My mother was cashing in a check about a month or so ago, and the manager herself said "I'm not comfortable for casing this big of a check" racially profiling my mother. My mother didn't want to start any issues but I feel that she was disrespected and embarrassed by this manager. She ended up going to the branch in Mountain View and they cased the check out no problem. I cannot describe the amount of disappointment I have in this branch, specifically the manager. And based off other reviews of the manager I believe this isn't the first time this has happened. read more

Walked in the door and there were about 10 people in line in front of me . No problem- it's the only branch in the local area open on Saturday I can wait. While waiting in line I observe them turn away 3 people that for whatever reason they aren't able to help. My turn comes up and I'm ready to open my business bank account. I've been ready for the last few weeks ; I have all my documents. The lady (Ms Sun) [who actually came from a different branch] immediately tells me that she can't do it today but that she can send me a link to do it online . I tell her how I don't like to do it online and she insists she can't do it for me today . Complete waste of time . I've been a Loyal customer of US Bank for over 10 years . Never am I flat out turned away in such a manner . Complete disregard of people's time . I also called before heading over and they did not answer the phone ! They are clearly short staffed if they are turning away clients because they can't fulfill their needs. BRANCH MANAGER NICK JONES you need to hire more help for your store on Saturdays. read more

Was a customer of Union Bank for over 40 years -- never had a problem. Starting the first month that US Bank took over Union, fraudulent charges started to appear. US Bank's solution? You guessed it, open a new account. Had to buy new checks and deposit slips, change all of my payment information, and update all incoming ACH deposit information -- hours of work. And then, it got worse. They started holding my deposits for 10 days EVEN THOUGH the bank issuing the checks I deposited cleared my them within 24 hours. What would you call not crediting someones account for nine days after US Bank actually received payment? Theft? In Oct alone, they have ripped me off for about $300 in interest by holding my checks for days and days after they actually cleared. Then, when I had more than adequate funds in my account they returned a large check NSF. Because? Because they stupidly put double holds on my deposits and showed my account overdrafted. The local branch people are very nice and when they were Union Bank they had the authority to deal with their customers. US Bank gives them zero authority. US Bank doesn't trust their own employees. My only question to US Bank is: Are you just plain stupid or are you crooks? Well, since every fraudulent posting, illegal hold, and messed up accounting was in their favor, one must assume that they are crooks. If they were merely incompetent, at least a few of their "errors" would have been in my favor -- that never happened. STAY AWAY FROM US BANK! So sad to see a good bank like Union Bank bought up by a no service, incompetent, anti consumer outfit like US Bank. If you have large transactions and actually need banking services, try any other bank! read more

This review is for US Bank's loan officer Andrew Thavisouk and the mortgage loan service he offered, not the services at this bank's location. I was referred to me by my friends and he was helpful and communicative in guiding me through my loan process initially. However, I was originally told that my appraisal was waived but later revoked because there was an internal mixup on my loan application with another applicant. So they had to rush an appraisal to meet the close deadline. The house was a fixer but the appraisal came in much lower than my offer and expected (even in this crazy market), and my agent's appeal was overturned by their bank. My locked-in rate was changed to a much higher rate because of the lower appraisal and lower loan amount. Not wanting to lose the house, I had no other choice but to move forward with the higher rate. Before closing, Andrew promised me that he'd help find ways to get me the original rate I was given by US Bank. After I closed on the house, I reached out to him to follow up on the refinance but guess what? No phone call, text or email returned. As a first time homebuyer, it's already a nerve-wrecking experience to pour my life's savings. But Andrew and US Bank managed to make this experience worse. I do not recommend US Bank or Andrew for a mortgage loan. read more

This is the second time I have deposited money into the ATM attached to their bank and it stole my money. I put cash in and it prints me out a receipt saying that my transaction was declined. I immediately went into the store and told a teller what happened and he said their was nothing he could do and I just have to call the number on the receipt. I called the number and the representative on the phone told me their was nothing she could do either!!! I don't know why no one is willing to help me get my money back. I have been a customer with us bank for 10 years and they treat me like garbage and this is the second time one of YOUR atms took my money. I had been going to this branch when I worked nearby for 6 years, then I changed jobs. Today I still find myself driving a little further (from Mountain View) because this branch is my favorite: Full service, safe deposit boxes, and always knowledgeable, efficient/courteous service no matter the reason you are there. Today I had an unusual deposit of Ike dollar coins that I had inherited from family: Tyler and Nick helped find out the best way to count and get them deposited. No matter which US Bank branch we've gone into, locally or while traveling. The service is always the same. They greet you with genuine friendliness and desire to help you with whatever you need, and that's even before they know that you have accounts with them. Whenever I've had a special need, they take care of it efficiently and with a smile. If you need extra help or information, they take the time to fully inform you and answer your question. They never act like they are too busy or that your question is unintelligent. It doesn't get better than that. With the use of ATMs I don't speak with the tellers/managers directly as much as I used to, but I always know that when I have the need, they will always take care of me with the same smile and helpful attitude as they've always had since they have been in our area. We were grandfathered into US Bank as they took over the small local Coast Federal Savings we had accounts with many years ago. So glad it was US Bank that took over. Since that time, we see US Bank branches everywhere, so the convenience is exceptional. When the banks failed recently in the BIG economic downturn, US Bank did not fail. When I spoke with one of the managers, I was told it was because US Bank did not get involved in the shady mortgages that so many banks sold to people who were totally unaware of the consequences of their mortgage choice as they were not fully informed. US Bank did not want to get involved in any poor business methods that could be termed bad business for both their customers and themselves. Why would anyone bank with anyone else since they have such high standards for themselves. I like their attitude! I hope they never change and don't believe they will. read more
