Qahwah is a coffee shop I had been wanting to try for a while, so I am glad I finally made it in. The space has a great vibe. It was fairly busy, but we were still able to get a table. Overall, everything was solid. The Qishr was good, though I think it could have used a bit more kick. Aside from that, the coffee was excellent and the rest of what we tried did not disappoint. I recently went to Qawah House with a friend! It's a place my friend Janelle has constantly recommended. I never realized that it's located so close to the movie theater and Meijer Gardens! I would absolutely stop over there before or after going to one of those. There's ample parking and it's within the general area of the movie theater. The spot itself has a good amount of seating and some of the coolest decor. There is a massive wooden art piece detailing history which is so fun to just sit and read. The staff was more than friendly and polite. They gave us some really helpful information and recommendations for drinks. We didn't end up eating any of the food but the honeycomb dessert looked incredible and my boss has said that the spinach pie is amazing. I really loved my strawberry matcha! It's a little coffee house gem tucked in with all the other Knapp's Corners fun spots. I just had a Yemeni sweet latte. Bold and rich coffee flavors swirled with sweet cream and touch of sugar. Paired it with their traditional honeycomb pastry, drizzled with honey. It's fun to bite off each little bubble sections one at a time. Free WiFi, so it also makes a great remote work spot. I go to their Charlotte location pretty often and when I saw it in GR I had to try it. It's the same exact replica, I am in love with their pistachio latte but I am very disappointed they don't have many vegan desserts. we're always excited to try a new coffee spot. the yemeni latte and multiple matcha flavors peaked our interest. my partner loved the yemeni latte that has ginger, cardamom, and cinnamon flavors. i got the strawberry matcha which was good but more so tasted like strawberry milk. i wish the strawberry flavor was more of a compliment to the matcha. I ordered my matcha with almond milk but it does come with a dairy cold foam so you'll need to specify that be skipped for a truly dairy free drink. there are many delicious looking pastries but none that looked vegan unfortunately. read more

Qahwah House is a Yemeni coffee chain that started in Detroit. They currently have 17 locations in Michigan, Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Ohio, North Carolina, and Wisconsin. I love checking out coffee shops, so even though it's a chain, I believe it's locally owned. Nate and I stopped in recently to grab a drink and a snack. The space is bright with lots of windows. The menu was a bit overwhelming with lots of choices, but they were patient and kind and gave good recommendations. There is a big case full of delicious looking desserts and pastries. I ended up getting the Adeni chai and a pistachio dream cake. Nate got a Yemeni coffee and the carrot cake. We were given a buzzer for our order. I didn't see a wifi sign posted but I am sure they have free wifi. I liked the big map they had on the wall. When our buzzer went off, we got our order - everything was nicely arranged on a tray. The Adeni chai was delicious! Very smooth and quite sweet (I might ask for it less sweet next time). I loved the pistachio dream cake, it was creamy and delicious. The carrot cake was so good too, not dry and with some delicious frosting. Overall this is a really nice spot to gather with friends or get some work done. New coffee spot in town! The Yemeni latte is a must try- slightly sweetened with ginger, cardamom and cinnamon - so good!! Jubani coffee pot had the same flavors, but not sweetened at all - they do ask if you'd like this. The pot is a bit deceiving as we had a bit leftover. The carrot cake was very good! Moist with good flavor. The frosting was not overly sweet. Overall a good place to try if you are ok with waiting a while, it took about 25 minutes to get our coffees. read more

Great location with a shared parking lot. I really like how late it is open since most coffee places close early! They have a good variety of drinks and can make many of them hot or iced. They also have some customizations, such as adding honey or vanilla to the match. We all enjoyed our coffee drinks (at like 9pm haha) and they were pretty too. They also have some small little cakes and pastries available to purchase which I'm told were yummy (by the people we went with). read more

I have been obsessed with Turkish coffee since I first tried it, but I had no idea the diversity of styles of coffee available! And the pastry options are truly out of this world - the Pistachio Dream I tried was cool, creamy, and absolutely delightful - a perfect choice on a hot day! And my coffee choice was the Mofowar, containing a litany of spices most notably the cardamom along with some cream and (per my request) just a dash of sugar to add some sweetness. I heard about this new Yemeni coffee shop by the Celebration Cinema North, and since I adore Turkish coffee, I thought I'd check it out. It is located in the old Starbucks location (Starbucks moved into their own building next door). When I arrived, there was enough parking in the lot, and I walked right in and was able to place my order. The cafe was pleasantly full. Always a good sign.The gentleman who took my order smiled and greeted me warmly. I felt like he was welcoming me into his home. I ordered some coffee and I perused the pastries in the cabinet. The gentleman asked if I was looking at pastries, and if I was, they just had some come out of the oven. I always take recommendations of the experts, so I agreed. I got everything to go. The coffee was thick, flavorful, and well balanced but not bitter. The pastry was slightly sweet, but not too sweet, buttery, and flaky. They have some beautiful looking teas and European espresso drinks as well as Middle Eastern coffees, as well as some delectable sweets. read more

I just learned about this place and stopped there this morning while I was driving by. I did not get a drink, sadly, but I am interested to try their coffee or matcha next time! They have a nice pastry counter with Middle Eastern-style desserts. Based on what I read in other reviews and online, I ordered the sabaya pastry and the khaliat alnahl pastry. Both are warmed up for about 5 minutes before serving, and they come with honey, which was delicious. I really enjoyed the cheese-filled khaliat alnahl, and I appreciated that the cashier taught me how to pronounce the name correctly; I think that's really important to share with people. The sabaya was a flaky layered pastry topped with seeds; I expected some sort of filling, but that was my own misunderstanding. Next time, I would order a drink and one of the chocolate or pistachio-based pastries! read more

I visited Qahwah House with a friend and I have to say I am really disappointed. The Sabaya was dry and the honeycomb had a weird texture. The staff made me feel rushed when I was giving my order and asking questions. I was appalled to find out that Qahwah House uses Cappuccine Pistachio Frappe Mix which is loaded with artificial dyes, flavors and contains dairy. I wish I knew that before I ordered my friend her iced pistachio latte with oat milk. She ended up not feeling well so I looked up the ingredients online and found the exact mix on Amazon. Qahwah House is a coffee shop that prides itself on authenticity and culture, but uses generic pistachio frappe mix for one of their signature lattes. It makes me wonder what else they are overcharging for. Not to mention, the tables were dirty underneath. In the meantime, my friends and I will take the drive out to Kalamazoo and go to Mocha House instead! Hopefully someone will open an actual good and authentic Yemeni Coffeeshop in GR sometime soon. Qahwah draws in people that don't know much about the culture, and rips them off completely. read more

They also have a variety of amazing sounding drinks and some great snacks in the pastry case, plus special items like Yemeni coffee and tea. The service was friendly but a tad slow. They're new and still working out the kinks. I took one star off for cost. I had a delicious 16 oz. cold brew, but it was $7 and they charged me another .90 for a splash of oat milk which seems steep! The service and drinks here are amazing! I loved going to Qahwah House in Dearborn MI so for it to branch out to GR is such a great surprise! Everything I have tried so far taste amazing! I think the coffee taste here is definitely one of the smoothest/best taste I have ever had. Even the other options like the refreshers and matcha is very tasty as well. The place itself is also so beautiful as the inside is shined with such beautiful lighting and the natural lighting from the outside. The decor is also gorgeous, my favorite part is definitely the historic distribution of coffee arabica. I would definitely recommend this place if you ever get a chance to try! The staff here is also very kind and helpful! If you ever need a suggestion or have a question asking them feels very easy! I went yesterday and had the Yemeni Latte and Khaliat Alnahl dessert - cream cheese type stuffed pastry - both were excellent. So yummy in fact that I took my husband there today. He had the Turkish coffee, I had the Yemeni latte again and the Sabaya pastry. Everything was wonderful and the service both days was great and super friendly.
