With Chasing Rainbows I felt the communication was very good. Very fair in resolving a problem. They wanted to help but property owner not willing to make repair. They are adjusting their posting to reflect this amenity not working. Unit needs some work besides this one major issue. (Dishwasher not bolted to cabinet, carpets very dirty...little things.). Their manner of communication requires significant upgrade, particularly for a business engaged in the tourist industry in lovely Maui. Unit A 201 at Papakea Resort was a lovely unit and I highly recommend it. Sadly I cannot say the same about the property manager Chase N Rainbow. The owner of Unit A 201 might want to reconsider their choice of property manager as they are not being well served. Chase N Rainbow did not return calls or emails once an issue developed. In effect they went MIA. To the extent they did communicate verbally once I was able to locate the General Manager, she did not follow through on what she said. Further Chase N Rainbow has now reneged on their agreement to reimburse 10% of the rental cost, notwithstanding email communications confirming same. Their word is not their bond. I appreciate other reviews are generally complimentary to Chase N Rainbow. Perhaps upper management has recently changed. Perhaps they had a bad week. In any event tread carefully in your dealings with Chase N Rainbow. read more

For four months, my mother has been attempting to get a refund that Chase N Rainbows assured her she was entitled to. We have the email receipts. All phone calls and emails go unanswered. The spot we rented was great. Two bedroom at Honua Kai. But they told us there was no pack and play. WE paid an extra $104 to have one delivered. But then we get there and there was one. 65 year old deaf woman left stranded in Maui when Chase 'n Rainbows forgot that they did not own the unit she had reserved. They accepted my final payment in December for a reservation that was made a year ago. A few days before my arrival I received the instructions on how to get into the unit with a code at the resort in Maui. Upon arrival we found that the room was under construction with a red X in tape across the door stating "do not enter ". After about an hour of trying to get a hold of someone at the company, we found a person who could not make decisions to talk to. At first they denied I had a reservation until my sister told them that we had the American Express ledger and the confirmation with the key information sent from them a few days earlier. Bottom line, although they said the right words, "too bad, so sad" If my family had not also been in Hawaii with a suite, I would've been on the next flight home instead of a 3 1/2 week stay on Maui. I had booked with this company many times but I did not realize it had been sold. Lots of words and no actions on the part of the company. I even contacted the CEO of their parent company, Castle Resorts, who couldn't even bother to have anyone return a call or email. On the fourth day they found a place for me but it did not have air-conditioning in the bedrooms, there was insulation falling out of the ceiling, there were bugs on the wall, on top of the appliances and in the sliding door track, no security lock on the door, or smoke detector in the bedroom area. My family came to see it and they would not allow me to stay there, not for one night. On the fifth day I contacted the father of the previous owner of Chase'n Rainbows. Although his family members that owned it had passed away, it had been sold and the new owners were the ones that were negligent. This 85-year-old man contacted the general manager at the oceanfront resort. THEY got me a studio for the rest of my stay. It was supposed to be a one bedroom so my family members could stay part of the time with me since I am deaf but in February, there are no vacancies. There were all kinds of promises, all kinds of false words of empathy, but no actions on the part of Chase'n Rainbows. I was appalled at their attitude, their false statements, and the fact that they had actually accepted money for a unit they no longer owned. Needless to say I was traumatized and frightened. For all practical purposes they made promises and no actions and were offered even when I complained to the CEO. Avoid them at all costs. Basically they reimbursed me for the five days that I did not have a room rather than paying for the entire visit that they had bungled. They paid a few other expenses to my family members. Yes they brought me a nice fruit basket but remember, I had no where to put it. This deaf lady was abused horribly in Maui. I did not receive a check from them for weeks after I returned home. They pretended not to know my address even though it was on all of their correspondence. Was this breach of contract, fraud? Negligence? Or just abuse of a poor deaf woman? You decide. read more

March 28, 2022 I rented a condo for 4 days at the Paki Maui for a destination wedding. Upon arrival at 18:00, the condo was a shambles, it was not cleaned or COVID compliant. The bed striped with dirty underwear at the head of the bed. My wife and I spent the next several hours making multiple phone calls to Chase n' Rainbows. The person we spoke with was less than helpful; several calls later we still did not have a clear answer on a plan to correct the problem. Our first indication that the problem was being addressed was when a housekeeper arrived after 20:00 and it would take a couple of hours to adequately clean the place. We had to book alternate accommodations that were a one hour drive away. We missed out on dinner with our family that night. In the mourning we spoke with Chases n' Rainbows who said she would forward our complaint to management. We heard nothing for the next 4 days. All communications have been initiated by us with no attempt by Chase n' Rainbows to resolve provide a refund or ANY form of compensation. We did finally receive a refund for the alternative room for the night following multiple phone calls, emails and registered letter. There was no consideration for the family events we missed, the hour drive each way to a hotel room for the night or missing out on the first day of four in beautiful Maui. Buyer beware. We had used Chase N' Rainbows for several years and thought that they were a good company. This year, we had a dreadful experience with them. In June, 2023, we booked (and prepaid) for a rental in January 2024. In October, they told us that this unit was no longer available. We found another place with Chase N' Rainbows again and rebooked (at a higher price than the original). In December, we were again contacted and told that unit was no longer available. Since nothing else would match our travel dates, we asked for a refund. They said that they would send a check to reimburse us, but that check never came. They now are not responding to emails or phone calls. We started a credit card dispute to get our money back, but we will not use this company again. read more

I stay at the Mahana condos in Kaanapali. It is my home away from home. I always book it with Chase N Rainbows. They are great in making my reservations. The manager Jason Kamakana has resolved several issues for me which were not created by Chase N Rainbows. He is terrific and very caring about us visitors. Where do I begin? We are locked out of our condo. The automatic door code stopped working. I have called twice the "emergency after hours" number. You get a recording thanking you for your patience. The problem began at 2pm. I was assured it was being handled and that if the maintenance person couldn't fix it they would call a locksmith. We left with confidence. Arrived back 4.5 hours later unable to get into our unit. We have stayed at this resort numerous times with other companies and private owners. We have never had problems like this. You need a degree in engineering to work the TV. I called for help with that, explained we would be out and could they please give me a call to schedule a time to help us. They let themselves in and left a note on how to work the TV. The note was written on my daughters homework paper. No phone call. I believe this company has changed ownership. I've never had problems like this. There's a passive/aggressive battle going on between the resort and the rental company. After being lectured by resort staff informing us this is Chase N Rainbows problem, security finally let us in to our room. Chase N Rainbows depended on that. We are now trapped here or we need to leave the door propped open and vulnerable to theft. We are leaving tomorrow but you can imagine what difficulties arise from not being able to leave your unit because you will be locked out from the door code not working. If you are going to be renting out units, you need to be willing to maintain them. Please use someone else for your bookings or call the resorts you are interested in directly. I booked a week at MKV with Chase N' Rainbows, what a disaster. Arrived at MKV to find out they had no information about my reservation, just what you want to hear after traveling all day. The staff at MKV were great, they called all the numbers for listed for Chase N' Rainbows without any luck, finally after one and a half hours they got a call back only to find out no one at Chase N' Rainbow ever sent over the contract to MKV. There was 2 hours of my life I will never get back again. Last year we stayed for 10 days but booked the reservation with VBRO and never had a problem. My suggestion is to contact the venue a day or two beforehand and make sure there will be no issues at check-in. read more

This place is awesome. Linda was so great all the way from my first email with her. We were able to get a late check which totally made the end of our trip awesome since we had an 11:30pm flight. Absolutely worst agency to do business with. We got locked out of condo at 12 noon. Called office to which they replied help was on the way. At 430 pm, we were still locked out. Murphy bed was broken and not useable, sheets had a nasty stain(that I washed out in one wash without bleach), the room was generally just not well cleaned(dust everywhere, crumbs on the table). Called the company immediately and they said they would send maintenance out after 8am tomorrow. Mainteance never came. Spent the entire day playing phone tag, and being told the manager would call us back, and even didn't do one of our stops because we wouldn't have service. Severely frustrating. By the end of the day they offered us a blow up mattress or to totally move locations and pay the difference(much more). Very frustrating. Will never book with this company or their terrible maid system. If you can't even wash your sheets you have lazy staff. If you can't take care of basic needs like a bed, you don't deserve our money. read more

Do Not use them. Roaches...yes time of year for them and owner brought roach motels. But then we discovered under the sink either a pipe or garbage disposal was spewing food and water everywhere which attracted hundreds of roaches. We told the owner about this and they did not reply to us nor did they send anyone to fix the problem. Since we told them about the sink they went radio silent. Could not use kitchen as they were coming out of the toaster, microwave, stove, oven and sink. Groceries were thrown away and food in HI is not cheap. Very unsanitary and they carry diseases. I guess once they got paid in full they don't care about issues while you stay there. It was disgusting. My daughter was getting married and when she went to put her wedding dress on there were roaches crawling on it. Do not recommend this property or any property chase 'n rainbows manages. read more

Our fridge in our condo didn't work. I called them the day after arrival when I realized the fridge temperature was 63 degrees! . The gal told me she would send maintenance within the hour. 4 hours later I called again and she said "oh they came and they will have to get an appliance technician and they can't be there until the 14th". First of all, no one came because we were there. Second, I rented a condo so we could cook our own food! I was told that a manager would call me by the end of the day. I emailed twice after that explaining that we lost over $200.00 in groceries and after settling in, the place was filthy. i was wondering what our options were. Could we move? Could they send over a mini fridge? NO RESPONSE from a manager. They did credit my credit card for the groceries that we lost but they obviously didn't care to hear that we were upset that we didn't have a properly running refrigerator the entire time we were there and the place was filthy. By the way, an appliance technician never did show up as far as we know. If they did, there was no communication to us and it wasn't properly working when we left. I don't know what cleaning company they use, but the floors were filthy, the curtains were moldy and the living room chairs were so dirty and crusty, no one wanted to sit on them. read more

In December 2020 I made a reservation thru Chase'n Rainbows (CR) for the Mahana condos arriving in May 2022 for 27 nts. Eleven days before our arrival CR called and said our unit was undergoing repairs and wouldn't be available. They offered us a very inferior unit and we said "NO!" At this late date I had to pay an additional $8K (total $15,600) to find another decent condo. Not even ocean front like Mahana. Yes.....that's a lot of money, but our children were coming and we didn't want to disappoint them. CR, after many requests from me and many excuses from them, finally refunded my money ($7,600) after over 30 days. They never once said they were sorry in any way. Hard to imagine having a worse experience. The unit we rented was horrible (#301 Kahana Reef). A partial list of items that were wrong or didn't work are: Microwave, NO SMOKE DETECTORS--post fire, lanai door hardly opened, drapes hanging down, stove ventilation and ice maker broken, outdoor furniture ripped and fraying, internet & TV. The bedroom is so small and NO suitcase valets because there is no room other than the living room to put luggage. Bare minimum with ONLY salt and pepper and NOTHING else provided. 1 dish towel, thread-bare linens, no garbage disposal and no closet space (their stuff was in the only closet). After 2 days or our calling, they brought a microwave and put up smoke detectors, and put the lanai lounger in the trash...but the TV never worked. I fixed the internet. I was promised 3 times Jason the manager would call me...he NEVER did. Our dream stay in Maui was a nightmare. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. LOTS OF EXCUSES AND MINIMAL ACTION. Upon arrival, immediately noticed that there was a large hole in the bedspread & that the toilet paper holder was laying on the bathroom floor. Took photos & sent to rental agency. We were in Mahana 1204 for 2 weeks & on day 10 with NO notice at all, someone shows up at the door to fix the bathroom. As much as you pay to stay in the condos rented by Chase'N Rainbows, their housekeeping & maintenance staff should have had these 2 things fixed before our arrival. We have been to Hawaii 21 times. Many of those trips were booked through Chase N Rainbows. However, apparently a couple of years ago the company was sold. Since then it has gone down fast. Last year our room at the beautiful Mahana had windows so dirty that we could hardly see through them. There were other issues with the unit. Some were resolved and we were told we would be given a minor discount on our next reservation. While we were there (September 2021) we reserved a different Mahana unit for September 2022. Today, June 24, we received an email from Chase N Rainbows stating that they were canceling our reservation and returning our money. We already have our airline tickets and car rented. We immediately called and were told that the owner of the unit (and a number of other Mahana units) was no longer using this company as the property manager. It's obvious this company is in trouble. Read the other reviews. Trying to find a place as nice as Mahana at this late date is virtually impossible. At this point we may lose our plane and car expenses and end up not going to Maui this year. Needless to say, we will never use Chase N Rainbows (AKA West Maui Condos), again. read more

Our families room was infested with roaches and the supervisor provided no help and claimed "to know nothing about it" even though the last few months had reviews about the roaches (we booked before the reviews). There are over 26 traps around the apartment, multiple roaches, and bug poop everywhere. Even the exterminator came and said that he remembered the room and had been there 6 weeks prior. Chase and Rainbows are horrible! I DO NOT recommend that anyone stays here. On our first night we found feces under the bed, maggots in the dishwasher, the place was filthy, no clean sheets, most lamps didn't work, lots of roaches, no hand soap. I called the emergency line but did not hear back until 12 hours later, even though the phone said they would respond in 30min. After they finally called me back, they were rude and not accommodating. The only offered me 10% off even though there was a bio hazard of feces under the bed. I asked for another room and they wanted to charge me an additional $1,000. I said no and they hung up on me and I have not heard back since. My husband and I booked our 2021 Maui vacation with Chase 'N Rainbows. We were so excited to be going back to Hawaii after 2 years of Covid restrictions. Our first problem occurred about 35 days prior to our planned arrival at the Condo we booked. Suddenly our condo had become unavailable! We had vacation time scheduled from our jobs and our airfare booked! So, we asked what other accommodations they could provide. They offered us a place at a property close to our original Condo but the location was a serious downgrade . We were not thrilled but had no time to do any further research so accepted their trade. Fast forward to a few days prior to our scheduled arrival at the condo and we received our arrival Check- in instructions. All was in order and we were paid IN FULL. HOWEVER, When we arrived at the condo about 5pm in the evening with a car load of groceries, take out for dinner and our bags the entrance code would not work!! We double checked all our info, retried the door code several times, we even tried to make sure that we were in the exact correct place! We called an emergency number but there was no answer! Just a recorded message saying someone would contact is in 30 minutes... meanwhile it was starting to get dark. My dinner was getting cold and my groceries melting and we were just standing outside a condo feeling vulnerable. I was not happy with an emergency number that was not answered so I kept calling until someone finally answered! Several different things were tried to get us into the Unit we had contracted and paid for and in the course of almost the next 2 hrs we heard a couple of different stories as to why we could not get into the unit - none of which ended up being the truth. Eventually they found us a place to stay for that night but were told it was just one night as the unit was rented the following night and that they would call us between 9-10 am the next day with a solution.... We called them the next day after 10am - no solution was offered at that time. Our first full day of vacation was spent waiting to know where we would end up. Our snorkeling trip and beach time had to be postponed. Any discounts or concessions we were offered for the inconvenience and frustration were very minor. In short we found Chase 'N Rainbows to be a very poor choice for a rental company and have made a different choice for next years trip! read more

They took our $$$ and the 3rd day we couldn't even be in the Condo due to plumbing issues ( we had no problem with the plumbing) and they take zero responsibility for these issues. Location of the condo is great. There could have been many little things that could have been done or provided that would have made things better. Aside from the items mentioned above, the condo could have been better outfitted - i.e. there was no salt or pepper. The paper towels and aluminum foil was probably the cheapest ever. Several frying pans were warped to the point they did not sit on stove properly. They only provided 2-3 dishwashing pods for a 10 day stay - we had to buy dishwashing detergent. They did not even provide regular dish soap (like Dawn, etc.). I would rather pay $10 extra each day and not have to worry about such things on vacation. We are staying at the Paki Maui right now, and have most of our time here still ahead of us so I will write a more complete review at the end of our stay if anything changes. But for right now, there are several maintenance issues needing immediate attention: jammed non-functional garbage disposal, slidin lanai doors, the only way to get breeze, are off-track, and the screen doors are torn from from frame, allowing mosquitos in non-stop. We are a party of 4, and the dish supply covers only 2 people, etc. But my chief complaint Is that the system provided to us to get help with any such issues appears to be a circular sham. No help seems possible. There is no help available on site. OK, we expected that. So, first we called the management company as per the instructions and got a recorded message to call a different number. Calling that number, Chase N Rainbows claimed no knowledge of our reservation! We then drove to the office and a nice woman named Carla gave us the needed dishes, but the sliding doors and screens still aren't fixed. Tried calling again to add the garbage disposal onto our "fix-it" request, and their mailbox is full so it's not possible to even leave a message. Warning to prospective visitors: take these reviews seriously and do not come here. If the needed repairs are done, I promise I'll come back and write a more balanced review! read more

Stayed at our property that we own whenever we come to Maui. We have been doing this for many, many years. When our units were managed by Chase N Rainbows, we had no problems. You would think, they would put extra care into cleaning the unit knowing the owner was coming. In addition to this, we have repeat clients staying in our units and no matter the location, something was always wrong with the unit. Swept tile but not under the tables, countertops wiped, but not under appliances!! Dryer lint not removed. Baseboards dirty. If Castle does not get real management in their operations on Maui, they will not only lose my properties. Really sad that Foster worked hard to build something all these years but, the big conglomerate bought and is destroying by just poor management. read more

We stayed at Polynesian Shores. The condo itself is on a great location, but so is every other condo, so to give then credit for that doesn't make sense. The maintenance on the complex is great, no complaints, very well taken care of. What would be great I'd if they took real care of they properties they rent on the inside. They pictures they have are from right after the remodel. Now the property is dirty and neglected. TV in master is coming of the wall, closet doors are of the track and hard to move, old junk inn the closet too. Frames and fixtures on the wall are hanging from just plain nails going into the drywall, and tend to fall off. Really? Can't even use a cheap plastic anchor to secure the darn thing?! The cleaning is also lacking: furniture is dusty, windows greasy and with covered with finger prints, tv as well. Has to rewash most pans before using. If you are not staying in a hotel, for whatever reason, avoid being mislead and really research as much as you can where you'll spend your money. read more

I had to clean the place just to stay here. Just a slap in the face after you pay a ton to be here and you are tired and hot. I have been a past client of 6+ years and have spent thousands of dollars with them booking condos at the Hale Mahina. This is the last straw and everyone should know that even if you provide a 6 month notice of cancellation they REFUSE to credit all but $100.00 plus tax. This totally wrong. Also renter's beware many if not all of the units they rent at all complexes have the worst presentations of cleanliness. Within the last 6 months the unit we were in had black mold in the shower floor and up 2 of the corners at least 1 foot high. There were also used Kleenex's behind the nightstand and dead bugs as well. The dishwasher was missing the handle as well as dried milk on a shelf in the refrigerator. Fingerprints on the slider to the lanai was noted as well. Fortunately I made a call and this was taken care of within 3-4 hours. This should never have to be dealt with while on vacation. I recommend travelers use other agencies like Maui Westside Properties, My Perfect Stays or go direct to VRBO or Air BnB or even the resorts direct website that list owners direct contacts that have a list of owners direct contacts. read more

I reserved a condo thru this property management company at a complex (Hale Mahina) that I have stayed in many times before but never had booked thru Chase N Rainbows. I made the reservation the first week of October 2021 for a trip scheduled 4/22/22. I paid the 50% down at the time of the reservation and was told the remainder would be due one month before our arrival. When that date came and went with no charge to my credit card I called to confirm my reservation. The man that I spoke to apologized and said they were "running a little behind"and he would charge the remaining balance at that time, which he did. This was approximately 3/24/22. I received a phone call on 4/5/22 saying that my reservation had been cancelled due to the fact that the unit had been sold and they had no other properties to offer me. They were not apologetic and offered no solution. This was 17 days before we were supposed to be flying to Maui for our vacation. I was told Jason (the manager) would call me as soon as he returned to the office but that never happened. I tried calling to speak to Jason and was transferred to his voicemail. I left a voicemail for him but he never returned my call. This left us scrambling to find another unit in west Maui at the last minute. I did some internet sleuthing and contacted some of the actual property owners at Hale Mahina and they said they were very sorry but they had no vacancies. One of the owners did tell me that the unit I had rented thru ChaseNRainbows had actually sold back in October about the time I made the original reservation. I demanded my money back and it was refunded in full but we had no condo to stay in. We made the decision to go to Molokai since there was nothing anywhere near our price range on Maui. And just a couple days ago I got an email from them saying my trip to Hale Mahina was coming up and what I needed to do to check in. These people have no idea what they are doing. If I could rate this company and the unit I reserved a zero I would. Please read your contract throughly. I had almost several issues with my unit. So, When I arrived to my unit I thought, ok it looks exactly how it did in the photo very outdated. No biggie..... let me just say first that I'm very germaphobic. The 1st thing I assess in any rental unit is the bathroom. It's just a pet peeve of mine. I go to the bathroom and notice the Toilet was leaking water... UGGG I immediately reported that as requested. Next, I run the shower, before I can get my clothes I noticed the surface of the tub was rising. When I stepped into the tub a foul odor arises through the cracks. It was a pool of water under the tub. From the smell of it, you can tell it must had be sitting there for a while. Per maintenance, this issue should have been taken care of. The only thing CHASIN RAINBOWS could say is @Did you read your contract" very inconsiderate. I literally went back and forth with one of the agents as he show NO empathy to my concerns. Very unprofessional!!! If you could avoid doing business with them I would say you can do better. It's not worth the trouble. My 1st stay here in Maui was horrible due to the consistent issues I've come across. Remind you, these are just two of the BIGGEST issues.. There is like 4 other issues that I'm not going to get into as sim getting upset now just talking about these two. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY EVER. read more
