I have been coming to this branch for 4+ yrs now, and have always found the tellers to be ready, helpfull and available. Of the few times I needed a mgr assistance, she was polite, courteous and available as well. I've been in/out in usually under 10min. if I could change 1 thing, it would be the horizontal parking, as you have to exit then turn right on LG Almaden. it would be better to exit the side street when one needs to go left. But years of doing this, I just adopted and go across the street to Whole Foods after to get something for the evening. read more

This branch is horrible with customer service. The employees appear frustrated and are of no help. I went in one day to deposit a check written to me and my legal team by my insurance company. Long story short, the check was signed off by both parties but this branch would not let me deposit it. The branch manager refused to help. I took my check to a different branch and the employees there were amazing! The branch manager at this other location stepped in and took the extra step to verify the check and once completed the deposit was made with funds available immediately. If I could give zero stars I would. The Los Gatos branch customer service and expertise in banking is a zero. I waited three days to receive a return phone call which I ended up having to follow up on to get an answer. The explanation I received from the banker is not correct either. capitola office closed and can never get a person from the branch in los gatos office to answer the phone, I called at least 8 times in one day. When you are trasferred to the call center they are so rude unhelpful and they disconnect the call. its impossible to get a human on the phone their automated system is a endless buttons. read more

If I could give a zero star I would, I went into his bank June 28, 2021 trying to cash a check a customer wrote to me. I am an electrician, so I get checks from many people all the time. I don't want to open an account at every branch I come across. And sometimes it's not convenient for me to run to my bank to make a deposit and wait for a few days for it to clear. Sometimes I'll need the cash immediately to pay helpers. I wouldn't even mind having to pay the five dollars or whatever they charge to cash it, but now they're saying there's no option at all. What a garbage response... I was told that they do not cash checks for people who are not account holders with them anymore. So you are basically forcing people to either sign up for an account with Citibank or just flat out refusing to cash a note from your bank. You wonder why people give you bad reviews? I placed an order for foreign currency to be sent to my local Branch for a school trip my son is going on. I was told by the gentleman I placed the order with over the phone that my currency would be there Tuesday. I called the branch mid Tuesday morning and the money wasn't there. Okay. They left me a message late in the day letting me know it had arrived. I go into the branch to pick it up. I am told there is someone at their safety deposit box and I have to wait until they come out. Okay. What I didn't know is that unlike other branches, this one doesn't have a private room to go with your box and a lady was cleaning hers out for 20 minutes. When she came out, the head teller, who has been very nice the whole time, asked for help in getting into the vault from I assume was the branch manager or assistant manager. She was rude to the teller saying I needed to wait because the lady who closed out her box now wanted to open a new box with her husband who wasn't there. Lord. Finally a new accounts girl helped out poor Mia Assadi. It took 1/2 hour to get 300 euros at the branch, when that money, since I had called to say I was going to pick it up that day, should have been in a tellers drawer. Mia was great but while I waited, I watched another teller arrive, spend his time coughing and taking tape to his shirt to get the lint off. I usually do my banking with the Citibank branch in Capitola, CA (1995 41st Ave, Capitola, CA 95010), but I've stopped into this branch several times while in the Los Gatos area, and it lives up to my expectation of the service I've received from Citibank. Not a good location. Citi has always screwed up my accounts and isn't helpful. They also have bulletproof glass between the tellers and the customers (in Los Gatos). I avoid this place. My mom has had an account with Citibank for many years. When she moved up to LG from the LA area, we continued with Citibank. Since she's getting older, she wanted me to have power of attorney on her account. The staff at Citibank assisted us with doing this... and then promptly LOST the paperwork and the account was frozen! My mom's account was frozen for almost a month. That means any checks she wrote bounced and any checks coming in were not deposited. We're still dealing with trying to repair the damage from Citibank's error. The issue still isn't resolved, and we've switched to Wells Fargo now. Ham, the branch manager, is a nice guy, but his staff is incompetent. read more

Had issues with another big bank so tried this out for a simple but large (tens of thousands) savings account. 10 months later I get a check with the entire proceeds from the account telling me the account is closed. WTF? Should've trusted my instincts when the person who helped me open the account was complaining about corporate and having a hard time entering data into the computer fields. I beg to disagree. I'm a regular at this bank and can speak highly about the employees there. You did get a receipt did you?. Branches conveniently cater payment for their credit card dept. customers, and it is a great service and as far as I know, that payment will show next day on their end.. Maybe you misunderstood. It just took the teller 35 minutes to cash my check. No line. The manager left early and the tellers didn't know how to cash it. Wtf.

We have been banking with citibank for over 20 years. Combined, our ave. balance for all our accounts is over 300k. I wanted to wait for Manu who is always nice, but he was busy and I got Lores Devera. When she gave me my receipt I saw there was no balance. So I said under my breath ' what the heck? Why is there no balance? ' to my surprise she said loudly so everyone can hear ' YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SO MEAN!'. I'm thinking I didn't do anything mean & explained that the word heck is not a swear word .i thought she would apologize for being so sensitive . Instead she said all our clients are nice & you are the only one who isn't. Now I'm looking at these yelp reviews and it seems a lot of people had been truly dissatisfied with their service for a long time . This bank had been using my money for so long and yet the customer service is absolutely incredibly bad! I feel that this location has rude employees. My husband made a credit card payment at this location (I usually make payments at Blossom Hill and Almaden and it's always smooth over there) But this bank opened their doors at 9 am - so in went hubby to make a payment. Guess what at the start of opening their computers were down.... So hubby got a hand written receipt for the payment - teller said as soon as the computers were up she would post the payment to the credit card account. After checking the internet all day long and not seeing any payment in the pending area - I called Customer service twice - was told it takes 24 hrs. I called the bank back to make sure the transaction was done the next day and told by the bank manager that she would have to look into it. Then received a call 20 mins. later from the teller stating she had done the transaction and it now takes 2-3 days to post cuz I wrote a check.... Ya really think I'm going to write a bad check and get sonked by fee's... like dah. How come the other branch on Blossom Hill / Almaden post it right then and there even when you write a check???? POOR - POOR Customer service. I am SOOOOO glad we took our savings out of Citi bank at a 1/2 percent interest rate and put our money else where to get a 5.0% rate of interest. The interest rate on the citi bank visa is 17.74% and I have a credit score of 805 - NEVER been late on a payment and always paid OVER the min. payment. I deposited several miilion a year via my business in Los Gatos. The tellers were polite and I liked the online connectivity and service. One day the manager called me and warned me about cash withdrawals. I explained that every cent was accounted for in record keeping and tax returns. They then shut my accounts down and even my 10 year old son's savings account. Rude manager and rude policy. I'm now with Wells Fargo (who bends over backwards for my deposits) next to Lunardis in Los Gatos. read more

I have four accounts with this bank and I would have to say that about 8 out of every 10 times I need to do something, either on-line or at the bank, something goes wrong. When it comes to customer service and the ability to deliver confidence, the Starbucks around the corner puts this place to shame. The only thing I like is the personal account on-line interface. It's easy and super current. The on-line business account interface is horrible and is always about two days behind. That just seems crazy to me. As a small business owner, I just hate never really knowing what is going on with my money. And the ATMs are the worst. I have never been able to withdrawal large amounts of money from the ATM, unless I break it up into smaller amounts. So...I can't take out $1000, but I can process five $200 withdrawals back to back. Weird. And now they have the new ATMs that count your cash and scan your checks. Since these were put in place I've had one check rejected (which was a check from the state of California) and another printed check that the machine added $10 in value to. How can you trust a bank with your money with that going on? And working with the newer ATMs takes twice as long...and my GAWD....put a f-ing table or something near the ATM where someone can put their keys, or a purse or a wallet or the items they are depositing. Who thought of an ATM design as stupid as this? The other thing I really hate about this bank is the large plastic safety barrier that protects the tellers. No other bank in Los Gatos seems to be doing this. I can understand the matter of safety and such, but it really makes the process of talking with a teller difficult (and cold) and it's like they use it to treat customers poorly knowing that they are protected. I've had several cases where the tellers were very rude, (one day I had a teller that didn't say a single word to me. She was really pissed off at something). And even more cases where I've walked in to see a fellow customer just losing it over how pissed off they are about something. How could a business be so bad that customers have mental breakdowns in their lobby where there are yelling and screaming over trying to get something done? I never see this at any other business!! Not just once, but many times. Makes me wonder how often this happens? Lastly, I had the worse experience ever when I went to open my small business account. The guy that managed this was the worst that he could have been at doing his job. And when I filed for a loan, I got stuck with him again...and not only was he super slow and stupid, he totally fudged the application in order to help me get the loan. I never asked for that and didn't even want it, he just did it and told me about it like he was really helping me out. I lost all respect that day for this bank. I think this guy is now gone as I haven't seen him lately but he was there for a very long time and that makes me question the management of this bank. The ONLY thing I like about this bank is the old Russian guy that is a teller. He's a little interesting at first, but he's super friendly and just nails it everytime I go there. No problems, no questions...just get's it done and seems happy to be doing what he does. If everyone there was like him I would be one happy camper. I'm just about ready to depart from this bank and would NEVER recommend it to anyone. I hope they can spin it around and make it right, but for how deep the problems are with this location and Citibank in general, (their credit cards are horrible) I doubt that is ever going to happen. But I sure hope this review lights a fire under someone's butt. read more
