Ok I LOVE this place! I saw it has good reviews on a couple websites so I went in yesterday to meet the mechanic. I am a huge fan! I am super picky it usually takes me a LONG time to find someone I trust. My parents are loyal but don't always have the best mechanic to be loyal to. I needed to find them a new one and I didn't have much time. In the last 6 months i have driven their car twice and mentioned something is wrong in the front end. They took it in to the regular guy a couple times to have it looked at. He said nothing needed replacing, he wasn't gouging but he was wrong and I knew it. I started their car Monday morning and noticed the starter has a flat spot. I searched several websites and found this place. I ran over and had a chat with the mechanic and explained what I noticed and why snd just knew he was my type of guy! He swapped the starter and tightened whatever was loose in the front end while he was under there. My parents are converted! Yay! I finally know my parents have a mechanic that I can trust. :-) read more

Believe it or not, honest auto mechanics are NOT a thing of fiction, and Chaska Auto Repair is your proof. We've brought our minivan in twice for repair, and while lesser shops would find something to replace, the great people at Chaska Auto Repair have only fixed what needed fixing, even if they don't make a killing off of us. Case Study #1: Our steering wheel was shaking quite a bit when we would get up to speed. We knew we needed tires, so we brought it in to a local tire place. The guy said that our rack and pinion was shot and would need to be replaced. He also mentioned that it would be about $1000 to fix. We were planning a road trip that summer, and the last thing I wanted was to be stranded in some other state with a major mechanical problem. So we went to Chaska Auto for a second opinion. The guy took a look underneath, tightened something that was starting to come loose. Total Charges: $15. He said, "Your rack and pinion has a lot of life left in it, so I just tightened [I forget the name of the part he fixed] because it looked like it was starting to come loose. It shouldn't give you any more trouble." On top of that, they knew we needed the car for the weekend, so they said, "We'll just leave the key in your car. Just slip the money in the mail slot in the door. We trust you." Wow. That would NEVER happen with a big box repair place like Goodyear or a dealership. Case Study #2: More recently, our power steering went out, and since we were leaking power steering fluid all over the place, I thought it was the pump. With Haynes manual and parts in hand, I tried to get to it myself. No dice. So I brought it to Chaska Auto, prepared to pay $400 for the parts and labour. I was pleasantly surprised when they called me the next day and said they just needed to replace the power steering return hose, and that the total damages would be $115. I know for a fact that other repair shops would have let me think it was the pump, charged me for it, and replaced the hose along with it. Chaska Auto Repair is the best repair shop around. They will get my business over any other shop in the Twin Cities. I would recommend using them, even if it's a bit longer of a drive for you. You will be glad you did. read more

Did some research on yelp after hearing a few friends who work on cars recommended this place. The business is definitely an honest one - I had my wheels aligned and asked about a brake job and other wheel related concerns. I was told I do not need a brake job and the other concerns were not really worth the expense I would be going through. I will definitely be going there for any future car situations. The honest feedback I received showed me they are not about cheating someone - they are about making and keeping customers, and in turn gaining more. I drive a 99 Honda Civic. I thought I was having problems with the shocks. Took it ot Chaska Auto last year and was told that the shocks were OK Took it there again on 4 15 13 and was told the same thing, in fact they said Hondas are famous for not needing shocks But they told me I needed a Ball Joint and I said OK and to change the oil if necessary. This morning, 4 18 13 I took it in and they replaced the ball joint and said I would not need an oil change for 1400 miles. Wonder how many other grages would be this honest?
