Chason is a nice place to go to try a variety of southern foods. Self serve and most of the time it is busy. I try this a few weeks ago and their brand new spot is way better. More room, spacious, etc. I really like it. It seem more relaxing and less busy with it being so spacious or maybe I picked a good time to dine, in the early afternoon. I used to dine here a great deal years back before the new building. Since moving back to the area I decided to go back to try. I shy away from Buffets, due to food safety I try and stay away or don't dine there often. I am big in to sanitation when it comes to food safety but I don't know about those who eat or serve themselves before me. Overall the dining was nice. read more

Well was really impressed with the selection and food quality nothing was mid or mediocre imo. For what we'd pay at Golden Corral for mediocre food with less selection we got a wide variety of grehhat Southern food . I used to truly enjoy this place and was a regular customer, but over the past couple of months the quality has noticeably declined. It honestly feels like there may have been a change in the kitchen staff. The black-eyed peas have been extremely salty to the point of being inedible, and the greens have had the same issue. Unfortunately, the peach cobbler is consistently burnt on top. While the service from most of the staff is great, the fry table area rarely has hot food available, and I usually have to ask for fresh, hot gizzards to be brought to the table. The atmosphere can also be hit or miss depending on who is working the register. One particular employee--an older woman with short hair--has been repeatedly rude. She plays music that is mostly static through the speakers, and when the issue is mentioned, the volume is simply turned up instead of being addressed. This used to be one of our go-to spots, but due to these ongoing issues over the last eight weeks, we've stopped coming in. I really hope things improve because this place once had a lot going for it. read more

My 3 stars cover breakfast and lunch. Let's start with breakfast. They have the bare minimum in breakfast foods. Only saw 2 people behind the rather odd laid out serving line. Trying to keep it up. They ran out of scrambled eggs and hash browns. Pancakes were almost made to order and the syrup is in a little bowl. By the time you get to your table. It's now on your fingers. Now for the lunch. For this you need to navigate through a doorway for chicken,shrimp,bbq and the salad bar. The bar by the way doesn't have iceberg lettuce. It has your cheap meats and a few veggies. Guess my biggest issue is the way the whole thing is laid out. The lines come from two directions. There isn't much room to move around. Now the service is really good. Not a problem there. There's a lot of tables and places to sit. So that's another plus. I'm not saying don't try it. I will say if you expect an experience like the GC up the road. You'll probably be disappointed. First I don't give bad reviews just honest experiences. Chasons is a great restaurant but today it was off, the food that I had was over cooked . I did a sample take out tray , which allowed me to try various dishes . Liver with onions and gravy, liver looked greyish green, and some pieces looked dry even in gravy, dirty rice was decent, peas were over cooked, carrots were over cooked, pasta salad was over cooked tomatoes were halved would have like to had them chopped a little better plus it needed more flavor, chicken gizzards and liver was fried to hard. I personally did not enjoy my plate but they are credited for having good country cooking. Service was great, done in facility was clean and they have ample parking .I wish them much success in their new location read more

I had meatloaf, shrimp , collards, black eyed peas, salad. The meatloaf was cold and hard, shrimp was cold. Collards were bitter and not fully cooked Salad was ok - but it's salad . Black eyed peas and fat back was good. I haven't been to a chasons since they were on Ramsey street. They were good then. Once my hubby took me to the in hope mills. Tust was a flop. Good was cold there . I was scared to eat it . So this one o has the same experience pretty as I did when my hubby first introduced me to them . Bad ! The food was not good. The bbq ribs were chewy and the potato salad had way too much mayo. The line seemed to come from both directions. The only good thing was the service. The waitress was attentive and friendly. I won't be returning however for 75.00 I could have had a steak. read more
