I have a love hate relationship with chase. Nothing wrong with this location. Clean, friendly, yadda, yadda... I like the fact that there's so many locations and everything they offer. What I don't like is getting notifications saying that my bank account is minus and it isn't. Because the notifications are so delayed. I don't like the fact that they'll pull two or three insufficient funds when you put more than enough direct cash in there the day before and I have a back up account has 5k in it. $36- each. When you have money. Sometimes the reverse the charges but it irritated me the last few times they said they couldn't reverse the charges but it wasn't my fault. Now, I also use square and they recently did a chargeback and I had a really fight for my money. I won my $735 eventually but I had so many of those $36- fees in the end of it. As well as $30 stop payments. They removed some. But what a mess!!!! WHY give my money out when it is unauthorized in the first place?? So what I recently did was I got a new bank. I definitely got a new card reader company. I will not be using chase anymore although I've been with them since they were Wamu. Sorry chase square messed it up. But money should never be released unless I say so. read more

I'd like everyone to bow their heads and pray for the repose of the soul of Chase Bank. It's gone, finished, outta here, hasta la byebye, CeeYA. Today was the starw that broke the camels back. I drive up to use the drive thru (Covid-19 lobby closed) and a crazy woman with a clipboard waves at me and says they are closing at 4pm and the line is too long for me to get done by 4. So? what hapenned to the days when they helped everyone in line by closing? Not to mention they are closing 2 hours early. Apparently this essential service has decided to shorten their hours just when we need them the most! Boy do I feel the love. She invited me to stand in a long line to use the walk-up ATM. Sorry I don't have an ATM card for this business account, just need to do a good old deposit. THat thing is dirty filthy and I'm in a high risk group. I've been with them for over 30 years, first with Home Savings (The BEST bank ever!), through the Washington Mutual days (getting worse) to the Chase time (rock bottom). I knew something was up when i got a letter the first of the year notifying me that my fees were going up. DOUBLE or more! My wife and I went down just before the effective date and pulled all the money out of checking and savings and drove over to BOTS. When I was counting my money the teller asked me why we were closing our accounts. I told her about the love letter I got about monthly fees. She told me I should have told them so they could reduce them. Why in the hell would you make all of your long time customers come down to negotiate lower fees for the same shitty service? When we walked into BOTS it was like stepping back to a more comfortable time. Rich wood floors with beautiful wood paneling and counters and teller stations. We were welcomed when we entered and invited to sit in the new accounts area and offerred drinks. I was impressed how easy and efficient it was to open the new accounts even converting them to the name of our Trust. When we were ready to leave we were offerred gifts for each account we openned. That's what I'm talking about! Makes me feel 30 years younger. CHASE take note - either change or die! My business accounts are moving next!!! read more

Two problems: One: When I put cash into my account Chase demands ID. Why? They claim that it is due to banking laws and they even will quote a law that supposedly applies. However, when pressed further they admit that the law does not apply (especially for a few hundred dollars). The reason for this (as conveyed to me by a Chase rep) was that Chase got in trouble for something a while back. So, they started to hassle their customers so that they could tell the regulators what good guys they are. Two: When obtaining foreign currency and then converting it back they claim that "Chase has no fees." However, what they did this last time was used foreign exchange rates that cost me about 14%. I probably have not noticed this in the past because I usually spend most of the cash. This time I used cards exclusively and had 99% of my cash when I returned. When pressed the Chase rep stated that "all fees are collected as part of the exchange rate" but went on to declare that "Chase has no fees"! Ridiculous.! This appears to me to be as close to lying as one can get. When they change the going exchange rates by about 6.5% going and coming - they are charging fees. Calling this robbery by some other name and obfuscating what they are doing is wrong. They should just tell customers what percentage they are paying when they exchange currency. The listed rates versus what Chase used. Chase rates are what they used and real rate is based on going rate at end of day from internet. Chase 0.8007 versus real rate of 0.748027. This is a difference of about 7% Chase 0.6967 versus real rate of 0.746102. This is a difference of about 7% So - Chase claims that there are "no fees". However, you get mauled for ~7% coming and going. I imagine exchanging money at the airport gets you a better rate. I hate this bank and will be moving my business elsewhere. read more

I have been with Chase for twenty years, I was getting a cashiers check and they want to charge an $8 fee. I am now closing my accounts. I asked to see if the manager could waive them and she would not let me speak to the manager. Horrible service. Glad they were bailed out. read more

I have used this bank for many years but the way they do business has changed over the years. You have to talk to a banker to do anything other than a simple deposit. Which means you get to sit ....and wait .....and wait some more. More times than not I just walk out without getting my transaction done. Very frustrating. Will be switching banks soon. This place is ridiculous. I brought a check in here from a chase member who had an account with chase and they refused to cash it because I didn't have a account their. I would expect that when I write a check with my Bank of America check that whoever I give it too will be able to cash it at Bank of America. read more
