Very unhappy with my recent experience with this Company. I called and requested an estimate and was told that I had to wait 2 weeks for an estimate, which I was fine with. On the day of the scheduled estimate, I called in the morning and was told that I would receive a phone call when the person was on their way to do the estimate. No one ever showed up. I called the following day and was told they were not sure what happened, but they would call me back, I waited 2 days and just called back, to be told they have no plans on ever coming. We used CCT service to remove several trees in our backyard that had those pesty berries. They easily outbid their competitors. When the day to do the job came six men arrived and went about their business. Quite a professional crew. They cleaned up the yard of all debris and also ground stumps. Great teamwork. read more

First time using them, called two weeks ago for a quote, guy came by within 72 hours for a quote. A week later they came back and cut/trim the tree in front of the house. Shoppers beware ! Deceiving and tricky estimates. Take a picture of the tree to be done or cut backs. Figures, why this guy Jimmy says he doesn't take pictures. Other tree service, would snap a pic, from their camera( I'd say use your own camera)and show you exactly, what is going to be done.I got tricked by this estimator, Jimmy today ( yup, the guy you hear a lot from the bad reviews). Wished, I read the reviews first, tdd before I got this guys. Stay away from this company !!! Better yet read the reviews. Y'all can thank me later. Good price. They removed a tree that was tangled in overhead wires for $700. Other companies quoted us at $800+. They worked quickly and were easy to deal with. There were a few leftover branches and parts of the tree in the wires which I feel could have been removed but were left behind. It's nothing major though. They were professional, courteous and on time. A large crew showed up as promised at 7:45am with all the necessary equipment and trucks. It was a big job and they executed incredibly well. There were at least 12 trees that needed to be pruned and topped and they left the place spotless before they left. They stood by their very competitive quote. Currently doing work in my neighborhood, no regard to safety. As I was walking by the area a massive tree was being cut apart, a worker in a bucket truck cut off a limb giving no regard that someone may be walking by. When the large limb hit the asphalt road parts of the tree broke apart travelling thru the air and came at me. Whatever happened to safety first. read more

Hired cheap Charlie's via a recommendation from a Levittown Facebook group. No issues. They came for estimate. Was quick process. Reasonable pricing compared to other estimates we got. They showed up on their assigned day to do the work. They did an amazing job and quickly. Had 3 trees trimmed down via street side. Piles of branches and wood taken away. Another tree removed and a stump grinded down. Would recommend. Sad to see others had issues. Maybe cheap Charlie's learned from the reviews, because no issues with our job. read more

cheap charlies is not so cheap.they did complete the task, and were here on time. their work was good. in addition, they did clean up very well. however, rosa, in their business office has no empathy for senior citizens on fixed incomes. we had to pay via credit card.they included full tax plus an additional 3 per cent administration fee..while their crew supervisor gave us a fixed amount for the bill. this transaction happened on the same day i received my new property tax reassessment. with taxes doubling; i was just trying to pay their bill and still retain my house. really wish they had some compassion for us seniors. as we cannot create a new income stream. we needed the bit of help. but, it fell on deaf ears!!!!!!!!!! read more

Cheap Charlie's not good at any price! I had a signed contract to have a dying tree removed from my yard. I took off from work and waited until 3:30pm (for a 9 am appointment) for them to show up. The crew took one look and decided the estimate was not enough for the job, packed up and jumped into their vehicle. I asked them to call the boss to find out how much more they would require to do the job and I over heard the boss tell the crew to leave and go to the next job and he refused to speak to me! The work crew was disrespectful. The owner never apologized, the company is the one who decided on the original price...they were unprofessional and awful. RUN away from this tree service. read more

Got a quote to take down 3 trees and removal of some dead debris. Waited 2 weeks for the work to occur. In the meantime I had some unrelated work done during which the other company took down 2 of those trees in order to do their work. So when Cheap Charlie's came there was only 1 tree and debris for them to do. Less work so the cost should decrease, but not with them, they still charged me the original amount! So I basically got ripped off. Will definitely not use them again! Will not recommend them. Not an honest business. read more

I wish I could be as bad and unresponsive at my job as the ones that work in their office. This service is a complete waste of time. They canceled on me three times and would not return my calls. I was told numerous times that I would be contacted by Charlie who didn't have the balls to get on the phone with me. In the end, they canceled my third appointment without notifying me.... They just didn't show up. If you want a cheap tree service, keep looking. There are others out there that are cheap and will actually get the job done. I had two trees come down in a storm and one was in a bad position. I called several tree removal companies and Cheap Charlies was the first to send someone over for an estimate. The price was great and I ended up having seven trees removed (I had been planning on having them removed before the storm). The communication was great and the crew worked incredibly fast and safe and in a professional manner. I have used this company in the past about 12 years ago and dealt directly with the owner. I am sad to report that they are now a useless company that makes promises and does not keep them. I called two weeks ago to schedule an appointment, the woman on the phone told me they could come by two days later and it would be between 8:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Well needles to say they never showed up. I called a few times and left messages and no call back. I contacted them again this past Tuesday and the same woman said that was impossible since she returns all calls. I stated again they did not come by and she never returned my calls. She set up an appointment for the next day and stated she would give it to another person. Well guess what, no one came or called! I have left a message but guess what? No call back! All I can say is if you have to chase them to get an estimate what kind of service do you think they will perform? I CAN NOT recommend them and warn others to stay away. Where do I start? This place is the worst!!!!! I contacted them after Hurrican Isaias to remove a tree in my backyard. After multiple calls an estimator finally came out gave us a price, we agreed and moved forwarding with them. They said they are so busy so the earliest appointment is 10.22 (today) their crew came out at 7:45am and told me that they can't honor the price that the estimator gave. They wanted 150% more. My husband got so mad and told them to leave!!! this is so crazy and now we are back to square one. They showed up on time to give me an estimate, which was the lowest of all the other estimates I had received. I called to make an appointment and they gave me a day that wasn't convenient so they made the appointment when it was convenient for me. They did show up before 8 AM when I was told we were the 2nd stop and would be here around noon. I was upset about the time and one guy was a wise guy and said "well it's after 8 now." The other guys were great, did the job in record time, and cleaned up like they were never here. Where do I begin??? We had someone come to our house to give us an estimate to trim and prune a tree on our property. Of course they were the cheapest bid so after a few more estimates from other companies we decided to go with Cheap Charlies....little did we know that they are complete scam artists and possibly the worst run company on Long Island. 1st appointment....no call no show! "We are so sorry, that should not have happened" 2nd appointment....no call no show! "We are so sorry, we will talk to the crew to make sure this doesn't happen again" 3rd appointment....no call no show! "We are so sorry, the owner will be calling you shortly" Still waiting for the call Mr Charlie!???? Keep in mind this entire process has been 3 and 1/2 weeks now. Was getting portions of the tree that are over our property cut down. The other two surrounding houses were as well. They asked permission from my neighbor who's property the actual tree is on. She had given them permission for the other two people to cut down, but we were excluded. We had called and gotten an estimate just for our portion and was told they would do it the same day they are cutting down the other two neighbors portion. Per the town, we do not need her permission. It was just a courtesy. I waited around all day on my day off. The "foreman" came to the fence and I asked him if they we're going to cut my side down. I answered all his questions and he just walked away. In the middle of the conversation and provided me with no answers! Then I was told their truck was full and they'll be back.. they never came back!! Wasted my day off and lost out on a continuing paying customer. Super rude and honestly not professional at all. Called Cheap Charllie's for an estimate. Young man showed up and said he needs to send someone else for an estimate. Young man told me that it would cost about $500 - $600 which I thought was quite fair. After couple of days someone came by (without calling in advance) and since I wasn't home he left estimate in my mailbox. Second estimate stated that it would cost $1500!!! Almost 3 times more of what the first young man said!!! CHEAP CHARLIE'S IS NOT CHEAP!!! Oh, and by the way, they put completion date: 1/8/2018! Not sure why all the bad reviews. Must be their competitors flooding Yelp. Neighbor recommended I use them. They came in time for quote and gave a very reasonable estimate. Scheduled service for last Friday. They called in morning to cancel due to rain and thunderstorms. I was thinking "oh my" maybe the reviews were on spot. They rescheduled for the next Monday. Came at 9:30 and was fully complete with full clean up by 11:00!!! Highly suggest using them!!! read more

The woman in the office said they don't do specific appointment times rather they do the window of their hours of operation (9-4) which is not convenient for someone who works during the day and would like to be there to explain what work is needed. Cheap Charlie's crew came into my yard today and removed two storm damaged trees. They operate like some elite SWAT team. I couldn't believe how they got those trees down without damage to any of the fences or sheds in mine and my neighbors yards. And cleaned everything up completely. If I could give zero stars, I would. I called and spoke with a woman named Debbie, who couldn't have been more rude and unprofessional. She wanted to know how many trees I wanted cut down and how many trimmed. I explained that I have many trees on my property and wanted to meet with someone who could help me to determine what needed to be done. She refused to give me a day or time and said only that someone would call on the way over. I explained that I work from home and asked for a day and time frame to insure that I could be available. I also said that I was willing to wait and that this was not an emergency. The person named Debbie abruptly said any day between 9am and 4pm was all she was willing to commit to. Well, I called they said they would come by next day (morning 8-12) to give an estimate and try to get it done. Took off next day waited all day they never showed never called. This company was hired to cut down trees in a backyard of a house across the street and 3 house down..there were no cars parked in the street across from the house they were working for 4 house down but decided to park their truck 3 house down on the opposite side and drag the debris all over the road and lawns of several houses. Then another truck pulled up..again a few house down from the person who hired them, stopped the truck in the middle of the road and started throwing the debris in the middle of the road causing more of mess. The workers then started throwing the debris into the other truck leaving the block looking like a hurricane went thru. Tried speaking with a worker who was rude and dismissive and stating he can do what he wants bc I don't own the street. He is correct on not owning the street however out of the respect for the people on the block you would think they would keep the mess to a smaller area instead of involving 6 other houses. If you don't want your neighbors being rightfully upset by the mess this company creates DO NOT hire them!! Truck has a Best of Long Island sticker on it..they must have bought it off someone!! read more
