One of the biggest thing I like about this construction was how fast they were able to repair my bathroom vent. There was a good amount of rain water seeping through the vent and it needed quick attention since it was going through my attic walls and through and master bathroom ceiling. The team that climbed my roof to replace the vent took about 20 minutes. Now I've got a peace of mind knowing that this issue is taken care of before heavy rains start's happening. Chase Construction NW offers the security and reliability of an established company with the direct intimacy of a personal business. My bid almost didn't get picked up because the guy at the office initially told me I was out of the service area, but Joel (the business owner) picked up my email inquiry and came over personally to do an estimate. We chatted for over an hour and a half on all things roofing and I learned a lot about how roofs are built. We talked about many options for shingle brands and colors. I got the impression these guys are experts who are really invested in their craft and aren't just around to sell roofs. I got bids from 4 roofers and called 3 more and ended up taking CCNW's proposal. Even though it was not the cheapest bid, I felt like the combination of personal investment from the owner, over 2 decades in the business, and video evidence of their recent work on social media made them the best choice to trust with my property. (Their website is a little out of date but their gallery is more current on social media complete with drone footage.) They have a blog that I read a lot of while researching this job, and only a few roofers in the country have that kind of online presence (Bill Ragan in Tennessee is one of the only other ones comparable) I took it as further proof Joel and his crew are experts in the field and not just another company out to make a buck. With these big and important jobs it's vital to hire the best in the business and not the lowest number. My previous roof was only about 15 years old and was done by the previous owner but it was missing just about everything aside from the shingles, like W valley flashings and all drip edges. The crew I hired to patch exposed nails and build a cricket on my chimney to address issues identified by the home inspector when we moved in 3 years ago also did a shoddy job and didn't bother flashing the chimney or the cricket. The whole area was rotted and had to be replaced. There's a lot of room to cut corners in this business and hiring the right guys who are fundamentally opposed to doing that kind of thing through pride and honor is going to make the difference between your roof lasting 30+ years and being junked at 15. The crew spent a week and a half on my job because of how much decking had to be replaced. I came back to check in with them at least once a day and they talked me through the job status and showed me their progress up top. I'm a stickler for details both because I like seeing how everything is done and because I need to account for everything to make sure nothing was overlooked. The crew was very professional and clear about what they were doing and were happy to explain the details to me. When I went up on the roof halfway through I saw they had already built up a Y junction that previously was a dead zone for leaves and water into a raised pitched area with a flat roof torch down without me needing to point it out. This was a problem I was aware of but forgot to bring up as I didnt think there was any way to fix the structure of the roof itself, and they had already taken care of it. I was confident the crew was leaving no stone unturned and cutting no corners. Brandon was my foreman and he was both incredibly professional and extremely personable. Even still, I was constantly on his back asking questions about the job and checking if all the details were covered and he was always two steps ahead of me and very patient and polite. Trusting someone to tear apart and rebuild half your house is a huge leap of faith and it made a big difference to know your property is in good hands and the guys working on it will treat it like their own. It's also important to know that if something goes wrong, the guys you hire will have your back instead of trying to take a backdoor. My two skylights I had replaced had the wrong kind of glass on them and no one noticed until the job was finished. I called Joel about them and he said that was not the look he was going for nor what we agreed on, and even though it wasn't anyone's fault except maybe the manufacturer he agreed to have them reordered and swapped out for no additional charge. Joel is also one of the few roofers who offer the GAF Golden Pledge Warranty, and although I can't vouch for how it works (and hopefully I'll never have to use it) it gives you extra peace of mind that a third party (the manufacturer) vouches for the integrity of your roof for the next 30 years including workmanship, and that unlike my last roof everything that's supposed to be there is installed properly. If you want honest and honorable professionals who will deliver the best work and service on your house as if it was one of their own, you should hire Chase Construction NW. read more

We were in need of a skylight replacement and wanted to indulge a bit with a really nice Velux Window. Chase Construction was on their list of factory trained companies and their reviews on here and other sites showed them to be best of the best. Gary, the Sales Manager arrived within a few days of inquiry to make a quote and was very thorough in his evaluation and ensuring the job would meet our vision. He was very accommodating when we asked about some different options and made sound recommendations about those choices. We had two visits and a final walkthrough (by Chase himself), and every person that came/was on the crew were friendly, professional, neat, and took care about working around our furnishings. Their work was very efficient and overall, the job met the expected timeline. The finished job actually exceeded expectation as did the level of service. I called the receptionist in November and they never called me back. Then I called the receptionist in December and I that took weeks for them to call back. They were scheduled to be on-site for two days but finished in one, without impacting the quality of installation. There was an issue where a sheet of plywood hit an outdoor light. The electrician went out and purchased a new one with one that I consider better quality and installed. While doing the roof, they changed out a bathroom light for a light fan combo and vented it through the roof. The hole in the ceiling had to be bigger so there was a lot of material around during the installation but they cleaned it up nicely. Once the gutters were on the house it brought it all together and it looks wonderful. I would highly recommend Chase Construction for roof replacement. read more

I hired Chase Construction to reroof our house about 6 months ago. They also did 5 replacement skylights and new gutters. Everything looked great but I was waiting for the rains to come to really judge the end result. After a few minutes of heavy rain in the fall, we had an issue with the water overshooting the gutters in a couple of spots. Within a few days of that request, they had a technical sales rep (Gary) come out and check out my current roof, go over my options. There really wasn't much pressure or upselling which I appreciated. I did a bit of homework on the front end and was set with what type of shingles I needed. Gary was very informative. Usually responded within a day to questions I had about specifics of the job, and explained things in a manner that I could understand. I received 5 proposals from 5 different contractors, they where on of the most competitive, and worked with me a bit to keep everything within budget (I had a solar project going on at the same time). Chase got me scheduled 3 weeks after signing our agreement. the guys that were on site consistently, showed up at early (a little before 8), but didn't start hammering away until a little after 8. They took the time to answer my curiosity questions about roofing, they didn't seem annoyed. It took 3.5 days to complete. the project. I would recommend them to any and everyone looking for quality work. Through out our project their communication was great - from our initial inquiries, to scheduling, and check-in with us after the job was complete. Washington State only has a few. They did everything they said they'd do. They were very responsive to any questions that I had about my roof. During a 2021 install, the crew didn't follow / have access to the final job information/ quote (fixed after we spotted the issue), then messed up the skylight install (light tubes were not the same design and weren't vertical after second attempt - and were finally fixed by an another party). Then, in 2024, we noticed missing flashing around an area of the roof. We called Chase on 4 occasions to request a fix. Calls weren't returned, despite talking to the customer service representative 3 times, and no fix was provided by the Chase team (fixed by another party, again). A recent home inspection also showed issues with exposed nail heads on the ridge not being finished. While the roof doesn't leak, the details weren't there and follow up customer support is poor. Overall Chase was ok to work with, despite the problems. But after all the hassle and without longer term support, we're left leaving a poor review on yelp. Oh well. read more

Totally awful experience! It took them 2-3 entire months(!) in spring to install 2 skylights while we had to go live elsewhere or couldn't use the room where the skylights were being used at all. The installers were always late and didn't clean up after themselves. They tried to install poor quality skylights instead of just standard ones. They cut up the drywalls into small pieces in place of an entire whole piece. They placed the shingles in a disarray or none at all around the skylights. All this is what I only discovered when I was vigilant enough to climb giant ladders inside and outside. Can't imagine what else I didn't discover or what problematic installs they do for people who have no idea whatsoever. BTW, they strangely insisted that the skylights had to be installed on wet days instead of dry days. And yet it turns out, as I learned on the first time when a short storm hit that the skylights leaked. Though they did come out to check in they summer, they tried to intimidate me and intimate that I was making false accusatiions. When I said I will be hiring a third party inspector to expertly test the skylights, the installers told me that the skylights were not joined properly in the leaking corner. They refused to communicate whatsoever after the leak that got on to my furniture. What's worse is that the skylights are having issues again! They are now making strange crackling sounds like they are cracking! Chase Constructions (formerly known as Stoneway) will be responsible for the damage and inconvenience they caused earlier and later. read more

We had some urgent repairs needed for a concrete tile roof on a house we had just purchased. Chase Construction was one of the few roofing contractors in the greater Seattle area that were willing to work on our roof. They could have recommended a complete replacement but were very accommodating on our request to stay within our repair budget while still doing an excellent job. When contracting a service like a roof for a new home, it can be quite overwhelming. We rely on reviews, and word of mouth, that the contractors performing services will do the jobs they promise. I had the unique experience of having Chase Construction recommended to me by another roofing company, because I needed a metal roof for a home my parents were purchasing. There were several key factors that led us to choosing to work with them. 1.) Their communication was excellent. I called, got an appointment, and a phone meeting with the owner who was out of town at the time. I appreciate them working me in ASAP, as I was under a deadline for the homes inspection. 2.) Their bid was solid, and 20 percent less than their competitors bid for the same material. It was easy to understand what we were contracting, and I was able to confirm that we were comparing apples to apples. 3.) Their crew was wonderful on site. They were on time, worked really hard, picked up their trash, raked for nails, they were friendly, and it was just a great group of hard workers. We really appreciated them. 4.) We were replacing our roof for a future solar installation. We got several GAF master elite bids but Chase was the only one that offered to install the ice and water shield over the entire area of the roof where the panels were to be installed to minimize water penetration due to the hardware that would be mounted through the shingles to the roof rafters. We had some other drip edge/gutter challenges based on the previous style of roofing. Chase was able to make the modifications needed to prevent us having to replace our existing gutters. My 20 year old shake roof with skip sheathing needed to be replaced, so it needed all the shake torn off, plywood and architectural-grade composite shingles to comply with the community covenants.
