My experience with Cheap Auto Trans was extremely disappointing and stressful, and I would not recommend their services. The process began with a quote that was a major factor in my decision to book with the company. However, my vehicle was not picked up within the timeframe I was given, causing inconvenience and uncertainty. Communication regarding the delay was poor, and I was left with little information about when my vehicle would actually be transported. We paid the required deposit and understood that the remaining balance would be due upon delivery of the vehicle. After the vehicle was picked up, however, the transport driver, Vittal, began calling and requesting additional money before delivery. Because these demands were inconsistent with the payment arrangement we had agreed to, we initially refused to pay. The situation then became even more concerning. The driver made statements indicating that our vehicle could be abandoned somewhere along the route if we did not agree to pay the additional amount he was demanding. As customers who had already entrusted our vehicle to the carrier, we found these statements extremely alarming. When we contacted our leasing agent, Tanya Haden, regarding the driver's demands, she stated that the transportation price had increased because the originally assigned driver had been replaced. However, this alleged price increase had never been communicated to us before our vehicle was picked up. When we asked why we had not been informed of the higher cost prior to transportation, we did not receive a satisfactory explanation. Only after these events occurred were we sent a change order reflecting a price increase of more than $700 above the original quoted amount. In our view, any such substantial increase should have been disclosed and approved by the customer before the vehicle was loaded and transported, not afterward. Ultimately, fearing for the safe delivery of our vehicle, we paid the additional amount that was being demanded. Despite this, the vehicle was not delivered to our door as expected. Instead, it was left in a parking lot approximately 34 miles from our destination, and we were required to arrange transportation and retrieve it ourselves. The entire experience was marked by delayed pickup, poor communication, a substantial post-booking price increase, unexpected payment demands, and a final delivery that did not match our expectations. What should have been a straightforward vehicle transport became an unnecessarily stressful and frustrating ordeal. Based on our experience, we would not recommend Cheap Auto Trans. read more

You have to understand the transport "scheme" to get actual, real quotes. Many transport companies (apparantly looking at these reviews, this one too) does the 'bait and switch' tactic. Because the real cost is more than most of us want to spend, folks tend to try the lowball quotes, but turns out to be the same or higher than other quotes in the end. Point is-- there are few "deals" out there. This company did quote me cheaper at first. But after getting hip to the game, I mentioned upfront I didn't want to be bs'd. My point of origin was off the beaten path, and realized drivers have to go well out of the way to get there. It just isn't economically viable. The quotes make no sense with gas prices and other expenses for them. To speed this story up-- this company ended up doing the job for about 1K less than other realistic quotes. No surprises, 5th wheel made the 1700 mile journey in 3 days, arrived undamaged. As a customer, just be aware there aren't many deals in transportation. In the end, they'll be pretty similar. I'm pleased with the service and the dispatchers are good people. I dealt mainly with Joe Miller. The driver did a good job as well. read more

I was very nervous about using a broker to find someone to tow our 42 ft 5th wheel as there were so many that were calling/competing after I asked for a quote online. There were some that clearly were scams but the rest were kind of hard to tell. I wasn't sure about Cheap Auto Trans, but they definitely had less red flags and I decided to trust the reviews. I worked with Joe Miller, who I could tell worked extremely hard for us and wanted us to have a good experience and pay as little as possible. One word of advice, though, is even though they quote you fair market price, that does NOT mean that they will find a driver willing to accept that amount. We were originally quoted at $1100 but the driver wanted $2800. Joe was able to talk him down to $2200, which we felt was still a fair price. $1100 seems like it would barely cover the cost of the fuel it would take to tow something that big from Texas to Michigan. Israel was our driver, who also did a great job and got our RV delivered exactly when he said he would. This company quoted me $650 to transport my vehicle. They require a deposit of $200 through Venmo to get the process started. They took my $200 and called me five days later and told me the costs to ship my vehicle now is going to be $1475. I asked them politely to please cancel my order and refund my deposit and they hung up the phone on me. I should have known better when their quote came back much less than all of the others. I tried to contact Venmo to dispute the charge and they told me the charge could not be reversed. Do not do business with this company. They purposely low ball you a transport amount to get your deposit knowing that you won't be able to get your money back. Stay away from this company. Don't make the same mistake I did!! read more
