I am a First Republic customer for 23 years. Went to this branch to change $200 into $10 bills. Teller said no because I wasn't a customer - could only do $100. Asked for a manager. Waited 10+ minutes and then he said no because I wasn't a customer. I called the First Republic Palm Desert branch and they said no problem. We will have the money ready for you and sorry to take you out of your way. That's how you do customer service. Chase Bank sucks forever. read more

This is an update.... went into the bank today to try to figure out how the wire transfer went wrong. The same woman that talked to us on the phone dealt with it again today. She refused to take responsibility for the teller omitting information about where the funds were to go saying " you verified it and signed it". Yea, well we also objected to some information on that form that didn't match the very descriptive information that we gave her that came directly from the recipient. And when we did, we were told ' just ignore that, it's where it's supposed to go'. She didn't even listen to that part, she was busy repeatedly telling my husband he signed it. First, what bank has tellers doing wire transfers??? Every bank I've ever been in has a bank officer do it. Our teller admitted that he didn't know how to do it and asked someone else. And obviously the other person was clueless as well... because the funds were incomplete in the information on the CHASE form. Second: Since when do I need to do the banks job? We gave them a printed sheet of instructions from the financial institution where it was to go. They were explicit in every detail.... how is it the customers duty to make sure the bank employee knows what they're doing and follows those details? We reviewed the account numbers, the names, dates, objected to an incorrect item that they changed and were told "not to worry about it, it's righit" for info that didn't match our sheet. Third: who trained these employees in customer service? Right...no one! When a customer has a problem, their job is to fix it. You don't keep telling the customer "you signed the papers". What happened to taking one for the team? Saying " I am so sorry that this has happened, I'm not exactly sure what happened but we will do whatever we can to fix it, again, you have our apologies ". No one cares about the customer, it's always about being right. Well, you're WRONG! you've failed customer service 101 AND how to do a wire transfer. Fourth: why do I have to eat the $50 charge from Wells Fargo because the wire failed? It failed because CHASE didn't include all of the information on the sheet that we provided? They gave us our $35 wire transfer fee back but made us eat the WF $50 fee. WTH? This must be how chase pays bonus'. Fifth: as we are walking out a manager came up and said she heard we were upset, was there something She could do? I said no, it was what it was and we were closing both our Chase accounts. Did she say "please come to my office and let's see how we can fix this?" NO. Did she offer any other apologies or even say "I'm sorry you're upset". NO. She turned and walked into the office we came out of. WHAT is a manager for if not to maintain customers??? Worst banking experience of my life and I've been to a few. CHASE...shame on you for not training your employees ... even in their most basic skills. We will be moving our accounts... I know, most large banks are the same or worse... they have millions and millions of customers..s.one isn't important but I'm going to do my research and Chase will be on my s**t list for a lifetime and anyone else that cares to ask. read more

I have been extremely unhappy with Chase Bank. I had a manager meeting to work with my trust account. I had to contact the bank a minimum of 3 times (and gave him documents) and he never returned my calls. In fact, he never followed up with me ever (I opened a new account elsewhere). This seems typical of this branch. I am going to close my current accounts and find a better banking alternative. Very unhappy. PS I would have given 0 stars if I was able. I made an appointment for Monday, 3/15/2021 at 9:00am via the website! I arrived at 9 and as usual, well greeted at the door! That's where the goodness stopped, I told the greeter that I had an appointment with a Mr.Guerrero at 9:00am! She said that he was not expected in for a while so she asked me if she could help so I told her what I needed. She then she could not help me but she would ask someone who was in a cubicle. She then came back and said that I would have to wait at least 30 minutes and I said no thank you and walked out! This place has 2 or 3 people walking around asking why you're there, would you like water but no one can help you with your problem! As you can tell, I'm not a fan of Chase Bank! read more

Literally this branch gets NO STARS!! No one ever answers, but in specific; I was trying to open a trust bank account, two weeks into the process, it is still not open when it should have taken 2 days!! I was working with private client manager, Vincent Guerrero, who after repeatedly asking me for documents both my brother and sister never needed to open theirs continued to give me the run around. I have now left several messages on his personal voicemail to which he never returns my calls. This whole ordeal has been so unprofessional it makes me want to leave Chase all together! Now, I still don't have an account open and thanks to him and Chase's incompetence I have lost 2 weeks of interest on my money! This has been an infuriating experience all the way around! I was a walk-in customer needing to open a new account with a paycheck from Chase Bank. I was told that the funds will take up to 1-7 business days for funds to be available. Not knowing the wait, I had to cash out the check. Account Specialist was a tremendous help. Needing the funds to purchase something important, I had to cash the check. Walking up, no line, the teller had directions from the specialist about my situation. He wasn't very approachable having to put his phone down. Completing the transaction he just pointed to the money counter machine indicating the amount of cash he was handing to me. Straightened up the bundle and slid it over. read more

I'm absolutely livid! I deposited $300 cash through the drive thru ATM and it said it cannot read my cash so it was getting ready to split it back out. Nothing came out and I get a message on the screen saying "please call this 800 number to make sure your deposit was made..." and another message popped up saying this ATM is being service right now. So I went inside the bank hoping they can help me. They said I have to call the number on the receipt in order to get help. WTF?! what's the point of having an actual bank if they can't even help me. The cash is inside the ATM not through a phone call. They would not even help me by calling their own customer service to fix the problem. Ridiculous I felt bad for the people that were in line and in a rush, some people just left because the wait was just too long. Like I get that it gets busy, but mid-afternoon and only ONE teller. This Chase branch in LQ is full of inexperienced employees. Multiple times I would go in there to do BASIC banking and have had nothing but problems with them. Today was the final straw and I have to get it off my chest - I took my business check to them to deposit in my business account and they wouldn't deposit it. I even spoke to their Manager and he wouldn't accept it either. It is so frustrating! I've been a Chase/Wamu customer for decades and no matter how long they have had my business, no matter how many accounts I have, they still pull inexperienced decisions. So what do I do, I go to the Indio Branch and presto! No problems, check deposited, no questions asked. The Palm Desert branch is also awesome, no troubles or anything. I don't know if they train them different in LQ and I keep giving them 2nd chances but not anymore. Avoid LQ branch if possible Chase customers!!! read more

It's money spent stupidly!! They have 1 to 2 agent behind the desk with a line out the door. Only 1-2 agent at 9am.. it took my 40min to get someone. I have been here since 8:55am.. ridiculous!! Be at The ATM at night is so nervous because the key pad for pin is so low, so I have to open my car door to reach down to it and the ATM takes forever to process the transaction! It will be scary if somebody hides himself to hurt you for while you are waiting for ATM's processing! I won't come back to this ATM for my safety! read more

just came to this bank to get a new card because I haven't received the one I was supposed to get in the mail. Basically they threw me out they said they were too busy and I should do it from home or from my app but I needed to speak with someone so I can make sure that the address is correct and just to make sure that everything is up to par. But without hesitation they just said we can't help you were too busy. I'm never going to step foot in that bank ever again read more

The drive thru SUCKS. You would expect an ATM, which would take only a couple of minutes to finish your transactions, but there was a person at the window handling the transactions. She was so slow that it took over 30 minutes for 2 cars. It was so bad that my girlfriend got out of her car and walked inside for quicker service. She came back out within a couple of minutes with everything done and we still had to wait in the car for the people in front to take care of their issues. read more

I just came in because they canceled my card because of fraudulent activity and I haven't received a new debit card for over a week. The worst bank I have ever used. this branch literally has no service and does not care. This is mainly because the executive " bankers" are not providing any servic at all . After four (4) trips to this bank I was unable to perform a five minute administrative function. Turned away every time . They were to busy...average wait time for tellers is fiftee minutes. I have had severe issues over the past 6 months with cashing checks and when they don't know the answer to my question they are quick to say " I don't know I'm sorry" rather than asking someone else or getting on the phone with customer service to figure out what is going on. I am compelled to write a review for outstanding service that I've received from this branch of Chase bank. I have been here a few times now to seek help with my retirement fund and have been impressed with the bankers who have helped me. There are wonderful assistants who help you upon arrival by signing you in and asking your needs to assess your wait times. In addition, the bankers are kind and patient. Went in twice to open multiple accounts. New in town and wanted to change my bank to a local bank. Was willing to make deposits large enough to get me a preferred checking account to begin with and possibly transfer our investment management activities. The ratings are all spot on. Horrible customer service!!!! My wife and I had to freeze our account because of fraud. We were told to go to our local branch and open a new account. My wife got to the branch before I did at 4:15 and spoke to an employee told him the situation and was put on the wait list. He said it was about a 15 min. wait I showed up right after that and we were the next on the list. 30 min later a girl comes over looks at the list and asks why we are there so we explained why we were there and she told us that they were too busy to help us. She told us that we could make an appointment for the following day maybe earlier. I explained to her that we both work and don't get off until 4:00 so the appointment would have to be after that. She told us she has a 4:30 slot open. I looked at her and said your too busy today at 4:45 and we are the next ones on the list and the two bankers that would help us have no one in front of them but tomorrow you would have time? Terrible bank policies. I went in today to cash a check that was written from one of their accounts. The teller informed me that their would be a $6 fee to cash the check, since I don't have an account with them, and since she was doing a 'service' for me. Since when do banks charge for cashing checks that were drawn up from one of their own accounts??? Terrible policy...I refuse to have any further dealings with Chase Bank, business or private. If you are a business owner trying to open a Corp or llc bank account make sure you don't get Catherine to assist you. Horrible experience with her. I'm an accountant and know that business banker usually go out of their way to help you. Not in this case. I was trying to open an account and due to some technical owner percentages of different members I needed their info. So I say those percentages were incorrect. She misheard me. She said since she heard what she thought she heard I would need minutes to show her. First off. I'm an llc. Llc don't have compare minutes. Regardless I was clear that my goal was to open an account. She could of said if this is your situation you need those percentages. Btw, I'm not sure if this branch has been having compliance issues because she spent 10 minutes just on the code of the business saying how important getting the right code is. She is anal on details and looking disqualify you. Catherine should be a loan under writer not a banker. She is also really loud. While waiting I could hear the previous person talk about a fraud charge. Btw. Catherine couldn't help her either stating the client needed to show supported evidence. I know irs agents with more tact and compassion than her. Myself and anything within a 15 feet could hear her entire conversation. Does chase even care about privacy. If ur a business client who doesn't like Anal, loud, compliance centered bankers don't see her. Run away. Fast. Btw micheal opened my personal account there and was great.
