Of course, it's her practice, so no one there, including the other dr, would validate my concern - as it would go against Dang's tight grip on the office and disturb her tiny bubble. That's a team led by fear, not respect. At her ripe age, it's embarrassing that she did not offer enough self reflection to look at me as an intelligent human who knows my cherished smile and knows when something went wrong. Instead, she saw me as someone with no degree in dentistry who couldn't possibly have a reasonable perception on the matter. Sadly, I cannot give a one star review…read more At an annual cleaning appointment Dr. Davis suggested replacing my crown for cosmetic reasons and I unknowingly left for college in August 2025 with a crown that was not properly fitted. I was left alone at college with severe teeth pain, ear aches, nerve pain, and I could only chew on one side of my mouth because of the intense pain I felt day and night. I frequently visited emergency rooms and dentists in Austin with additional incurred costs, not knowing my pain came from my tooth being severely inflamed and infected due to deep decay, damage, and trauma because of my ill-fitted crown. I returned to Houston and alerted Dr. Davis and staff of my severe pain, where I immediately came to tears because of my immense pain, and he came to the solution to shave down my crown. He said that shaving my crown would help, but that I might need a root canal if the pain continued. I was not given an X-ray, which would have shown how infected and damaged the root of my tooth was. At this appointment the urgency and need of getting a root canal was severely brushed over. After visiting a new dental practice, I was told that I needed immediate care (root canal and crown replacement) because of my ill-fitted crown that could have left me with permanent damage, and even the loss of my tooth. As a young female college student, I have endured immense stress, pain, and emotions due to the lack of attention and care from Cosmetic Dentist Associates. I have lived a very difficult six months where my tooth and nerve pain were a constant stressor, when it could have been completely avoidable if I had received proper care from this dental practice in the first place. I am happy to say that I have received attentive care from a dentist in Austin and finally, six months later I am able to chew on both sides of my mouth, and not live in fear that my porcelain crown would break inside of my mouth with a dead tooth. I advise every one who comes to Cosmetic Dental Associates to advocate for themselves, as I have spent half a year of my youth in serious pain, when it could have been completely avoided or caught earlier if I was listened to.

The did 3-D imaging that cost $323 then would not give me a copy of it. I called every week for over a month and they would promise to call me when it was ready, but never did. I was lucky to go to another Prosthodontist who did the same test for free because they knew that I had already paid for it elsewhere. Evolution gave me an estimate of $75K to do work that I have since learned it's totally unnecessary. Do not waste your money.

I have never needed a root canal before and was wholly unaware that it is a separate procedure done by an endodontist. I returned for multiple lengthy appointments for this recommended "root canal" and crown. Despite issues with the temporary crown before the permanent crown was ready, I remember thinking she did such a great job that I even made appointments for my pre-kindergarteners' cleanings after Dr. Dinh's receptionist told me Dr. Dinh also sees children. In hindsight, her clinic is not kid-friendly in any way so my fault for not making the connection. At their appointments, both my kids were shy and uncomfortable. So the appointments were cut short when Dr. Dinh, her dental assistant and I were unable to get the kids to open their mouths for inspections or their cleanings. Her office charged and I paid full price for the kids' appointments regardless. My husband was quite bothered that we were charged for a two full appointments when Dr. Dinh gave up trying to entertain the children pretty quickly, and that no dental work was actually performed, so we never went back to her dentistry. Fast forward a few years later, I visited a different dentistry when the crown Dr. Dinh placed fell out. At this appointment, the new dentist and her dentist business partner were both confused as to why I believed I had a root canal when the root to my tooth was clearly still in my mouth. In addition, based on their X-rays, they thought the crown was unnecessary and that the original cavity could've been filled. In an attempt to get to the bottom of this, I called Dr. Dinh's office to request my records without giving a reason, which the receptionist tried to convince me, adamantly, that I was not entitled to. A few days later, her office called back stating that I could pick up my records at their office, as if they didn't deny me of them in the first place. I never picked up the records so I am not making any accusations. I also understand that there is no requirement of a root canal being done prior to a dental crown. However, the initial refusal of my records, the lack of explanation or alternative option, my inconsistent belief of what was actually done to my teeth, in addition to the second dentists' advice and eventual dental work really made me suspicious of my experience. Despite the situation described above, I would say that Dr. Angie Dinh acted professionally at all times when we interacted and had very gentle hands.
