I highly recommend the groomers here. Our maine coon came to us with a lot of mats, and a extreme dislike to be brushed. At our wits end, we made an appointment, and they were absolutely wonderful, Titus received a lion cut, they had no problems with him. We will definitely be back with our other fur babies as well. I see some mixed reviews for Paws by the Lake, but we had a good experience. The kennel is huge, there's really room for a lot of dogs, but I feel l like there was space for them to breathe. My dog is a solo boarder - we don't do The Thunderdome as I don't care who is in charge, 15 dogs in a pack is too much. So.... boarding and reservations are pretty easy. There are an almost ridiculous amount of options, with variable price points. While they had some of the fancier kennels available, I went with the lower rent option, and added on a walk each day for my dog. One thing to keep an eye on.... they have upsell options on absolutely everything. Kennel size, CCTV/webcam, I think there's TVs for the dogs in one area, baths, grooming, playtime, walks, adventure walks.... everything. I would recommend reading over their pricing options BEFORE you go, and understanding/knowing what you're comfortable spending, and sticking to it. While the base prices are comparable to other kennels I've used, you could quite easily end up paying the equivalent of a room at the Hampton Inn for your dog. Of course, if that's your price point and vibe, they got you covered. The check in staff are friendly. I got a one on one tour a couple of weeks before our reservation, and the guide was very sweet and pointed out everything. I saw every kennel room, the play rooms (even though we weren't using that), etc. Drop off was easy, as was pick up. They do use the standard slip leashes and hand your pet's gear back to you at drop off, so don't forget your leash and collar when you return! I did opt to bring her food, and her slow feeder, but they handed the bowl right back and told me they had the same one. Kora got regular walks, but I did decline the double priced adventure walk, though if she has to go for an extended stay, she might get the upgrade. There is an overnight kennel attendant, and the kennel is affiliated with the vet hospital across the street, so there is vet care available. I also found that, due to their larger size and staff, that they were much more generous with drop off/pick up times than average - any time that they are open, you can come. Headcount was low the day I toured, but I do want to say, I think this is the least stinky kennel I've ever used. I opted for the price included wipe down before pick up, rather than an add on bath, but she came home smelling fine. I think we'll be repeat customers. I just wish it were a wee bit closer to my house! read more

Had my dog's nails clipped and a $50 bath on the day of pick up, next day he was licking paws raw. 3 days later he had 2 front paws swollen and red. Eventhough they have a guarantee, it doesn't cover mediation so they get out of helping me fix our sore paws. How convenient; and after paying $700 for 5 days now I have to get another vet bill! read more

As I was sitting on my couch. Contemplating what to write about this place. And how many stars. I decided to give them 3 stars. But the more I sat here and the more I thought. I felt they are deserving of 2 stars. So why would a pet resort need to deserve 2 stars. Ok. I'll explain. When we dropped of Georgia at 7 am all was going well. Until 2 mins into the drop off. They came to retrieve Georgia and were about to use a choker style leash. At this point we politely stopped her and stated we would like them to use OUR leash. And we requested them to not use the choker style leash. Wait till later to understand why we believe they used the choker leash. We went on to explain Georgia's food and water needs. At this point they explained to us that if Georgia had accidents that they would need to stop the water. I told them she needs water. And to keep it full. And that she most likely would not have an accident. Then the tv was discussed. Yes. We paid for the room with tv. We requested the tv to be left on all night long for Georgia for background noise. Because if she hears other dogs it makes her anxious. We also paid for a room with a camera for us to view her. The camera worked well and we didn't have issues with it. We also paid for the daycare. The daycare went well and we didn't have issues. We were able to view her on the camera in daycare as well. We paid for her to have a bath and nails done before we picked her up. All is well here. During check in we requested a photo album of her time here. There would be an extra charge for this and we agreed to it. During check in we stated that Georgia is not allowed to have water and food within 6 hours of pickup. Well. Just read on to understand our frustration. So it's pick-up day. This is where the frustration begins. Georgia was not injured in any way. And her time in the daycare with other dogs was awesome. So why frustrated? Well it started with the leash. Remember I said we requested OUR leash? Well when they brought the food bag out to us. The lady asked for our leash. We stated that they had it. And they were supposed to use it only. A few mins passes. And they said to us. That we should check at home. That it must be there. So at this point I'm upset and I tell them that I believe the used the choker style leash. They insisted they did not. I said to them that if you think I took it home. How is that possible. Either way they found it in a cubby hole. They said they know they used it often. Hard to believe if they could not find it. The photo album was not taken. We wanted it. And they forgot about taking the pictures. Very disappointing. And finally the food and water. We found out after we left that indeed they fed her. Not because this place told us. But because Georgia told us. See pictures. I had to tear half the car apart to clean it. We ended up calling them. And complained about the food and their answer was. Sorry. We overlooked it. So to end this long review. This place is nice. But they don't communicate internally to all the employees. If a guest requires certain things like their own leash or no food and water for a certain time. Then maybe they should communicate better. I'm undecided if I will be back. The manager offered $50 off after they found out I had to clean throw up. The bill is $431 for four days. Edit I decided to give 3 stars. I was just frustrated. read more

Terrible customer service. Called to pick up my dogs a day early and said would arrive after closing time. They agreed I could pick them up, but were closed when I arrived. Why agree to do it if you then don't? Drove from airport for nothing and arrived 20 minutes after closing time at the time I said I would arrive. Just picked up our mini golden doodle from PBTL after a 3 night stay. I'm reluctant to leave her because she's so attached to us. For her first 5 years she was a mistreated puppy mill mama. We've owned her for 2 years now and she's still very timid with strangers, hates loud noises, and has never ever barked. I especially love the webcams in the rooms so we could check on her. She had a Board Walk room with a patio. The patio affords them the luxury of exiting onto a potty friendly surface if they need it between outdoor breaks. The staff was very helpful in answering any questions I had. I called each day to check on her and they were courteous and patient. I also purchased daily cuddle time and an extra potty break. She was very happy to see us today, she smelled good;) and I'm sure she was treated well during her stay. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Paws by the Lake pet resort and we're looking forward to boarding her here again, in the future. read more

I've debated on posting this for a while. The vet hospital is amazing! The daycare and boarding is a mess. Our two dogs were scheduled to stay there for a week while we went out of town. We dropped them off and went to the airport. We didn't even board the plane and I got a call from the vet advising us that one of our dogs got attacked and need to get stitches. No one from the boarding/ daycare called us to explain what happen. I never got a clear answer on how he was attacked. If the dog (s) that attacked mine was being boarded there or if they were just there for day care. Either way Due to him having stitches he could not go to daycare with his sister. They agreed to walk both of them instead of daycare. My gut was telling me I should fly home. Instead I trusted the staff to take care of my dogs and chalked it up as an accident. I figured the staff would watch them like a hawk, make sure the stay would be enjoyable and give them the attention they deserved. The next night I could not see the dogs on the cameras because the light was off. It was after hours and figured I would get the light issue resolved the next day. Instead I got a call from the vet advising me that the dogs we in the hospital area again because both of them may have ingested something while in there room. (Who puts something in the room without supervision that could harm the dogs?) Once again no one from the daycare/ boarding had any idea what was going on. I cut the vacation short left my wife, my kid and my in-laws and came home. I was told because of the issues we wouldn't be charged. I took both dogs to my personal vet. The one had the stitches taken out and appeared to check ok. The other dog. Had a fur less spots on her two front legs that she kept chewing at. It's my understanding that she was chewing at her legs because of stress. I had to put her on medication. I didn't try to get paws by the lake to pay for the new vet bill and just wanted to move on. She eventually got better but now has a big separation issue from us or her brother. 2 months later I get a bill in the mail from paws by the lake for over $300. I left a voicemail inquiring about the charges. I got a call back and was told it was for my one dog being boarded and for her walks. After much discussion, explaining what happen (even though they had a file documenting the issues I had), they agreed to drop the charges. It was at this moment I decided to write this review. Not only did we waste a lot of money, ruin our vacation, cause a ton of stress but most importantly I feel horrible that my dogs had to go through all that. Needless to say I'll never use their services again and hope no one has to deal with what I went through. read more

I used to take my puppy there, and at first was pretty happy with the place. But then, things changed. She came home with a virus that left cauliflower sores in her mouth and they just didn't seem to care. Then, I started to get phone calls to come get her, that she was misbehaving. But the problem appeared to be that there were too many dogs in a room and not enough supervision, which caused a stressful environment for the dogs. I've since taken her to another day care, and there has been no issues whatsoever. The staff who are hands on with the dogs are pretty good, however I can't say the same for management. I can't recommend this daycare. Expensive and not efficiently run. read more

My dog went to paws by the lake for two years and he loved it so much. The people who work in the daycare are truly so amazing and I'm glad I brought my dog there. I am moving away or I'd have taken my dog there the rest of his life. I heard amazing things about this place... we have a 3 year old German Shepherd- We took her here for a two night stay - not a big issue (she has had a blast at Little River Pet Resort and on her pack walks with our dog sitter/ daycare elsewhere, and training)... asked to put her in daycare while there as she is highly active. They "evaluated " her and she failed. Apparently because all she wanted to do was run and be aloof however the other dogs barked at her because they were "unfamiliar" with German Shepherds (apparently so is the staff). ‍‍ Evaluating " staff member" said for her safety they could not place her with these dogs because they are not used to a " German Shepherd personality."... hence - our dog suffered for their ignorance. Pretty expensive for 3 potty breaks and the rest kennel time. Never , ever again. If you have a small, passive, quiet dog- this is you place... if your's is high energy- pass. read more

I've been taking my 1 yr old. mutt to Paws since she was 6 months old. In Feb. I rescued another puppy and have been taking them both for months. I've used them for daycare weekly, and also for boarding. My dogs have always come home with good report cards (I love the report cards!) and the staff has always been kind to my face. There are a could of issues that I have with the facility to date: 1. They have cameras, which is a great bonus, however I've seen other animals be treated unlike I would want my own animals treated. 2. When picking up my dogs up from boarding, they also returned with food when they were sent with the specific amount they eat everyday. I understand sometimes pet's won't eat when they're away from home, but why was I never contacted about this? 3. Recently the started splitting my pets into two different rooms without first notifying or suggesting this to me. I noticed they were separated due to the camera's in each room. My dogs were both suffering through anxiety being away from each-other, which I witnessed through the camera. 4. Once I voiced my opinion on not separating my dogs, I was told that my younger puppy was too rough with the little dogs. Which I would have been completely understanding of, had I been informed before action was taken on their end. Needless to say, I won't be continuing to send my pets here. I appreciate the hard work of some of the workers, but for the price you pay, my animals should be treated well. read more

We've boarded our pets here a couple of times and it's always a great experience and well worth the money. Our pup doesn't like boarding and when we recently got a kitten the two got along great. The cat actually comforts our small dog during storms and fireworks. When we boarded them recently we were thrilled that we could room them together because the staff feels as we do that our pets' comfort is the most important. We splurged on the more expensive rooms so we could log in and watch them with the camera to check in. It's a really nice feature. And they were extra accomodating by turning on a TV when it stormed so that our dog didn't hear the commotion and get anxious. We've only been a couple of times but they know our pets by name and always seem excited when they walk in. This is the only place we'll ever board our furbabies. Well worth every penny! read more

Have used facility for years. Staff very friendly. Generally dogs did well. A few mishaps. Accidents happened. But issues got addressed. Have spent well over 15 grand boarding dogs for vacation. Sadly one of our dogs had been returned with and huge mats, bladder infection. All of them smelled. Another had cuts. When I called to express concern, I was told dogs no longer welcome there! I was appalled! The Vet did not return my call. Dogs also had accidents getting cut on fences multiple times, and other concerns. When any business stops listening to customers concerns, it's sad. No dog should be returned with mats, an infection and odors. Not for that price. The worst part, there was no apology or call from the Veternarian owner. The facility sadly for us has changed for the worse. read more

I hate to leave nasty reviews but they have given me no choice. My family came to Miami to visit for the holidays so we left our family pets with them for the week. We picked them up this weekend and now our Great Dane has kennel cough and is going to the bathroom inside and she has been house trained for years. And our older shepherd has been put at risk! You would think they would take responsibility and pay not only for the vet visit but for the antibiotics that are required and prescribed by this vet but they refused to pay for her antibiotics. So far we have had nothing but good experiences there. We've been using them for about 3 years now and Kat always comes back really happy from there. They take really good care of her and they always give her a lot of extra attention. She's one of the few Irish Wolfhounds that they get in there. So she's always somewhat of a novelty. And for her size she is the biggest most lovable thing in the world. You can't help but want to hang out with her and spend time with her. The only issue we ever have is that they don't wipe her bum after she does her business. And we do. So we have to wash her bum a little bit when we get her back. But all in all they take wonderful care of her she's never come back to us sick and she's never come back injured. But we also don't let her go out and do open play with the other dogs. I'm afraid that either she would get excited and scare one of the others so that it would attack her or she might hurt it trying to play with it. And the last thing I need is her getting hurt because some little tiny poodle or something gets terrified of her and attacks her. read more

I got recommendations for this facility, but in the future I will be researching a new place or hopefully a family member will help out. First off, I talked with the facility before I brought my dog in knowing they required a flu shot. My dog just recently had an exam, all shots and microchip. Only thing is I didn't get the booster flu shot before he was boarded. So when I brought him in to be boarded they said because I didn't get the booster it was null and void and he would need another flu shot. I said fine, but then they said they would need to exam him and charge me. I told them I included all of my recent exam papers and all vet info etc. which was all done 2 months prior. They told me because they didn't see him that they would have to exam him and charge an exam fee. I had no choice because I was leaving that night. So right there was an extra $81. I gave them a bag of refrigerated food along with dry and instructions on how I feed him. I also thought they had a web cam to check on your dog only to find out it was only the $50+ rooms. I called every other day to check on him and they told me he was fine and that they cleaned his cage daily. I wondered why they needed to "clean" his cage daily. After bringing him home I noticed his behavior was very off. He constantly tries to hump and rough house my other dog, whom my mom kept while I was gone to cut down on cost. Also every night since he's been back has pooped during the night in the house. I thought he had a stomach issue or something, but the next night it happened again. So I kept him in my kitchen, he usually sleeps with my son, no issues. He pooped again. So I thought he must be really confused and decided to crate him again to get him back in routine. He pooped in the corner of his cage, which he has never done. I chose this place from recommendations, paying a higher price per night thinking he would get better care. Even knowing they nickel and dime you for every little extra that should be included in a $30+ night, not knowing they did as little as they possibly could. When I picked him up, I got my entire bag of refrigerated food back, meaning they didn't give it to him. They said he was clean when I called to check on him, but his blanket was full of pee, he's been aggressive towards my other dog and has pooped every morning since I brought him home. In my opinion, if your paying a premium for your dog, the facility should at least include a night service to take your dog out, not closing up at 6pm and calling it a night and returning sometime in the morning and charging you extra for an extra potty time. And feed or medicate your dog upon regrets. It's been very obvious they stuck my dog in a kennel and did the very minimal they could for him. read more

I am a very nervous pet owner, who was terrified to leave my dog in Cleveland during my 12-day vacation -- but Paws By The Lake eased all of my anxiety! The staff is incredibly responsive, I could watch my dog on a webcam (which I did all the time, hence the nervous dog owner part...). My dog does not do well with other dogs, and I felt completely confident that the staff would keep her separate while still giving her a great experience. I also had her groomed while she was there, and it was the best grooming job she has ever had! It is definitely not a cheap option, but I wouldn't consider leaving my dog anywhere else -- I feel like my dog's vacation was just as good as mine! read more

this was our first time boarding our dog anywhere...yeah, i dont think we'll be doing this again anytime soon, and especially not here. we were quoted a price and even booked, but when we went to check our dog in were told that---oopsies, no sorry...it's more money. and then when we came to pick him up, he's got kennel cough! did they tell us? mmm, nope. we had to go to the vet (with which they are affiliated) to find out--and of course, pay for the meds to have him get better. so i guess, if you want your dog to come home sick and have to pay for it to get better---board them here.... read more

They were very nice to my dog but they overfed my dog (I supplied the food) and she can home coughing and tired. They forced me to get a flu vaccine $89 before they would board my dog which my vet said was not proven effective. I will not take my dog there again. read more

We had our Pekingese spayed at the clinic.Then had to be boarded for 3 days as we where out of town due to illness in family. In there care our dogs sutures herniated. Resulting in a second operation 10 days. Very disheartening read more
