We love seeing shows at the orpheum theater! It's small quaint and every once in a while, you get lucky to see an original being shown.

Getting in was made more difficult because the guy checking tickets said we needed them printed out instead of on our phones. He told us it was this instruction was in the 2nd line of the email, but it was NOT. Everyone else behind us made the same mistake, making it crowded and chaotic in the lobby. I will always have a soft spot in my heart for nonprofit independent movie theaters, and the Orpheum is no different. Saw many excellent films here, some not so good, but despite it all I always had a good experience with the theater and owners and they truly care about their moviegoers' experiences. read more

What a great little theater! We discovered this on a rainy Monday. Cafe and bar in the lobby and you can take your food and drink into the theater with you. And first run films! Seats are very very comfortable. Wide aisles with plenty of leg room. Sound in the theater is top notch. Really a gem in Chatham. read more

So I'm surprised to hear that this place has been open since the summer and there is only one review of it so far. What a nice addition to the downtown Chatham area. For those that have been up here know. Lots of great shops and outdoorsy things to do while your up at the Cape. What happens when it's not beach season? Well if your staying in Orleans, Harwich, or Chatham (obviously) you don't have much of an option for indoor entertainment. Cue The Orpheum Theatre. Recently opened it provides a nice alternative to driving to Dennis or Hyannis and its a lot closer than going to the movies in Wellfleet. When you walk inside they have a great mural on the wall along with a small café style seating area where you can enjoy a coffee or a more adult beverage. There is still the usual fare of sodas, popcorn, and candy. They also have local gourmet chocolates if the Swedish Fish aren't calling your name. Now they only have two screens and the seating is limited but I feel like that is part of the charm. They seats are pretty comfortable and recline. There is also plenty of foot room for the 6' tall and up folks. The only downside is the seating is not stadium style so there is a possibility of not having a great view is your on the short side. Other than that I love the idea of being able to do dinner and a movie in a town that seems tailor fit for that activity. I hope everyone is able to enjoy the movies here as much as I did. read more

This small town theatre is truly an experience for anyone my age and younger, Yeah I'm talking to my fellow millennials! It is small with only 2 theaters but packs in all the necessary perks for a pleasant date night. The snack bar doubles as the box office and the bar serves drinks for you to enjoy during the show. They have a small picture of the movie poster posted up next to the door of each theatre so you can tell where each movie is playing. Unlike most updated modern movie theaters you will have to interact with a person to purchase your seats and have to find a seat once you enter the showing room. I know, I know, my fellow youngsters want to pick their seat at a kiosk and have robots run the bar, but this place will transport you back to a simpler time & fill you with nostalgia in places you usually fill with alcohol...... although there is room for both! The seating is all one level so choose wisely! The popcorn was so yummy and fresh, make sure you enjoy some! The entire place is tidy and the bathrooms were very clean. read more

This is a remarkable remake of a lost theater in downtown Chatham. This place has thrived since it reopened years ago. As a bonus there is a full service bar and restaurant inside the theater, the Orpheum Cafe. While it has limited seating, it is well worth the effort for lunch or for dinner; it is delicious and the menu is surprisingly varied. read more

Such a great theater experience! From the outside, I was intrigued just with having a small theater right in the middle of main street. The building had a nice architecture and blended with the overall quaint looking downtown Chatham. Walking inside, there's a beautiful mural of all my favorite characters and actors (I love movies) which made the whole place much more interesting for me. There is a full bar and extensive menu which is ideal for a perfect date or the sophisticated movie-goer. The whole place was squeaky clean, no sticky floors. Overall with prosecco served in a stemless wine glass in my hands, and an all beef hotdog with relish in a pretzel bun...had a perfect movie experience! No stars for the movies they show, which are usually either mass market dither, or available on Netflix or Amazon. For example "The Book Club", wonderful only for the silver haired ladies of town, and "Jiro Loves Sushi", which has been available on TV for at least a year. The movie selections seem to run forever, possibly until the Orpheum saves enough money to change shows, or management gathers the requisite energy to book a new feature. There are so many hard to find foreign and independent movies out there; maybe someday the organizers will expend the energy to allow some of them a chance. P.S. One of my stars is for the spiffiness of the theaters, the other for the excellent cafe in the lobby. read more

A cozy, cute small town movie theatre! Came here to checkout a movie and was pleasantly surprised at how top-notch this place was. There are two movie theatres inside, a small one and a main one... granted it's not your monster AMC or Regal, but the theatre oozes small town charm. The service/staff were on point and friendly, and the theatres were clean. Also, the actual screen and video quality were great as well. It's a little expensive, but what isn't on Cape Cod? The entire visit couldn't have been better. We thought we were just going into a little town theater for a movie, but didn't realize what a cool spot we found. It has recently been updated and has a great bar/cafe within the lobby. Bartender was welcoming and we were able to order food and beverages to take into movie! We sat in 2nd cinema and it was small, but picture/sound was clear. There is a main cinema that offers triple the seating for closer to 150. read more

Small new theatre in chatham with decent snacks and a food place right below it. Front desk staff is not very helpful. They all were texting on their phones and only charged us for one adult instead of two. We had to correct them and indicate there was two of us standing in front of her. The interior is new and looks great. The real bad part about this place is the seating. It is on a flat surface. If you sit in the back and anyone in the whole theatre in front if you is taller you are not able to see parts of the screen. The only way I would suggest it is if you are not able to make it to the Hyannis mall and you really need to find something to do. read more

The issue Is getting accurate showtimes on line. 3 times we have planned to go to see a movie, checked the times and then find out there is a "last minute" change . The most recent was yesterday. We checked showtimes for Parasite. The web site and the building marquee said 11:30AM. Now they have changed the time to 1pm, plus 2 other showings. Apparently they decide show times at random. read more

Went here during off-season (Nov) for both dinner and a movie. It is a cool little theater that looks completely redone including an awesome mural with lots of movie characters from all genres and decades. The place was packed. The food is PUB style and very good. They have seating in the cafe or you can take your meal and drinks in the theater. The two theaters are small, but very comfortable and very clean with good sound systems and good acoustics. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next night for a different movie. All things considered, we thought the prices were reasonable. Enjoy! read more

It's a very cool place. There is an amazing mural right when you walk in and it sets a tone for the movie. The only complaints are the extremely pricey snacks (esp. Popcorn) and the 3D glasses that didn't work very well. read more
