Paid off all loans, I thought. Person, could not see that I had a balance on "another screen". So, in 2 days, my auto pay will process for balance. They blame the system! Chrisropher, the lead or manager blamed the system and said the employees are not trained to look for the total balance. Will not be using check city ever again. Came here to cash a check which I rarely ever have to do. Noticed there was only one person in line and 2 people already being helped by the only 2 associates available. I still ended up waiting about 25 minutes til it was my turn. Turns out both customers were both getting loans which takes up a good chunk of time. There should always be one associate available to help customers with simple transactions like cashing a check. I was tempted to go elsewhere but thats just a waste of more gas and time. So since I barely ever cash checks I had to fill out a Check Cashing Application which includes all the basic info: Name , address, social security number, work info, and 2 references. Seems like a little much just to cash a check so for those of yall who are new to Check City. Keep that in mind. They require current info every 6 months. Besides check cashing and loans.... You could also pay certain bills and purchase a bus pass. Overall. Both ladies were very nice. Place was really clean. read more

This review will be quick and to the point. The Sunset Road at Athenian Drive Check City is a convenient place for me to purchase money orders when I bank nearby. In addition to the convenience, I appreciate that the money orders are free. Knock on wood I have not been in a situation where I had to take out an emergency loan from them. It is difficult for me to be a fan of a business where I am emptying my wallet to purchase money orders to pay my bills. Putting my feelings aside, Check City is doing the right thing not charging for money orders. This gives people a break, and makes it a go-to place for money orders. I will most likely be back to buy money orders to pay more bills when I bank nearby. read more

Check City (especially this location) has always been my go tonopace when I need a money order. It's always clean and the employees are friendly. I hadn't been in a while u til today where I was greeted by a smiling employee, Veronica. She was all smiles the whole time and kind as can be. Unfortunately now adays people just don't seem to always care anymore like they used to. That's not the case here. Veronica truly cared about the customers that came in and had pleasant chit chat while she was doing my money order. It's nice to see smiling and happy employees, such a breath of fresh air. This is one of my favorite Check Cities. I take the the extra 4-5 mile drive, than the one closer to me on Boulder/Russell. Reason number one is there is never a long line and they are very friendly, fast, and professional. I was also offered a Netspend card upon cashing my check. I had it activated the same day with no activation fee. Not to mention that the loading fee is less here for my Netspend card. I also appreciate the fact that the money orders are free! I have cashed my check here twice now, despite the fee being $2 for every $100. It is still very fast and convenient! Compared to banks and I get my money on the spot. The worst customer service. You would think it's a considered upscale side of town, but that is not the case. Even a simple acknowledgment would go a long way instead the employees stare and make you feel uncomfortable. Went to this location to file my taxes and receive a refund advance loan. I was told the loan was based off the IRS accepting the loan, and if in fact you get a refund back. Never once was I told credit played a factor in receiving the loan, Very Misleading and dishonest just to get you to file your taxes there.
