I absolutely love this place! The decor, the menu, everything is just so aesthetic and vibey! I have been here plenty of times now and they always have great wine and great service. The most recent time I tried their dirty martini and it was good but I switched back to wine. I do miss when it used to be coffee shop and wine, now they're only open at night for wine. They have plenty of bar and table seating, I haven't ever really had to wait for a seat which has been nice. There's plenty of street parking right on Cherry but it can be busy when it's nice out and you might have to circle around a few time to find some parking but its not a big deal! read more

My friends and I had a wine night at Chateau and it was an enjoyable time! Upon arrival we were greeted and given the option of multiple different tables to sit at. Our waiter approached the table shorter after to take our order and was attentive the entire visit. I got a glass of Riesling which I really enjoyed. I was a little disappointed at how small the wine selection was if you wanted just a glass. I was hoping for a wider selection. The atmosphere of the wine bar was fun and uplifting but slightly too loud to hold a normal conversation which made the evening a little challenging. Stopped by here for the first time after having dinner down the street at Maru Sushi. Was immediately impressed by the interior of this place. I love the warm lighting and the simple yet gorgeous textures of wood and brick and velvet and gold. It was truly a gorgeous place to be. We were greeted by someone right away who let us pick where we could sit. The menu was pretty neat to look at. Mostly because there was a lot of cool names on there I've never heard of. While reading the description of their pais, I read the words "black leather" and "cherry" and was immediately impressed. My bf and I both ended up ordering the same glass and we both absolutely loved it. It was so smooth and perfect in every way. I kept saying "I think this is the best glass of wine I've ever had" and almost laughing at myself because it was just that good. I wanted another glass but it was getting late. This brand new coffee shop is cozy and inviting. I really liked the furnishings and details with warm wood and shiny gold fixtures. It has a European flair that I think is a bit unique for coffee shops/bars in GR. They are currently open for daytime hours serving coffee and Field & Fire pastries, but the plan is to open as a wine bar in the evening as well starting mid-February 2024. My latte was $6 before any additions. It wasn't the best latte I've ever had, but it was very good and I'd order one again. They offer SEY coffee and had a few options for Nate's drip coffee ($4.50). The seating was comfortable and we stayed for about an hour getting some work done - they had fast wifi that was working the whole time, yay! I overheard an employee telling a customer that they get a paid a living wage so there's no need for tipping - love that. I'm excited for this addition to the area and am curious to check out their wine and small plate offerings in the future. read more

My girlfriends and I decided to come here for a quick happy hour and grab some wine and bubbles! I absolutely love the sunshine that comes through from the big front windows - it gets pretty warm right there so I wonder how it will be in the summer time - but it was lovely on a colder winter night. We didn't end up getting any shareables but we really enjoyed the time. We ordered a bottle of bubbles to share and were promptly greeted, but it did take a bit of time for them to come back and provide some water and asked for a bucket for the bubbles to stay cool. I definitely want to go back and enjoy it some more, maybe check out the cafe portion during the day. The vibes are definitely something worth coming back for. read more

New coffee shop / wine bar that is incredible! It would be a great place to do work/study during the day or a great place to hang out with friends pre or post dinner for wine (they have spirits too). Service is amazing. Plenty of parking is around, especially in the morning which is refreshing. The ambiance feels like this place should be in New York city. What's also interesting is that they don't have you tip bc they state they provider their employees with a livable income. Come check it out!! Feedback for the owners: I would make a fb page to get the word out since there is a certain generation you're missing out on. When I mentioned your place they couldn't find it on fb. New favorite spot in GR! I came on a Sunday morning for a latte and to do a bit of work. It was bright and sunny inside and a pretty spot to hang out at. The latte was definitely on the pricier side but I felt like I was paying for the great atmosphere as well. Later that same day my husband and I came back at night to try the wines and small plates. Honestly we had the best time. The staff is fantastic, knowledgeable, and passionate. We sampled a few different wines and tried the charcuterie board and the chicken pate. Everything was fabulous. Fantastic new cafe and wine bar! I love that combination, and they nail it. Had the pleasure of visiting during their first live music night and loved the ambiance, service, and wine selection. First, the good: Chateau is beautiful inside and looks classy and elegant. The wines are terrific. We went recently, hoping to stay awhile, chat, and enjoy some of their great offerings. Unfortunately, my husband and I left after one drink because the the main wine guy there is so obnoxiously LOUD and the music was jacked up so high that we could not relax at all. He is friendly and knowledgeable, but just SHOUTS when he's advising you about wine at your table and he SHOUTS when he's behind the bar (to his coworkers or anyone in earshot). This is just his regular voice! Also, why does the music have to be at 150 decibels? For such an elegant place it should be in the background, but this felt like a loud bar. Acoustics in there do not help matters. I would love to return but don't want pay top dollar for wine and food if I can't relax and enjoy it after a long day. C'mon Chateau, you can do better! read more
