I would never recommend coming here. I was opening a credit card with them for which I was pre-approved. The process was fast, but they gave me a credit limit that was half of what I was pre-approved for. They had no explanation for this and didn't even want to make a call to find out what happened. I generally only utilize the ATM machines but I despise that banking is done with my back to the parking lot. There is no sense of security when going in the evening I do like that I can get cash in increments smaller than a $20 bill and LOVE the paperless receipts. Parking is plentiful. When I have utilized the indoor banking it has always been fast and clean. I don't care for the policy that someone can't deposit cash into my account. If they have my digits and wish to make a deposit....I say let them. It's not like a withdrawal is being done. It's an odd policy to me read more

I went to a different branch and they were able to help me easily. These people are just rude and careless. They don't care about anyone else and shouldn't be in the customer service field. I had an appointment with Peyman Seyedi on 9/23 Friday afternoon to get some documents notorized. The appointment was made a week in advance but I only get his call an hour before the appointment stating that there is no one to notarize my documents at this branch, despite that 1. I was told there is and made an appointment well in advance. 2. In my notes to Peyman, I had also request him to let me know if this is a free service. Needless to say, because of the lack of response and customer service, I was informed right before the parties were all lined up to head to your branch to get notorized. What a joke! I asked him to give me a call back since "find another branch that does notary service" is such a push around for someone who did confirm that your branch does provide notary service, and I had a legit appointment made. Much can change in a decade. This Chase used to be a Washington Mutual, before the subprime mortgage crisis left WaMu insolvent. The adjacent shopping center used to be the barren Mervyn's Plaza, before it was renovated into the present-day Santa Clara Shopping Center. How we do personal banking has also changed a lot in the past 10 years. I can now do most of my banking from my phone. But for the rare occasion when I need to interact with an actual banker, this Chase has me covered. The inside of the building feels quite spacious. On a weekday afternoon, there were only two tellers serving customers, despite there being like 8 teller booths. Fortunately, I only had to wait a few minutes. My teller was friendly and was able to access my account after I presented my driver's license, since I didn't have my debit card on me. This is a convenient location and there's a dedicated parking lot. Facing the parking lot outside are 3 ATMs, for those times when you need to go to the bank but don't want to interact with a human. In the future, the need for going to the bank altogether may become a remnant of the past. read more

Bob was one of the two tellers helping a long line today. He was never stressed and gave everyone such respect. He helped us with a number of transactions and was so patient (I filled out all my forms to make things efficient) throughout the entire transaction. Really nice guy. This location has two exterior ATM's that accept deposits. During peak hours there are 3 to 5 tellers inside and an express line (one transaction only). There are several customer service representatives. No one has ever been anything but pleasant to me. Chase is a behemoth bank, so if you can't handle that go somewhere else. But at least this branch does its best to offer customer service with a local bank feel. read more

This bank caused me to question my history of banking with Chase. I am still so frustrated and irritated that I am seriously pondering removing my multiple accounts to another bank. Including going through a refinance just so I don't have to deal with them again. To keep a really long story short, let's just say that I suffered the following: 1. Lack of service in a timely manner. Meaning, you can stand in the waiting area for a long time and no one will help you. I walked out twice after 5 minutes. 2. Point the finger. Meaning, I don't know the answer, but this person does. No, wait,,,,this person does. Bah, just kidding, this person does. Oh wait. Nevermind. None of us know the answer. 3. Lack of verification. So, they said they could do something for me. I then jumped through several hoops, drove to other locations to get info and notary (because the notary was never there when they said they would be there) to get this something done. 6 weeks go by and nothing. I call back to find out "Oh, we really can't do that for you". Seriously? 4. Are you really a customer? No way??? I thought you were just asking me a question for the hell of it. I am really so pissed at this bank that I am writing a letter to someone in a cubicle at the Main Big Wig Corporate office of Chase. So you can't open an off-shore account here to hide your "extra earnings". You may need to wash your money elsewhere. The staff is pretty cool and they give you free coffee. You can lease a safe deposit box here to secure all of your valuables while you're away: important documents, incriminating photos and other contraband that may not be subject to a search warrant. As a kick, next time you have your paycheck, cash it in here and when they ask you how would you like your money ask for it all in $2 bills. They'll do it. read more

I opened my account at this bank several years ago and the service has always been outstanding. The tellers are really helpful and understanding of my needs. Thanks to all of them! Most of the time when I go in during my lunch hour, the lines are not as long as I expect. But, when the lines do get long, they are really good about taking people out of line doing straight deposits which really helps the line go down faster. read more

Never been inside so can't tell you how the customer service is but the layout of the bank parking lot is pretty bad. First off they shouldn't have closed it in with one entry and exit ways. Secondly people like to park in front of the ATM where they could potentially block the entryway and cause an accident, very annoying habit but that's not the bank's fault. The walk up ATM is shielded just in case it rains but can be a potentially easy place to get robbed, so I advise you go at night with a friend or during the day only. It's closed off with on person in one person out but has three ATMS. The bank is pretty big and I'm sure it's as clean inside as it is outside. I hate having to call wamu but going to the branches despites how infrequently I actually do that is always pleasant thanks to the great people that work at the branches. My younger brother was even able to intern there for a while and enjoyed a great high school experience thanks to the great participation wamu has with the local community. They have recently really improved their online banking system but I only wish they had more branches and ATMs so I could drop bofa altogether as I hate going to a bofa except for the fact there are so many of them and their online system had previously been better. wamu's recent online update allowing bank-to-bank transfers took care of that though. I've been a loyal, satisfied customer since I first needed a checking account for my first job back in 2000. At this branch, the staff is helpful and nice. There's free coffee to boot. Service can be slow not only at the tellers but at the desks. One note...the parking lot is a ONE-WAY parking lot, so don't try to get into the lot by entering on the Mervyn's Plaza side (the wrong side for entering the lot)...that's why the arrows are painted on the asphalt. My parents had a safety box for many years. In the Chase system it showed as 653 (not real numbers). My parents had the key to 912 (not real numbers). My parents tried to access their safety box. While my parents were waiting for the employees get out their safe, the Chase employees lock themselves in the safety vault for 5 minutes and they couldn't get themselves out using the key. Instead Peymen who was locked in the vault with his manger, opened the vault from the outside using his key. Luckily the vault has the wide holes. It was a disaster for my parents. read more

I opened a sapphire banking account here. There was a promotion of getting 60k UR bonus points as a sign up bonus. As part of the deal in opening the account I had to bring in $75k of new money to the bank and which could be brought in as money or securities in either checking account/savings account or a brokerage account. The brokerage account with chase is a self-directed brokerage account called "You Invest". I was told by the branch manager (or at least the person who deals with the brokerage side of things Michael Gaffari) that "You Invest" was not part of the deal and would not qualify for the bonus and I had to open a managed account. This was a lie. And I am pretty sure he knew it was a lie. Michael wanted to force me to open a managed account instead of a self-directed brokerage account to skim commissions. Very sleazy! In any case I of course did not believe him and do not trust him at all. If you have business at this branch you should be sure that not all the advice given to you will be in your best interest. Some of the people at this branch are genuine, nice and down to earth but some act like they are selling used cars instead of banking products. Beware and trust your gut feeling! read more

Customer service as far as the tellers are very nice and pleasant. The reps on the side w/cubicles are useless and a waste of time to speak with. Not at all encouraging about applying for a credit card. As if you are discouraged from applying. My son and I came in today and was assisted by an Asian gal. We explained the situation (no credit, trying to establish) and she immediately seemed standoffish. Said I can run his credit but instead of saying he won't qualify, she left it as that. I explained, all of his money is here in the bank (thousands) and you can't help him? Useless!! He will be taking his money out of Chase and into the credit union. read more

For someone who use to work at this branch when it was Wamu/Chase. It is ridiculous how they do things here now. In the past anyone who is available if a customer needs to get into their safe box would be able to help. I usually have the patience and understanding but today in the middle of the day when bankers are busy and teller line is completely empty they should help the bankers out. Not every customer should be sent to bankers due to their tactics of wanting to cross sale. Over 30 mins and still waiting in order to go into my safebox to pull out my passport which takes literally 1 minute. All this waiting while the teller sits and wait for other customer. " bankers has a process they have to do" yeah it's call verifying the customer in which anyone can do. This is ridiculous and poor customer service. Please bring back the safebox line! read more
