Found a few albums for under $10 and a few unique ones at prices in the $30 to $40 range. Depending on your taste well worth the money. Check out staff was personable. I did not see any floor staff wandering the aisles asking if you needed any help... but guess that is the part of the experience; seek out your own finds!

I wasted a lot of time and money scrounging antique stores for records only to be disappointed when I played them at home. Now I just go to Mill City where their great and friendly staff always steer me in the right direction. I bummed that my mom got rid of all my vinyl when I went into the military, but pumped that I discovered Mill City.

I was handed the cash and told to take the crate. I even said (as should be on their cameras!) I brought my items in boxes, are they sure I should take the crate? They insisted it would be fine for me to take... well.. found these messages in my filtered "unknown senders" today... lovely business guys. Thanks for the horrific insults because of your mistake... and thanks for the lovely curse. Please don't stalk and harass me at 1am because your mad your employee made a mistake. You had no reason to make the accusations and insults you did other than your own fears and insecurities as you're up late at night thinking and obsessing over me. This is not acceptable behavior on so many levels. I can't believe I have to say this to an adult. Every action has a consequence. Had I checked my filtered messages sooner perhaps we could have avoided this childish outburst and I wouldn't have known this side of you. Perhaps you have an amazing business but unfortunately I'll now have to warn people about you. It's not a good business or life practice to make assumptions about people, especially such negative ones, because your assessment could be incredibly incorrect. You don't know who a stranger is and who they might know, better to assume the best and always treat everyone with respect. As I had plenty of time to spare for Lunch with my brother (at the nearby 5-8 Club), I wandered over. Know Name Records struck me as a combination of a CD/Vinyl records store, a head shop, t-shirt seller, memorabilia collection, head shop, disk golf dealer, and rummage sale. The later was based on a couple sets of old speakers, a turntable, and other vintage items that were for sale. Plus from this person of 65's perspective, it didn't look like the 2 older guys tending the counter had escaped the 60s. :) I had a great time looking around. I wasn't much interested in the weed-related or vinyl merchandise, and I would never get those speakers on the plane. But, the CDs were interesting and I found a great Vikings/Prince "Purple Reign" (if only for that NFL team) jersey that I just had to take home (see picture). I'm sure to come back the next time I'm anywhere this side of the Crosstown Freeway. Plus I'd fully expect that there would be a whole new inventory to explore. Good prices too.

Personally, not my favorite but there's some good movie records at a decent rate. The interior is large so there's a ton to choose from, but personally it is more on the older side in terms of what they have in stock. Maybe not the best for someone who likes electronic music but definitely more so for a pop or rap type enjoyer. Prices are what you'd expect for a record store. Nothing that screams great value (except for the classical vinyls that everyone has) or the occasional CDs but none that stood out to me. Overall, they were friendly when checking out. 4 stars is appropriate for this place.

I have been able to find some pretty great titles in this spot; the selection is pretty vast especially for jazz and r&b music. Far as value goes, its a trend now that people are really buying vinyl again therefore they cost. I would say they are definitely a little more affordable than other record shops in the metro that I visited especially with newer titles. I will always come back to this shop; its an addiction lol.
