The guy working in there, (possibly Jimmy based on the other reviews?) was wicked nice. My brother and his gf needed helmets (already had bikes) and they asked if it's possible to rent the helmets and he allowed them to just borrow them for free. "I'm not going to charge you for staying safe" is what he told us. THAT alone would have me recommending this place to anyone. The girl behind the counter was also very nice! I'm not sure of her name but she was helpful when I was looking to rent the bike for myself! I rented a bike for the half day time, and the package included the bike, a helmet, a lock, a basket (my bike had a basket), and a couple different maps of the area. All for $20!! I dropped in today and the owner who is very busy excepting deliveries directing traffic and opening his business for the day took time to come over to my car lubricate my bike gears and adjust brakes chains and get me back on my way for no charge. whenever I need a tuneup or a flat tire fixed this is where I go Been coming here for several years great place You can also rent bikes and get gear inside read more

Jimmy and his guys were an absolute delight to rent from. He set us up with two great cruising rentals to hit the hotspots around Chatham with awesome maps and suggestions. He offered delivery and pickup but since we walked there we just needed pickup. He effortlessly grabbed the bikes without needing to bother a single person so you don't need to feel obligated to be tied down while you wait for pick up. My nephews old 1995 Haro BMX bike. After 20 years in a basement.... it was very rusty and squeaky and not feeling very safe. Jimmy replaced what was needed then oiled and cleaned the things that didn't. And it only is it running sturdy and smooth....somehow it just "feels cooler"....Thanks Jimmy!! My wife and I were Planning a bike ride through Chatham when her rear brake stopped working. We called Chatham Hood, and were told by the man working there that he was just about to leave, but that he would stay there until we could arrive. When we got there, he fixed the brake in about one minute, showed us how to fix it in the future if a similar problem occurred,And did not charge us at all even though we offered to pay. Jimmy is the best! We drove all the way to Chatham to ride the rail trail only to discover one of our bikes brakes had been jostled out of alignment. Jimmy saved the day! He fixed the brake pad, did a little tune up and we were on our way. Definitely stop by if you have any trouble on the trail. read more

We were looking for a bike for our daughter during this surreal pandemic and Jimmy went to his shop ( and even offered delivery) and pulled out an amazing selection and fully equipped us with helmet, basket and the special requested hamburger bell! Perhaps I walked in at a bad time, but the gentleman working could not have been more rude and aggressive. I understand they were "understaffed" and when I suggested we go for a walk and come back, he replied (yelled) "yea, go for a walk". I was so taken aback, I apologized (for wanting to rent four bikes?), he said "you should apologize" (yelled) and continued with "go for a walk". From the day we got there to the day we returned, there couldn't have been ruder service even though we had spent quite a bit of money giving them our business. One of the bikes also malfunctioned and they would not give us a price break. I was speaking with the woman working in a pleasant manner when a bald man with a long beard interrupted & started yelling at us for no reason. He presumed to tell us "fuck you" & flip us off until we left the store. This man works at the store, and may possibly be the owner. Very low key shop. Staff were friendly and helpful. Bike rentals are $20 for 2 hours $30 for 4 hours. Comes free with helmet basket and lock. A quick 15 minute bike ride to the beaches. I would definitely rent again. read more
