Had a wonderful lunch at this splendid little restaurant. Really great to step back in time in a soda shop. It is Cash only so be prepared, credit cards not accepted. Three ladies were running the store. A lot of old time items I remember from my younger days. My wife had the chili slaw dawg and potato cakes, it was sloppy as ever as it should be. No plates at this restaurant. She said it was very yummy and was delicious. I had a double cheese burger with fries. Burgers were juicy as they should be and fries were great. I had a chocolate ice cream soda, have not had a soda like that in years. Reminded me of ice cream sodas I had growing up in the Bronx. My wife had a chocolate shake and made her smile big time. Worth the stop you will not be sorry when you stop here. Definitely has that Olde Time Vibe when you walk into this place. read more

One of the best hot dog and hamburger joints around. Run and operated by the husband/wife owners, they serve great chili dogs and burgers. Other things are on the menu, but I've not tried them, can't get past the hotdogs. A walk back in time, this is an old fashion local restaurant complete with an old wood stove and many interesting pictures and old items you could buy 60+ years ago! You are treated like family when you arrive and the food is always served promptly and hot. By the way, did I not say their milkshakes are the best in North Georgia? Hand made with real ice cream. This review will be short because well, there just isn't much to say. SMITH'S SODA SHOP in Cleveland GA had been on my radar to try for a few years now and I finally had the chance to take a ride and check them out. This is your classic diner type of experience with stand alone chairs facing the cooks over the counter and a few booths, very small inside. They are huge COCA-COLA fans and have a bunch of memorabilia on their walls, pretty cool. Their double cheeseburger was small in size but juicy, but lacked anything that would make it special. Their fries are OK and have a steak cut to them which means they have to be well cooked or they'll be soggy and my preference is crispy and well done, which this was not. The young lady that took my order was either having a bad day or just didn't like bikers because friendly customer service was just not there. She took my order, said nothing then brought my meal and said nothing... that was the extent of her customer service. There was an older gentlemen and lady in there as well helping other guests and they seemed very friendly and pleasant though. When I was done eating I was quite embarrassed because they do not accept cards which I did not realize before sitting down, ordering and eating my meal. They kindly allowed me to leave their establishment to get some cash (INGLES around the corner) and come back to pay my fair share of their meal. The meal was very small but so was the cost so you have to take that into account. The views on the way there can be spectacular if you avoid the main roads and just take a few back roads. If you're in the area and give them a try let me know what you're experience is like and what type of service you get! I'd be curious to know but make sure you bring cash!! Finally caught them open when I could stop in. Love the original decor, brings back memories of days gone by. Had a double cheeseburger and fries to go. Nice little local burger and hot dog shop. Don't expect excellent service or credit card payment (bring cash) but expect decent food. The slaw dog & slaw burger are good and the cherry soda is top notch (not a pre-made product). Interesting enough this joint does not serve on plates of any kind but on wax paper. All in all this place is a little spot to catch up on the town gossip, eat some food and remember small town USA. Whale of a weenie! Old soda shop/ drugstore lunch counter feel to the place. Frank had a decent pop to it but I doubt it had ever met a rabbi. Chili had never been to Texas. But chili dogs here were just like I like em. They were small, not tiny , but I easily ate two and considered ordering that third one but thought better of it. It was a clean eat. Chili rode the bun well and the onions didn't scatter too badly. It was the kind of chili dog you could eat with one hand in three bites while riding a bicycle. Bun was fresh and held it all together. Chili was like your momma made it, can of tomatoes, can of Bushes chili beans, pack of chili o mix and about twice the hamburger the recipe called for. It's better tasting come Thursday than it is Monday. Folks here are happy. On both sides of the counter. The place is spic n span clean. Prices are reasonable and the serve Coca Cola products. I've had hot dogs all across America, I've been to 38 states, and Smith's has the best bar none! Make sure to get a shake and to bring cash! Also, do t expect to get pickles or lettuce or tomatoes! They have mustard, ketchup, onions, slaw, chili, and cheese and that's all as far as condiments are concerned! Cute little soda shop with a limited menu of hamburger, hot dog, grilled cheese, onion rings, french fries, etc. We had ice cream sodas (mixture of ice cream, carbonated water, and flavoring), and they were great! It's like a root beer float kinda, but with a cleaner taste. I would go back and have one every day! This is a very small establishment with a few booths and some counter seats.
