This is an incredible place to live! It is very close to just about everything. Shopping centers down the block on both ends, the freeway is accessible withing 3 minutes of driving, 880N/S 580N/S all within 5 minutes. There are known restaurants around the corner as well. Gas stations at least 5 if you're coming from 880. The management there is really awesome, especially Sam. Whenever you have a problem, they make sure to take care of it right away because they care. I had a project once that required some tools, and I asked if they had them and they let me borrowed the tools. Great amenities like a pool from 3ft-8ft deep, fitness center although it's just literally a exercise bike, central heating, microwave, washer/dryer which takes quarters, dishwasher, grinder, FREE WATER and many other things. Although I did wish it was an indoor pool as the pool gets dirty since there are trees around it. But I was told that they may not offer free water anymore. It doesn't sound like they try to screw you out of your deposit when you move out. We just moved out so we haven't gotten ours back yet, but going through the walk through with Sam, it sounds like we'll get most of ours back. We were told to clean as much as we can and fill up all the holes when you hang frames and other things. One thing that we didn't have is a bathroom window, the exhaust is not powerful enough to suck in all the moist from taking a shower so if you don't wipe out the moisture from the wall it could turn out as mold. The parking could also be a problem if you have visitors. We were granted with 2 parking spots. We have 3 cars, we could pay for an extra parking spot but decided not to, so we could save some money. There are a limited number of open spaces outside. All in all the 4 years I lived here, not a single time I regret. It's like living in a hotel, it's upscale compared to my friends apartments. The closets were new, the carpet was new, the kitchen cabinets were all new. Before you move in I remember that you feel like you are home. Memories were made in this place, sad to say but now that me and my brother are in college it's time to have separate rooms, which is why we moved to a house now with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. You will not regret living here, it is definitely as good as it gets for a place I lived in for 4 years that I called home.

From Jasmin and Steve:…read more Tl;dr best apartment we ever had. We lived at Bel Mark Apartments from July 2017 to March 2022. So, almost 5 years. We lived in a 2 bedroom, 2 bath, corner unit that was about 1,100 square feet. We had 1 parking spot reserved in the gated garage. For the entirety of our tenancy, we paid $2,495 per month in rent, $90 for water, and usually around $30 for electricity. In-unit appliances were on the newer side, but not stainless steel, with almost no needs aside from regular maintenance. Laundry is communal and used to be all coin-operated, but they transitioned to a vendor so you can now use an app. The mail area has been upgraded with package and letter theft-proof infrastructure. Bel Mark is close to San Leandro BART and other public transit. It's not too far from both the 880 and 580 freeways if you drive. We were literally walking distance from Downtown San Leandro, where we could go to the Farmer's Market, local restaurants and bars, the main library, beautiful parks, and more besides. There is always some background noise since it's an apartment in a major metro area, but nothing unusual for those used to living in a city. We never experienced any safety or crime issues personally and always felt very safe walking around, even at night. Our neighbors were the best kind for a big apartment building, pleasant and private. There's so much to say about our time in that apartment... I have included some pictures that don't have people in them so you can get an idea of what the place looks like. But it's more than that. Both of my daughters learned to walk on the carpeted and vinyl flooring. We hosted birthdays, holiday dinners, and movie nights in our living room. We survived the beginning of the pandemic there! It was an amazing place for us. Dalia, Thalia, and Loretta were the property managers we worked with during our tenancy and they are/were phenomenal! They were super helpful whenever we had a maintenance request or other issue. We could reach them easily via phone, email, or in-person at the front desk. They would hold packages for us just in case we weren't home. When we had flooding from an upstairs neighbor, they went above and beyond to ensure we were compensated and/or accommodated as needed, whether that was covering some of our electricity bills, providing extra convenience tools, or giving us access to an empty unit for temporary use. They even worked with us on our move-out condition to ensure we maximized our deposit refund. They also had a great personal touch, always asking about our family and sharing updates about theirs with us too. Luis and Ramon, the main groundskeepers, were prompt, thorough, and could fix anything. They repaired faucets, fixtures, cabinets, appliances, and more. They made sure to leave everything looking as neat and clean as the day we moved in. They were able to perform major repairs in just a couple of hours at most. When we needed updates to our lighting units, they even gave us free upgraded bulbs! While I know tenant and landlord relationships are often fraught, tense, and complicated, I can honestly say that we loved our time at Bel Mark. Even during the rare occasions when there were problems, the staff did everything they could to make us feel comfortable and ensure we understood whatever our options were. Maybe we got lucky and, if so, then we hope you do too if you choose to move there yourself! We highly recommend this place if you're looking for housing in the area.

For roughly the past year, I…read morehave repeatedly reported serious issues involving excessive late-night noise and marijuana smoke entering my apartment, yet these problems continue without an effective resolution. The marijuana smoke is especially unacceptable because I have a four-year-old autistic child living in my home who is being exposed to secondhand smoke. The smell enters through areas such as the bathroom ventilation and bedroom window and has become strong enough to get into our clothing. There have been times when I have taken my child to school and teachers or staff have actually questioned why he smells like marijuana. As a parent, I should NEVER have to explain that nobody in my household is smoking and that the smell is coming from neighboring residents. Management has been notified about this repeatedly. There have also been ongoing late-night arguments, banging, slamming, and excessive noise, sometimes between midnight and 3 AM. These issues have been reported and documented, yet they continue. When I previously raised concerns about being unable to comfortably remain in the apartment, I was essentially told I would still be responsible for a lease-break fee. What makes this even more frustrating is how quickly management takes action when they choose to. My Ford Fusion, which is identified on the lease along with its license plate, was towed from the paid parking space because the permit accidentally fell from the windshield onto the floor. The permit was still inside the vehicle. This was not an abandoned or unauthorized vehicle--it was the registered vehicle belonging to the resident paying for that space. Apparently, a fallen parking permit warrants immediate action and an expensive tow, while repeated complaints about a four-year-old autistic child being exposed to secondhand marijuana smoke and ongoing late-night disturbances can continue for months. I am also concerned about residents' privacy. Three-day rent notices are posted on residents' doors with the information facing outward, potentially allowing neighbors, visitors, delivery drivers, and anyone walking by to see that someone is behind on rent, the amount owed, and other financial details. Required notices can be served without unnecessarily exposing someone's financial hardship to the community. Residents deserve privacy, reasonable communication, consistent enforcement, and a safe and peaceful home. The difference in urgency between these issues and a fallen parking permit speaks volumes about management's priorities.

Few days went on and still no reply so I texted the manager(Claire) once again airing my disappointment. She replied "the unit was filled as of Monday"...that was it. I totally understand the responsibility of building management. She could have informed me at least so that we were not expecting. This complex is professionally managed by Emerald Properties and so far, I'm very satisfied with their team and complex upkeep. I would say for people looking into apartments that they are very much by the book- that is, you are expected to live according to the provided rules and will be notified if you behave otherwise. Really obvious stuff. Our neighbors have been very welcoming and the neighborhood has a good feel to it (1/2 block walk to San Leandro Blvd, 2-3 blocks from the library, maybe 5 blocks from the BART station). I used to live in downtown Oakland and it's nice to not sleep through loud sirens, heavy traffic and the occasional helicopter. We rented this apt with new fixtures, new carpet, and remodeled countertops and cabinetry- very sunny and open. I refrained from 5 stars as we are new and are still getting to know the complex. My neighbors are very nice and do not care when i watch tv late or have friends over. When I first moved in the apartment did not have double pained windows which made my place very cold during the winter. However our building upgraded the windows (which was a big hassle during that time). Now we spend less money on heating and the noise from the outside has been greatly reduced. The only draw back is our rent has been raised by about $200 a month since the time we originally moved. in. The building management told us that the market value of our apartment is way higher than what we pay and that new residences pay much more than we do now. I have no idea if that is true or not but because my apartment has close proximity to my job, bart and down town san leandro stores i will not be moving for the foreseeable future. I like my apartment and building a lot.
