Let's trip was not planned for me so this was a solo mission - actually did an alternate route coming home and this was one of the wineries on the way that was open today. When I walked in I was greeted there was only one worker as the counter which to me look difficult but she was keeping up. They do have flights unfortunately it's more like two sips - I'm more of a fan give me all my pores at once so I can chit chat mingle if I have other people with me luckily was just myself. I tried all the semi-sweet selections which I was only a fan of one but I did purchase my mother a semi-sweet that wasn't too bad. Not really food here per say more of snacks than anything so if you're hungry make sure you eat beforehand Just a suggestion. What was funny as somebody went to pop some popcorn and the lights will start flickering so just be aware of that took me off guard when I saw it. Only thing that I probably didn't like about what the waitress did was when she retrieved the glasses from the top She put her fingers inside every glass except for mines because then I would have said something. Basically she needs a stool It's hopefully they incorporate that next time. Would I come again Not really because the wines did not wow me but if you're more of a dry type person then you might like this place. We loved this place. It's kind of hidden away, but it is a true treasure to find. Even though they were busy that day, the bartender kept up with everyone and did a great job. We ordered up flights of wine and beer. I rarely say this when doing flights, but I liked every sip I took. We also got the grand tour from the owner which included his interesting story. We ended up leaving with a couple bottles of wine to take home. Such a great find, and I look forward to going back. read more

This was our last stop for the night. We were on a tagabrew quest and this was on our list. Once we ordered our beers, we found out they were playing music bingo, so of course, we hung around! We didn't win, but it was still very fun. We have been to the Instead location and the Auburn Hills location, so we knew we would enjoy the beers here. The atmosphere was airy and open. The patrons were a variety of ages and all very nice. The service was fast and very friendly, especially for how busy it was. We spoke to the owner, who was very nice and he took us on a private tour of the air hanger! This was such a nice touch. We were extremely appreciative. We didn't eat anything so I can't really comment on the food. Overall, this was a great spot! We would definitely recommend it! read more

Went there in the fall of 2018, I got the mushroom gnocchi. The portions were normal-sized -- folks expecting a huge meal should be prepared for something normal. The gnocchi was a bit mushy, to be honest. Good flavor, with warm garlic seasoning, but mushy. Perfectly cooked green beans though! Black cherry cider: delicious. Décor is warehousy but smells good! One of my friends and I stopped in on a self-directed winery tour on 4/1/21 and were sooooo glad we did!! It's a super cool building and we can't wait to go there in the summer and sit outside on the patio! Austin was our server and he was SUPER fun and informative! Stopped by on a Monday at Irish Hills location while visiting the area! Only winery open on a Monday in the area! We did the beer and wine tasting flights! My daughter had the frozen peach cider. We nibbled on the pretzel and blue cheese sauce. We were there too early for the pizza, we would love to go back for the the weekend bands. Nice manager good knowledge of their products! read more

Wow... this place is large . Tons of seating room. Airplane theme for decorations. This was not my favorite winery. There were no crackers for between the samples and not much of a description by the staff . The samples were rather expensive and were stingy in the amount of wine. We loved our two visits to Chateau Aeronautique! We stopped for a tasting in Irish Hills on the way in and loved it!! Super hospitality! We then stopped for a couple of glasses and a charcuterie plate in Jackson and it was another super experience! Michael was great and we had a blast chatting with him and other customers. I've been to the Irish Hills location and just visited the original location in Jackson, and both are absolutely DELIGHTFUL. The wine is delicious and the beer is delectable and the service is always wonderful. And the locations are really warm and comforting, a great place to drink a glass of wine or a pint. read more

So... My husband and I were tooling around, cruising in the Camry.... looking for bait shops (trying to find a map of lakes in the area)... and we came upon this new little winery. Who would've thought there would be a winery in Jackson Michigan? We pulled up to find this great little tasting room and giant hangars, as in plane hangars. The parking lot was full so we took that a good sign. As we were walking up the stairs we ran into the owner slash winemaker... he was on his way out for some reason... but warned us that the tasting room was full, taken over by a 50th birthday party, and that the ladies were getting a little rowdy. We are always up for a good time but this was a little out of control.. We go in the tasting room (which let me tell you had one of the coolest interiors we have ever seen.. a great circular oak bar w/ a marble top, cool stools, a neat plaster treatment on the walls, and a kick ass chandelier hanging from the ceiling)... and it is packed! Many ladies were sitting around the bar and they were loud! And just taking up too much room.. there was also a group from another local winery.. and there was this poor gal serving as bartender/manager. She was swamped and didn't know left from right for a moment. We felt really bad for her.. The ladies finally decided to leave and move onto the next winery, thank god they had a driver, and we finally were able to sit down. After things finally calmed down the bartender finally regained some composure. She needed to sit down and have a drink. The wines were good... nothing too stellar, except for the Pinot Gris and a french styled red. The one thing we didn't really get was the fact that they had a Cab on the menu but since they only had one case left of it they were not going to open any.. they were waiting for someone to blindly purchase it without even trying it. They would've sold a few bottles... ** One interesting thing about this place, is that in one of the hangars they have antique planes that you can look at and they actually have an airstrip that you could land on if you wanted to fly in... 300x3000 ft. grass airstrip... but then again who wants to drink and fly? This is the best winery in Michigan! I ended up taking 3 bottles home with me to test out and hope to go back for more. We did a dry red flight which was poured by the owner himself. He was super friendly and very smart when it came to wine. He told us stories and explained different wine regions and why they are called what they are. The reds that were my favorite were the syrah which was full flavor and packed a punch. The Chardonay was super oaked and almost had smokey flavor to it. Very smooth to drink. read more

Update: out Dry Riesling ($17.99) that we took home was awful. Upon pouring, it immediately smelled and tasted musty and left a nasty aftertaste. It seems the wine was corked - it even made a sound I've never heard before when opening a bottle. This has been our experience with pretty much every Michigan winery: tastes great during the tastings, but the bottle we buy and take home is nowhere near as good. read more

What a great experience! I received a private wine tasting as a gift, and I had no idea what to expect. Chateau Aeronautique is an adorable winery off the beaten path in Jackson. It is set it in a airport subdivision, which I have never even heard of before! A small gazebo is set in front of the home for tastings, and then a private tasting room is below in the hangar. All of the wines were really good, but I loved the Vignoles and the Chardonnel. I am looking forward to going back for more tastings in the future. They were very knowledgeable, and I really enjoyed my experience there. read more

Ok where to start. We visited this place on mothers day. When we first arrived we were a bit thrown off because we didn't realize that we were walking up to someone's house. However when we got in the airplane hanger/winery. We met by a very friendly staff and a free tour of the establishment. The wine was good, but the star of the show was the pairing of a particular wine with a cupcake with a special frosting that was made just for the wine. I waited until I returned home to write a review to be sure I was not writing out of spite. However, I have never been so disappointed in a winery experience. We waited over an hour for both wine flights and food. Our wine flights took a while and almost weren't granted to us. We ordered the flights as soon as we were seated and 45 minutes later we were told that there weren't enough glasses. It's unfortunate - but I think there's room for growth. read more

We were at Chateau Areonautique about 4 years ago and the Michigan wine was pretty good. We again visited last Sunday and were VERY disappointed. They have really expanded, added beer and another facility, BUT the quality of the wine is not as good as the 2 times before. Best winery experience in Michigan! Very unique and beautiful bar and wonderful wines. David was extremely informative and the other woman that he was working with was also very friendly. David gave us a wonderful tour of the winery. The wines were very good! The Pinot Noir, Syrah and Aviatrix Rouge(Cab,cab franc,syrah and merlot) were our favorites! They even paired one of the wines with an amazing cupcake! We will be back! It is the first time I have seen a subdivision where all of the homes had airplane hangars! We had a great time! We decided to visit the SE Pioneer Wine Trail for Memorial Day weekend, starting south and working our way north. This was our 5th stop. We walked in 10 minutes before closing time, and thought we may be brushed off, but quite the contrary! We were welcomed with warm enthusiasm, provided the entire tasting and winery tour as you have read about in other reviews! It was the highlight of our day! The young ladies were pleasant and hospitable, David was extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and Charlie (who had dropped in after flying in from Japan that morning) was just plain fun! We left on a high (not the alcoholic kind) and couldn't wait to come home and tell our friends. We also can't wait to go back. There was not a wine that we didn't enjoy, and it was the first Chardonnay that we actually liked! This is a MUST SEE stop on your trip! We will definitely return! read more

Bad experience. We went back in June 2013. We were the last wine tasting of the day (my husband and I). The owner did the tasting with us in a little air conditioned shed thing because the normal area for tastings was being renovated. He made like 5 jokes about chicks digging him cause he's a pilot. After the wine he showed us his airplane parked in its garage and the barrels of wine. Really overrated. It was all very rushed too. My husband and I were still tipsy from all the drinks and they were practically pushing us out the door. They recommended a restaurant and gave us a carry out menu. When we went to use our groupon to pay they still made us pay full price for some reason, even though we bought two bottles of their wine. We got in the car at afterward and just looked at each other, knowing neither of us was okay to drive. We looked up the "nearby" restaurant they recommended and the place had gone out of business. The private wine tastings with the owner is well worth the money, for the cheese/wine pairings, and for the great conversation. Have visited Chateau Aeronautique a few times now - once for a private tasting with the owner, as well as to just to stop in on a lazy Saturday afternoon. The private tastings are very worthwhile - Lorenzo is a fascinating person to talk to, he loves his wines and telling people all about them. The winery itself is a lot of fun, too - the wine is made in the back room of an airplane hangar, and they have lots of fun events throughout the year (a Halloween party, a Mardi Gras party, a 'fly-in' in the summer where they get people to come in with their personal aircraft, etc). read more

LOVED this place! Didn't know about it until we were at another winery along the Pioneer Wine Trail, but SO GLAD we stopped! Our vintner (I wish I remembered his name) was so friendly and helpful, and spoke with us for almost an hour regarding wine.
