Chase Bank is like that ex you swear you'll never get back with. Absolutely awful when you're "in a relationship" with them (fees, nonsense, the whole circus). I left them because as a customer they're downright terrible. But here's the thing, every time I walk in to make a deposit (because life forces me back into the building like it's a bad sequel), they're suspiciously... nice. Smiling. Helpful. Polite. Practically handing me candy and warm towels. It's all a trick. They're trying to reel me back in, like, "See? We're nice people! Come open another account so we can disappoint you all over again." This is the worst bank I've ever been to. The customer service is non existent. When I asked to speak with the manager, I was told to wait in the seating area because they were not sure how long it would be. I said I would prefer to wait at the window hoping it would get them out faster. I was told I would need to move to the seating area or leave the bank. This is the closest bank to my home.The problem is they have high fees.They have two ATM machines but half the time it seems like they are out of order or out of money.The parking lot is always busy with customers wanting to use these ATMS.When I complain to tellers they will say it's not my department or act shocked ATMs are not working. This place is always busy and they don't have enough staff to assist. You guys charge me so many fees that I would think you could afford to properly staff your branches. This place is absolutely horrific. They enrolled us in their "Private Client." Took two visits to the branch. Moved 250K of our assets to Chase. And then? A descent into hell. We have two businesses. Could we really trust our business to this business? In a word? NO. Not even close. We ended up going to US Bank. Superior service. Employees who remember things, who are smart, who can read email, who know how to use their systems and who value people. Absolutely the worst bank ive ever been in. There is literally 1 person working the entire bank and the customer service is awful. When you drive up to the atm its tucked back so far in the wall that you have to get out of your vehicle to use it if its actually working. Bait and switch Late last year, I saw an online promo advertisement from Chase Bank that offered a $2,000 coupon interest after 90 days for money deposited in the amount of $250,000 . I reached out to a Chase branch, and on November 21, 2020 met with David J. (Relationship Banker at Chase) who opened two accounts for me (one savings and one checking account). We went over the terms regarding the $2000 bonus with the $250K deposit required to be transferred into the savings account. Then David J. told us of the additional requirement that we needed to meet with Jessica Sands (Branch Manager) and Joshua D. (VP Investments at Chase). After many attempts to try to set up a meeting in December (Ms. Sands being either on vacation or not available after 4pm on weekdays), my wife and I finally met with Jessica Sands and Joshua D. on January 05, 2021. I transferred $250,010 into the Chase savings account on January 19, 2021, and on the same day also funded the Chase checking account ($10) from the savings account. On April 20, 2021 I reached out to Joshua D. to inquire about the $2,000 coupon deposit I was supposed to receive, since the $250,000 had been into the Chase saving account since January 19 (over 90 days earlier). He referred me to Jessica Sands who called me over the phone a couple days later. Ms. Jessica Sands stated that I was not entitled to receive the $2,000 coupon deposit, because the checking account had been closed. So far as any account being closed, I did not close any account, nor authorized or made aware of any account being closed. Chase apparently had closed my checking account a day after I had deposited the money ($10), without any notice, and reversed the $10 deposit transfer I had made the day before! It turned out Chase used that argument to deny the payment of the $2,000 coupon interest that was owed to me. From my initial inquiry on April 20, 2021 I was told by Jessica Sands there was nothing she could do, and that this would have to be escalated to the "Chase Escalation Group". On April 29, 2021, I spoke to "Rebecca" from the "Chase Escalation Group" who 1) refused to provide a reason for the coupon denial in writing; 2) refused to provide a contact email for me to send documentation; 3) refused to provide an escalation contact name; 4) refused to provide an employee id for reference purpose. On May 6, 2021 I sent an email to "Chase Online" through the Chase web portal and on May 8, 2021 received a response to "Please contact your Private Client Banker at 480-970-7008 or visit your local branch for details and further assistance", essentially bouncing me back to my branch. On May 8th, I sent a Certified Letter to Ms. Jennifer Roberts, CEO of Chase Consumer Banking who never bothered to respond. On May 29, I filed a complaint against Chase with the Better Business Bureau and the Arizona Attorney General. Only after my complaint with the AZ Attorney General did I receive a written response from Chase stating that Chase is allowed "to close an account other than a CD at any time, for any reason, and without prior notice" (even though my account did not have a zero balance!). While Chase did not admit fault, they did agree to pay up (after having me jump through hoops again - i.e. meeting with a sales guy again, and opening new accounts). It is a shame that Chase is so bad with customers (I can't believe I even referred someone else to them!) and will only abide by a legal agreement when threatened with a notice from the Attorney General. "Channel 3 on your side", a claim with the FDIC, the Federal Trade Commission, or legal action were next, but I'm glad I didn't have to go through this! Not only that you have to show an ID to make a cash yes. Ash like money green backs into a legit bank acct!! I knew their mortgage department was a nightmare well that's according to 7 people who I know personally worked for these people mandatory overtime and in their main lending building they have Rat Traps in front of every door. I've been using this Chase location for years without any issues. We've been happy with the service overall. That being said, they have a new automated teller machine inside that is a joke... It's basically an ATM but inside the building. If I had wanted an ATM I wouldn't have come in at all. I wouldn't care about the addition of the machine except that it seems they count it as a teller... so they are now always understaffed on tellers. No Bueno! Was at Wells Fargo and Chase both this morning. What a difference. The Chase drive in girl looked at my deposit slip and the check and then aked If I wanted to make a deposit. Then asked if I wanted a receipt. Filled my container and walked away form the window. Wells Fargo teller introduced himself, asked how he could help, looked over the deposit slip and asked if there was anything else he could do for me today.
