Previous experience: I always use the ATM at this site because you can deposit cash and checks in addition to regular ATM functions. Once I left my debit card in the ATM because of the chip, didn't realize for 12+ hours later. Upon realizing contacted this location and they closed my debit card so no one could use it (proactive!) and said they could print me a new one if I came in. Needless to say I went in the same day and was in and out within 15 minutes. What a relief! The have English, Spanish and Polish speakers at this location. Great to help anyone. I'm extremely disappointed and feel misled after years of banking with BMO Harris. We were told…read morethat we could set up kids accounts for our children, complete with debit cards so they could conveniently access their money. We were assured these accounts couldn't go negative and that there would be no charges if they accidentally overspent--this was the whole reason we chose BMO Harris. Unfortunately, none of that turned out to be true. In November 2025, about a year after we set up the accounts my child's account went negative and we were hit with charges. I spent countless hours on the phone with customer service, and even had to visit a branch in person, where I was told the problem was fixed and the charges reversed. Supposedly, the account hadn't been set up as a kids account, but now it was corrected. I trusted that information, but it turned out to be yet another false promise. Today, I found my son's account negative again. After 45 more frustrating minutes on the phone, I was told once more that the account had never been set up as a kids account. To make matters worse, I was informed that if it's actually set up as a kids account, they can't use a debit card at all--meaning the feature we were promised simply doesn't exist. This makes it impossible for my kids to easily access their money, which was the main reason for opening the account. We have multiple accounts with BMO Harris and have been loyal customers for years. It's incredibly disappointing to feel like we were lied to all this time. I hope BMO Harris will take this feedback seriously and make changes so that no other families have to go through this hassle and frustration.

This was one of the worst banking experiences I have ever had…read more I called the bank to dispute two $25 Amazon return fees that I did not recognize. The bank opened an investigation and temporarily credited the amounts back. Shortly after that, the bank decided to close my account. I did NOT request to close my account. The bank made that decision. This was extremely inconvenient because my salary was being deposited into this account and I had to urgently change all my payment and payroll information. To make the situation worse, after the bank closed the account, they charged me a $50 "early closing fee". No one informed me about this fee. No one warned me that closing the account would result in a penalty. And again -- I did not request the account closure. Charging a customer an early closing fee when the bank itself decided to close the account feels completely unfair and unacceptable. Customer service was dismissive and refused to resolve the issue. I strongly recommend people read the reviews before opening an account here. My experience was extremely disappointing.
