Hughes Wong and staff were very welcoming and accommodating upon my visit. I made an appointment on their website but popped in a day early. I asked the welcoming teller if he was also a notary and she proceeded to his office. He took me in and we got the deed signatures done, then and there. Marvelous! Trip saved and deed complete. I've been a long time customer at Chase but I rarely go into their offices anymore. I recently opened a business checking account and had the best customer service experience at this location. We met with An Nguyen who explained their accounts and provided the best options to make their services work for us. Later we met with Hugh Wong to open a business CD account and once again, everything was exceptional. Hugh made sure I had access to my accounts, which was great foresight to reduce any possible frustrations later. I was very impressed that all details were considered and potential issues were removed. I am happy I moved my business accounts to Chase. read more

IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING INVESTING WITH JP MORGAN, PLEASE READ This is about JP Morgan part of the Chase JP Morgan corporation. While seemingly the same, they are separate organizations and no one from Chase can help with your investment accounts. Recently, due to my mother-in-law's severe illness we needed to withdraw money from her JP Morgan investment account. My wife has had power of attorney for years and has never had any issues with any other services at other vendors but the travails that she has been through needs to be made public. She has been through 2 sets of submissions both of which were reviewed and notarized by local JP Morgan reps only to find out that there were errors made by the reps, by the way, JP Morgan does not notify the customer of the issue, you as the customer must call to check on the paperwork status, I guess email is new to them! This morning we called the 800 number and got a really great run around with them not being able to give us any answer except that we needed to correct the errors..'sorry can't share that info with you' but did tell us that because the signature date was 4/8 and the notary signed it 4/9 it was not legal. That is understandable from a legal point of view, but how is it that the JP Morgan rep who reviewed and certified the paperwork and signature not know the law nor catch any errors. When asked to escalate to a manager we were pushed to another lackey who sounded like he was on a heavy dose off valium and would not give us his last name, employee number nor extension, c;laiming he did not have an extension number. Having been in telecom for 40+ years, I find that hard to believe in a system as large as they have (is this a nice way to say he lied to us?) When asked to speak to a VP we were told there were none and he was as high a person as we could speak with, I guess the VPs are out spending their bonus checks. In the mean time, my mother-in-law is suffering emotional distress and my wife is spending way too much time trying to work with a terrible customer facing organization. read more

Worst banking experience I have ever had. I needed to open a trust account after my fathers death. Stupid mistakes were made by a manager and the account was never opened until I called the 800 number and found out about the mistake. My calls were rarely returned and emails never answered. i went in today to reverse overdraft fees which were a result of bank errors. The money was in the account, the bank alerts were on, but overdraft charged me 6 - $34 overdraft fees ($204), then alerted me the day after the fees were charged (8 am this morning). I talk to Usha, the assistant manager who agreed with me saying, there is money in the account, alerts are on,.this is ridiculous. i can only reverse two and will talk to my manager to help with the others. (Chase as a company knows the overdraft fees and their alerts have been a problem and are cancelling them August 2016.) I then met with the manager who never introduced himself, and then spent the next several minutes starting each sentence with... I would love to help you, but.... Then I called Chase customer service, they saw the error, reversed the fees, wished me a good day. Thanks, Usha for trying, you clearly have your work cut out for you. read more

This branch needs to be evaluated by chase specific a employee name Diego (manager) it was normally business hours that I went to this location with my husband because I want to add him on my account. Visually he had no one and did not look like was in any phone call at the moment because he was looking straight at me. He told the teller to tell us he could not help us because he was with a client??? How??? Well I was very frustrated and angry because I been a customer with Chase for a long time . I hope chase considers his banks surveys and investigate this employees and their customers services. I will not recommend this branch to do business with. Maybe consider another bank. read more

I went to the Los Gatos Chase branch to close my deceased sons checking account. The amount is less than $2000. The death certificate was not enough the first time so I returned with additional documentation the second time. Today I returned for a third time and was told they were still unable to close the account because there was some centralized handling of the account that wasn't complete. The agent who told me to return this afternoon did not bother to call to tell me it was delayed so I went and now must return a fourth time. It is stressful dealing with the death of a son and also stressful wasting my time and gas. read more

I no longer do banking at this branch. The regulations on masks changed on June 15, and they refused to follow them. Said they had their own rules. Every business I have gone into since June 15, there is a choice whether you want to mask or not. If required to wear a mask, I don't go in. They waited until I was in the middle of the transaction to push a mask on me. I refused (as is my choice) and left. Not going back. read more

My wife and I came into this branch on a Saturday afternoon to change her last name on her debit card and 2 credit cards as we recently married. We went to the main counter, informed the teller what we were in for, who then told us we needed to wait for a banker (totally understandable) and it should only be 5-10 minutes, as there were only 2 bankers in (also understandable, as it was a Saturday afternoon). After 10-15 minutes, the teller told us it should only be another few minutes, the 1st banker was just finishing up. Another 10 minutes pass, and the teller tells us again it should only be another few minutes (and we've yet to see the 2nd banker she mentioned was in). Another 5-10 minutes go by and the manager Dima comes by to apologize for the wait and to let us know she should only be 2-3 more minutes. Dima then proceeds to confirm that we do in fact have our Marriage Certificate with us. WHAT?! Just our luck, we've waited this long and we don't have that form with us as we brought my wife's new Drivers License with her with her married last name and assumed this was sufficient, but Dima informs us we have to bring in our Marriage Certificate. At this point I was extremely frustrated, and it was visible on both my wife's and my face, as we just sat there for over 30 minutes after telling the teller what we were in for, only to be sent home to retrieve our Marriage Certificate. Dima apologized again and told us he would waive any fees associated with getting new checks (which was definitely a nice gesture) once we return. 10 minutes later, we walk back into the branch, Marriage Certificate in hand, and sit back down. The teller tells us again the banker is going to be a minimum of 5 more minutes. WAIT, WHAT? She originally told us 5-10 minutes nearly 45 minutes prior (when we first got there), and now it's going to be another 5 minutes? 2-3 minutes later we overhear the teller tell the banker in the back "oh yeah the couple is here again". Shouldn't the teller have told the banker and/or manager this as soon as we walked in? At this point both my wife and I contemplated leaving, but we had already spent enough time waiting that it wasn't worth it to go to another branch or come back another day (and risk having the same amount of a wait). FINALLY, at least 10 minutes later, nearly an hour from when we originally got to the branch the banker finished with the couple she had been working with and called us over. She was very apologetic about the wait, and she was very helpful in getting my wife's new debit card and checks ordered, as well as calling the credit card department so my wife could have her 2 credit cards ordered. She then proceeds to tell us that we are going to be charged for the checks, and we need to call in once we see the order has posted to our account so they can then refund the amount for the checks. Seems extremely silly that the bank can't just waive $23.95 so we don't have to go through watching our account and calling once the order had processed, but at the end of the day we did get free checks for our hour+ wait. I just really wish this situation had been handled differently. Again, I understand there being a wait when we come in on a Saturday to have something like a name change done, but it was totally unacceptable to be told continually "5 more minutes" when in fact that was not the case. Either an additional banker needs to be present during operating hours in the case that one banker is tied up for 45+ minutes, or a manger should be able to help out with this. And $23.95 for 4 packs of checks...really?! That's an absurd amount for checks. Next time we order checks I'll either go back to Costco for ordering checks where we can get twice as much for half the price or get checks (offered for free) from my credit union and use that account for checks. read more

I've been going to this bank for 3 years, it's the nearest for cash change. This place is a Hit or miss, u either get stuck up, rude tellers bc it's Los Gatos or a sweet teller. I really hate writing anyone a bad review but this time when I went in there there was no one at the counter, I waited for a bit before anyone notice there was someone there. I ask for some small change and she(robin) was so rude she just threw the money in front of me and in my life I never ever experience any service like this today. PATHETIC. Here's an example: I write a check for $50 to my 17-year-old daughter. She drives down to Chase to get the cash. There's no holds, plenty of funds. They ask her if she has an account-Why? I have an account, I wrote the check, and oh, she's my DAUGHTER! They tell her she should have an account, but "We'll make an exception" and cash the check. The THIRD time this happened, I called to speak with the manager. He gave me a story about increased banking regulations and restrictions on cash disbursements. Didn't pass the smell test, and it's not what other banks do... To review the facts: * 25 year old account history * Plenty of funds * Small value check * Payee has same last name as name on check * She has a driver's license to prove who she is * She is my MINOR daughter If you add those up, particularly the last three, you realize that this is an important check, one that I really want honored. Sorry, JP Morgan Chase. The only words that should come out of your mouths during this transaction should be, "Thank you. Is there anything else we can do for you?" How do I know that those words are acceptable to the banking industry and its regulators? Because those are the words that Wells Fargo says, now that we've switched. Just as courteous, more branches and ATMs, no whining about her opening an account. And strangely, no stories about banking regulations and restrictions on cash disbursements. Life is too short. There are 2 Chase banks in Los Gatos, Santa Cruz avenue is the branch i am referring to. I needed to down load statements for 24 months for my 2018 and 2019 Taxes. When i went in to see the business associate who I will not mention her name, to get the statements for 2 prior years in excel. I was told that it only comes in PDF and i would have to have them mailed to me. In which i received an email later that day due to the current situation they will not mail them out. I have been working with this branch since i moved back to the states a few years ago. Mind you i have paid out two very large lines of credit in January of 2020. So i decided to go to the branch on Los Gatos BLVD. Not only was the manager and the business banker apologetic they put me in touch with a person who walked me through the excel download. I will not be going back to the SC Avenue branch ever again. And if my business was not so engaged to the bank i would have moved to another bank. I find it absolutely unprofessional to just lie to me and send me away without a solution. read more

We do all of our banking at Chase and this branch does not have decent customer service. Every single time I go in, it's a 30+ minute wait to talk to a banker, which is the only reason to enter the bank.There are rarely any customers in there, so it's very confusing why there is such a long wait time. I have kids and waiting that long for a 5 minute thing can be pretty frustrating. I called once and they were not helpful and insisted I come in so they could "input data" that they could have easily done over the phone. I wasn't about to go wait for another 30 minutes for that. My husband has complained about the long wait a long time as well. My mother used to be a Chase client since she lives very near this branch and she closed it due to the long wait times and said it always seems like people are standing around with nothing to do, yet people are waiting to be helped. She is much happier at her new bank. I'm tempted to close my accounts as well. If they just improved their customer service, it would be really nice. read more

I went in to open a checking account the other day. I have always had great credit (720 score and owned housed and cars without missing a payment ever). But I was a victim of ID theft ($74K in total) and it has been a nightmare ever since. Brandon who helped me was not only understanding but helpful beyond belief. I was not only able to open my accounts (more than one) but he treated me so respectfully that I just had to write a review. Thank you Brandon and thank you Chase. This bank has become way too focused on bank fees and cost accounting and has zero ability to treat people like customers. I use the ATM here all the time and have a Chase credit card, but going in to change out some $20 bills after using their ATM and they won't even acknowledge you at the teller window unless you're a customer, which is itself obnoxious. But then I point out that I have a Chase credit card and she has to actually log my credit card number in before she can open her cash drawer, which is intrusive data collection at s minimum, inefficient probably, and again completely obnoxious. Something that should take 20 seconds turns into a five minute exercise. The teller was completely oblivious to the reason for my frustration as well. read more

This was a good bank when it was WAMU, but now when I go in with questions I either get the wrong information or no answer at all. Today was the most annoying of all. I went in yesterday to see about opening an account on which I got a promotion letter; the bank officer said I could open it but would need to bring in the actual offer. To all Chase bank customers. BEWARE of this bank. As a customer of this bank for 15+ years I am appalled at their suspicious and unfair banking practices. They closed my business checking account with no notification when I had $ 20k in my account. It took them two days to give me the reason my account had been closed when I was told it was because of unusual acitivity. The only thing that could have been called unusual was the fact that I had taken out a large amount of cash a few months earlier. Whats unusual about that? I have every right to take out my money in any manner that I choose. Three days prior to closing my account they returned 4 checks unpaid, even though I had the $20k in the bank. After closing my account they returned another 11 checks unpaid. I only found out that my account had been closed when I began to get phone calls from vendors I've been dealing with for 40 years, telling me my check had been returned unpaid. After my acct was closed I was told the funds had been sent to my residence, which I sold in July but had never even given the bank that address. My business acct had always been under my PO Box business address. It took three days, a call to corporate and my threatening to get the police involved before I was physically able to pick up a second check from them. So if you see me in front of the bank protesting you'll know why...I'll be there until they reimburse me for the returned check fees I've been stuck with for all the checks they returned unpaid, there were 15 of them total. So, great job, JP Morgan, you're doing a really stellar corporate job. NOT! read more
