Came here on a Sunday with a bunch of friends. There were 14 of us and they accommodated us on the patio. The server was very accommodating but she was very busy. I think she was taking care of all the tables on the patio. So she did the best she could. I don't blame her. She was hustling. Happy Hour is all day Sunday. Which is cool. I got the happy hour wings and veggies and a small salad. Not bad both tasted good, it was a decent amount of food. Everyone got something different and all seemed to enjoy their food. They have a french onion dip with their house made chips. Not bad. Typical sports bar with TV's. Nice bar in the middle of the room, it kind of wraps around. Parking is in front and back. Prices are average. I think they might need some additional help. But that is a universal issue. Overall not bad. Just a corner bar with ok food and drink specials. Chatty's is the newest establishment in this bldg. The new menu is eclectic and very interesting. I had the Schnitzel and it was unbelievably crisp and delicious. The mushroom gravy was so savory I didn't need a ton of it. The Spatzels taste like mom's homemade. The rain forced everyone (and the band) indoors so it was a little crowded. Calamari was the under cooked. Chicken wings were dried out/over cooked. Service was great. Ambiance good.

The food was hit or miss. The grape walnut salad was good, but the cod dinner and chicken egg rolls were just okay. The onion rings, however, were very good. Our server was friendly, but the service was sporadic. It seemed like she had tables inside as well as on the patio, which slowed things down. The worst part of the evening was the occasional foul smell outside (which we guessed was the septic system?). For that reason, it might be a better experience inside the restaurant. read more

Shatty's would be more appropriate. VERY disappointed. We had a bday party of 14 w/ 7 kids & got sat in the sun & when asked if we could move to shade since patio was dead we got MAJOR attitude! Then the service just degraded quickly from there. We asked 3 questions in a row the server didn't know so she said "do I need to start writing these down?" Easy stuff like is the fish fresh? We ordered a specialty pizza since Sundays are a pizza special day but they didn't have em. Couple other things we ordered that were online that they no longer had on menu. Then she put in 2 orders ahead of the rest of the group b/c they were app's that they wanted as their meal... so they came out 10+ mins ahead of the other 12 meals. Server was pouring lemonade above our dish & was spilling right on the salmon dinner! No Sorry from her. The meatloaf was not great, 2 bites & brother sent it away. Pizzas way over cooked, crusts were burnt. Kids cheese pizza had a hair baked into the cheese & server remade it but only 3/4 of it b/c my niece had eaten 2 pieces already!! I know right? Got a sorry for that one at least. 2 of our chili's were to come w/ sour cream & a salad also didn't get their side of ranch.. no biggie so we didn't bother her since it took so long to get extra napkins & straws & refills. THEN THE BILL COMES... $2.75 for 3 extra sides of ranch, a BBQ, & a mayo. Total money grab. Pathetic! So if you wondered - yes the prices were over board. 7 kids & 7 adults w/ no desserts & 4 soft drinks.... $319 (375 after tip) CRAZY! For example a burger w/ chips was $16-17. 8 Mushroom Raviolis was reportedly gross, only half eaten & was $21 w/ no side!! Tried Chatty's Tavern on Oct 1st for dinner. I've been here many times over the years under other ownership. Always liked this place to see bands. No band's scheduled the night we stopped, nor am I sure if any have played here under the new ownership. The inside looked a little different than previously but it's basically the same layout. There were about 5 other tables there when we visited. I ordered the perch dinner and my guest ordered a burger. Both were good, big portions, pricey but honestly what isn't anymore...I'd stop here again for a meal if I were in the area. Hopefully they will have bands in the future as they have a great outdoor stage. And hopefully the neighbors don't shut them down when they do like they have in the past. read more

This is my second time coming and my family and I went for an appetizer and drinks. We sat outside and it was not packed. The drinks were good and the loaded tots were yummy. Only reason for the four star is to honestly remind people to double check their receipt before paying. There were a couple drinks we ordered that our waitress said they were out of, however they still ended up on the receipt. Other than that we likely will be back as this is a halfway point for myself and family. read more

The food was incredible! My guests absolutely loved the stroganoff and schnitzel offered. Good service too, server was incredibly prompt and on top of anything we needed. Wanted to find somewhere to stop and have a quick dinner on our way to a concert at LCCC. Decided to try Chatty's Tavern. Didn't expect much, and having been at that place when it was the Jailhouse Tavern, I knew it was small and very very casual. When we arrived, it was almost full, but we were quickly shown to our table, and our waitress came to take our drink orders within a couple minutes. So far...so good! Drinks arrived promptly and the waitress was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. My BFF ordered a chicken pot pie, hubby a burger, and I ordered the calamari and scallop with Thai chili sauce appetizer and the small walnut, grapes, and greens salad. Frankly, none of us were expecting much in the way of taste, but my salad came quickly and it was absolutely delicious! The greens were varied and fresh, it was loaded with cut in half juicy red grapes, and chopped walnuts. And the vinaigrette with blue cheese dressing was delightful! Things were definitely looking up. When she delivered the pot pie, burger, and my calamari/scallop selection, all three of us were amazed at how delicious everything was! The burger was huge, thick, grilled perfectly, and juicy without being greasy. My 's pot pie was, as she said, "the best chicken pot pie she'd ever eaten." The homemade crust was thin, flaky and perfectly baked. And the pot pie was loaded with chicken chunks and fresh veggies in a very tasty broth...rather than the usual gloppy/creamy sauce you usually get. Lastly, my calamari/scallop appetizer (as my entreé) was very good indeed. Highly recommend, and we"ll return soon. read more

I wanted so bad to give 5 stars. Very Enjoyable outside seating, pleasant & attentive service by Alexis(?),and yummy fresh oyster app start. We ordered 3 main courses: 2 were very generous- meaty, creamy beef stroganoff on fresh egg noodles, & juicy buffalo chicken sandwich. But... Walleye tacos soooo disappointing. 3 soft tacos filled with cabbage slaw to brim. A single 1" cube (no exaggeration, 1 piece was even smaller than 1") of fish on each taco, does not make it a Walleye taco, but a cabbage taco with Walleye garnish. Try as I did, to "spread" the fish, the best I got was 1 good bite of each, taco. Obviously all 3 pieces should have been on a single taco. Did they run out of fish & try to pass it off because tacos were already filled? Or do they truly serve them with a single tiny piece, centered on top like cherry on a Sundae for $18? We were happy enough with experience to try again when in the area, and would recommend, but avoid the Fish tacos by All Means. read more

I'm excited that Chatty's has opened up a new spot and we were eager to give it a try. Our first visit was just OK, but since they are new, I'm sure we'll give them at least one more try. The good: Reuben sandwich was very tasty and also reasonably priced. The OK: Burger was just OK. Not bad, not great -- nothing special. Also OK: All sandwiches come with housemade chips. Ours seemed overcooked and not that great tasting. One of our party of 3 had mostly crumbs in his basket. Perhaps a dip along with the chips would be nice. Or even some fries as an alternative, maybe? The not-so-good: Our appetizer never arrived, and when I told the young woman who brought our food to just cancel it, she said it was right there and she'd bring it right out, but that our food was sitting so long she didn't want it to sit any longer. (!) We told her we didn't want to eat an appetizer along with our meal, and we'd like to cancel it. Our server came over to make sure we knew that this was NOT her fault. (??) The place looks nice and inviting, but is extremely loud -- hard-to-have-conversations kind of loud. The patio looks great but wasn't open, as rain was threatened all day. Not super busy on a Monday. We've waited almost two hours for our food. When we arrived, hostess sat us right away. We waited a good 20 minutes before our drink order was taken. The hostess apologized to us. We asked for a manager, then presto our sever came around. Tables seated after us were served ahead of us. Food was good. Service not so much. We were advised their WiFi was down, and that was stressing the staff out, but that's what pen and paper are for. Not sure if we'll be back. read more

Walleye taco are tasty. Sweet meat pizza is very yummy but you have to get there early as they only have 20 regular crusts per day & they sell out quick. Wings are meaty & delicious. They finally have the web page up which shows the menu. read more

Just too much salt on Fries and Burger, there is salt on the tables, so why over salt the food? I was able to eat the burger but did not enjoy it, and I ate 2 fries and gave up. If I return, I will make a point of asking for no salt. read more
