In fact, they even have a special receptacle bin for the poos, which I only know because my boyfriend almost disposed of a baggie in the wrong one. This makes me think that they have a special way to dispose of the waste, which can cause toxic runoff in our water. I appreciate that! This was actually the first dog park I've ever been to, and now that I've experienced a few I decided that I really like this one. It's not the biggest, or the most glamorous, but it's got plenty of open space for running. There are toys, water bowls, hand sanitizer and a separate area for small dogs. Archie walked in and immediately made a friend with what seemed like a breed of sheep dog. What I loved about this park was that it wasn't packed with folks who were sitting on benches with their coffee and not watching their canines. Tremont seems to attract owners who want to interact with their dogs and play with them while they're here. Since this was my first doggie park experience, I was a little worried about Archie running off or misbehaving with other dogs. The owner of the sheep dog quickly informed me that he wouldn't get out and to relax and let 'em all play. Great advice. One thing I could do without is feeling like I'm playing next to a radioactive power plant. I kept thinking I was going to leave here and develop a third eye from the toxic waves. Not a great view. I also wouldn't come down here alone at dusk, but during the day I don't think that would be a problem. Lastly, we didn't bring my boyfriend's son with us this time around, but we plan on it next time. There is a huge playground right next door for kids and since I know he'd get bored in the dog park within 10 mins, it would be a perfect situation for an energetic 6yr old.

This place is so inclusive to all different sizes and breeds of dogs. The staff was so amazing they're always engaged, keeping an eye on the dogs, stepping in when needed, and cleaning up after each pup as they leave. I've also attended a couple of their special events, most notably their Minis and Mimosas party! It was perfect for small‑dog owners who might feel anxious about their pups being around much larger dog - and my old morkie loved it! As a bonus too, there is a bar for human visitors! I loved getting to know other dog owners and socialize with the community.

On our first visit, instead of simply asking for IDs, staff pulled our mothers aside and questioned them to "prove" our age. It was unnecessary and uncomfortable. We gave it another chance, but the second visit was worse. In front of a crowd we were told we "look like 10 year olds," then met with glares and a cold demand for IDs. Even after showing them, we felt stared at until we decided to leave. I respect the need to verify age, but this could have been handled professionally with a simple ID check at the door. The concept of this facility is great, but the approach left us feeling unwelcome.

While your dog plays, you can watch the canal traffic and the bridge (though who are we kidding, we stare at the dogs at dog parks). There are a few dog structures for puppos to run up and down. Negatives: Hard to find parking, the dog park is tiny, and the two times that I've brought my dog here, he has been the ONLY dog there. What the heck? Totally defeats the purpose of bringing him to play... All that being said, if I'm downtown with my dog, I'll bring him there but won't go out of the way to go to this dog park.

This is still big enough for a few dogs and there's usually not too many at the same time. Here your dog can do its business. In the park is also a play structure featuring a ramp. There isn't that much to do in here so you won't be spending lots of time. Another bad thing is that the ground is covered in gravel. This isn't easy for many dogs to walk on. It seems designed for you to only be in there a few minutes. Just a place to piddle and poop. It seems clean. There usually aren't any leftovers. It conveniently is located next to a train station near the bridge. It's next to a train station. The area can get noisy so it's not much of a park but a place for dogs to play and relieve themselves.

We looked into training because of her reactivity to other…read moredogs and we wanted to eventually be able to go on walks with her without her having a meltdown. With her age, we knew training would not be a perfect fix and we just wanted to get to a manageable spot. We found Turning Point Dog Training through a Google search and reached out. Within a day or two (I think it was same day), we got a response from Andrea, one of their dog trainers. Andrea was very accommodating with scheduling as my partner and I both work full time. When we first met with her - we immediately felt comfortable. One thing that I noticed and really appreciated right off is that we were not rushed through an appointment. Andrea took her time with us and we even ended up staying over time. She easily could have said "oh times up" or "I have another appointment". But this showed me that they would take time with our dog. We ended up selecting a 3 week board and train as that is what we felt fit out life best at the moment. Again - we went in with expectations that Maisy may never be perfect, but we wanted manageable. We met up with Andrea for her midway session and then again for a public outing at 3pm in a local park (I never thought I would take Maisy to a busy park with lots of dogs at 3pm), and we were absolutely blown away. It was a night and day difference! Maisy was walking near dogs and not having a full freak out and was able to remain calm. We did have to correct some minor behaviors - but she's still learning and so are we! Those behaviors we corrected though were nothing like anything she did in the past that felt unmanageable. We get Maisy back today from our 3 week board and train and we can't wait to see how it goes integrating what she has learned and what we have learned into our everyday life. I will post another review after a couple of weeks and/or months for an update. But so far, we have had such a great and meaningful experience! Other things we enjoyed: They send daily photo updates so you are never left without seeing your pup! They also have around the clock care and have eyes on your dog almost all the time if not all the time. Maisy was in such good hands.
