Wanted to do a quick getaway from Atlanta and chose tranquille resort. We decided to come and stay…read morefor two week nights as the prices were cheaper and with the wifi, we could work as well. It's only about a 2hr drive from where I am but there was a bit of traffic getting out of atlanta on a wed afternoon when we left so we didn't get in till dark. I called to say we might miss the office check in hours (till 6pm) so they kindly left the key in the cabin for us for whenever we arrived which was very helpful. The rooms were clean and kitchen and bathroom had pretty much everything you needed. We also utilized the charcoal grill. Only complaint was the lighting was a tad dark during the night but maybe it's to help you relax. Loved the view of the lake from the cabin, it was beautiful to wake up to. We were also able to bring our dog for a $60 fee. House rule does say no dog on bed so keep that in mind. There was a little doggy station on site and we were able to walk him around the property to potty. He enjoyed his stay and we liked going to the nearby trials in the morning/afternoon for a hike. There's an ingles nearby as well as some other restaurants if you need food options like McDonald's, Dunkin, couple of Pizza chains, and whatever a small town typically has to offer. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Review Fall Ambiance: Check,…read more Exceptional Lodging: Check, Overall Satisfaction: Priceless The two Lakeside cabins we rented were perfectly appointed, leaving nothing to be desired. All needed kitchen utensils, appliances and housewares are available. A dishwasher and full-size washer and dryer round out everything needed for a longer stay. Did I mention the view? Start or finish the day on the back porch gazing at the mountains and Lake Chatuge. We are planning to be back during the summer to take advantage of the boat docks, on-site canoe rental, kids playhouse and a cool swim in the lake. Did I mention the staff? Everyone( Greg the owner, Jennifer the manager, Vicki and another young lady) made sure that our stay was comfortable

We had a great weekend trip to The Ridges Resort. This was our first stay and are aware that the…read moreresort has undergone some recent renovations. The rooms were a decent size, with comfortable beds and bedding. the bathrooms were nice and clean as well. We enjoyed the first floor lake room and enjoyed access to the property from our room. While the lake was quite a way from the property, it was better than looking out over the parking lot I suppose. S'mores at night were a great treat. We rented a pontoon boat from the marina and had a great time. We were charged twice on the gasoline, but called the next day and they removed a charge. The grounds were in good shape, pool was nice and looks like furniture was upgraded from older posts. We had brunch at The Oaks. It was OK. Two of us had issues with our food. We were credited $4.50 which was an insult, as a portion of our meal was inedible. We discovered some great and reasonably priced area restaurants, so probably would not revisit The Oaks. We would consider returning for another weekend stay and hopeful the resort continues making improvements to the property to match the rates they charge.

I put a pill on the bedside and in the morning when I woke up and grabbed it it turned to powder from being wet. I tried calling the front desk for an hour and got no answer and went down to see if I could speak to someone. No one was there. We did end up finally changing rooms . The carpets in this place are disgusting. They are blasting air freshener on timers through the ventilation that disguises odor, but chokes me so much that I can't sit in the lovely, but very dated lobby. We switched rooms, but the second morning I woke up with ants all over the nightstand. There was no food there, but we found a piece of stuck candy under the bed. I guess they no longer provide shower caps and soap, dishes, and more than one garbage bin per room. The slider door was in disrepair. The second room also had more moisture than it ought to. This place is very dated and like putting lipstick on a pig. We were looking forward to leaving. We went to the restaurant and a hamburger is $35. I will say it tasted very good. And the grounds were lovely. The staff seems to be doing their best with very little. We only saw one ground guy, and the receptionist and 2 room cleaning staff during our 1 week stay. They are trying their best with very little.

We had the very best experience here with our friends! Highly recommend. PS) Very surprised about "Rita O's" review. She has only reviewed four establishments, and she has slammed all four with one star ratings and angry reviews. Wow, how sad.

The front desk employee Michael was also very helpful and friendly. The pool was nice and I found the room to be average, with everything In working order. The beds were a little hard and oddly the pillows were not uniform sizes. The bathroom door was very hard to open and close. A child could easily get stuck. We went to Brassie's for dinner and the server was very sweet and friendly but they were obviously shorthanded and the service was slow. We also ordered take out and the wings were a little freezer burnt. We did take out from the dining room as well, only ordering 3 side salads as they were out at Brassie's. The order was wrong (the initial bill was for 3 large salads (almost $40). It was finally resolved 25 minutes later, after a heated discussion between employees regarding changing the TV channel and an impolite exchange between the two hosts about who would seat a couple. The ice machine on the second floor did not work and the bartender at the dining room was rude. The view from the back porch was amazing, like something from a movie. The grounds were pretty and well maintained. The lobby is very nice as is the gift/pro shop. I did let them know at the front desk about the issues and they made a significant adjustment to my bill. Overall, we had a nice time and it is my understanding that this was their first weekend opening post Covid, so that might explain some of the issues. I did see another review that mentioned some of the staff making them feel unwelcome. This seems to mostly be an issue in the dining room. I got the same feeling and it was disappointing to find this in such a nice place. Overall, they seem to need to make some changes in staff and focus on details like adequate Brassie's staffing, less hold time when calling, verifying that things like the ice machine work, having food delivery to guest rooms from the restaurants, after hours food availability of some sort and fresh not frozen food in the restaurants. Please dont misunderstand though, the place is beautiful and some of the employees really worked to make our visit nice. Overall I would recommend. We travel very often and will return as this place does many things right. Hoping management will act on some of the feedback that I have spent time sharing here. The difference between an amazing stay and a mediocre one lies in attention to detail and how comfortable and welcoming staff are. With a few minor changes, this resort could be amazing.

My only recommendation would be to put safety grab bars in the shower. The people with the most expendable income for travel are seniors, and keeping the shower safe benefits everyone. Was very happy with our stay and would definitely rebook. Highly recommended! The buffet breakfast is mostly carbs but I don't expect more from anyplace that offers free breakfast. Not a dealbreaker. You will be very pleased with your stay.

To my complete disappointment, "Resort View" means looking over their parking lot or the neighboring apartments and parking (my view). There are no mountain views or lake views from this option. Very misleading!! When confronting the desk clerk, she commented that I had Mountain views from my room. Obviously she had no idea what she was talking about - but it was absolutely NOT a mountain view, and you definitely didn't want to "sit on the balcony to sip a glass of wine" as the resort suggests! There were only cobwebs and dirty chairs! The only good thing about the resort was the Oaks Restaurant, and Adirondack chairs to sit by the lake. Otherwise, I wouldn't waste my money. I won't be back.
