If I could I would give it 3.5. Attention Yelp! Why can we not give half stars. I think it is obvious that they are needed. Anyhow, this place has great atmosphere and the pricing on the food is the best in class. They have an extensive menu with a lot of different selections that you simply cannot get anywere else in the area. The food, although a great value when you consider portion size, quality, taste and appearance when judged on price, is not gourmet food. It tastes good but nowhere near great. I would give the food 3.5 stars out of 5. But you will get an amount of food that will leave you absolutely stuffed even if you have the largest of appetites, or you will have plenty to take home to turn into another meal or at least a large snack if you have a moderate appetite. The bar area is pretty cool and the center of the restaurant is very nice with some fan cantraptions I have never seen elsewhere along with a large, colorful fish tank that is cool to look at. And like I said in a previos "tip", do not let the appearance of the parking lots fullness discourage you from going there. I have gotten seated very quickly (sometimes with no wait at all) even when the parking lot was mostly full. They can accomodate very large numbers of people and you will not wait nearly as long as you would with even half of the people at a red lobster or olive garden. read more

It's nicely decorate, the drinks are big a cheap in price. We didn't have a long wait to get seated, but it took our food doubled the time.

Absolutely worst service in my life.. took over 30 minutes just to get our drinks. I ordered a appetizer of nachos and they took over 2 hours just to bring it not to mention they didn't even bring our food together. When I received my nachos they were cold and rock hard and come to find out they had been sitting there for 40 minutes. When we send the food back and asked them to bring the food back all hot and together they still didn't didn't a second time. Basically we spent over 3 hours at this restaurant and then come to find out they really thought we were going to pay for that terrible service and terrible food. I love cheddar's but only have experienced them in Houston - AMAZING! However, this location was a huge disappointment. There was a ridiculous wait for 1 hr 15 mins with loads of empty tables. The comment was "all the bussers are busy", while I watched 3-5 hostess and waitresses standing by the hostess booth laughing. As a hostess when I was in highschool we were always told to never have customers waiting if tables were available, buss tables, roll silverware - so your customer can have an enjoyable experience. Mo rating because it's not up here. I am standing in this restaurant as I type this review. Today is my grandmother's 85th bday, we've been planning to come to this establishment for weeks. They initially told us that we couldn't make a reservation for our large party. Yet we pressed on anyway, because we were told that that if we came early we would be seated. As our party was gathering and waiting in the only area available, the seating area, the manager came over the intercom to tell us that we were too loud. Now we're into the 3rd hour, and still bring told they can't accommodate us. I have never been so humiliated in my life. Once again I am disappointed. I'm giving 2 stars because Shawn our server was very nice. The food, not so much. Ok not at all. I had the veggie plate. My choices were the rather crunchy half cooked carrots, the Luke warm unseasoned broccoli, the pound-o-salt green beans (don't canned beans have enough salt already with out adding an entire salt lick?) and the broccoliless broccoli cheese casserole. Okay...this was such a bad experience from waiting for almost 90 minutes to get seated and then another hour for the food to come. I will definitely not be back here and this place will not survive long term if they don't get their act together. The servers are nice and are getting but the management obviously is not on top of their game. They gave my sister a free coupon,free dessert and the waiters celebrated her birthday by singing 'Happy Birthday'. Of course, other restaurants do this, but the difference was the generosity of the waiter for notifying the others to congratulate her. While in other restaurants I've went to, if we were to celebrate her birthday,we would have to notify the waiter to congratulate her. To sum up, Cheddar's is a great restaurant to come to. They make their food with time and care and all of the food they make is made from scratch. They serve tasty food in large,cheap portions. Mainly, Cheddar's are the best known for their service. My first experience trying Cheddars was perfect the food was great and service was friendly. Although the next time i visited Cheddars was during Dinner on a Friday. We expected it to be packed. We waited 30 minutes to be seated. After we were seated the server took our drinks and was gone. She skipped our table to tend to her table with a party of 10 people whom already got their drinks and appetizer, it wouldve been smarter to just serve us who have no drinks or appetizer yet, our order wasnt even in. So we waited 20 or so minutes just to have our orders taken. When we got the food i had been telling my boyfriend good things about the restaurant and we were both hungry and excited to get our food. When we got our food though we were disappointed everything was overly seasoned, the baked potato he got tasted like it was uncooked and popped into the microwave. When we asked to get a sweet tea, the drink came back unsweetened! The best thing we ate there was probably the appetizer, the spinach and artichoke dip. Firstly, our server didn't really seem to care about serving us, kept forgetting to get back to us about stuff, didn't say much... but that's the least of our worries. We waited for about 30 mins to get my salad, and our appetizer (chips and queso) didn't come out until after we were done eating. My fiancée's Monte Cristos were well overcooked, so the outside was hard and super crispy. It came with hardly any fries, we had to ask for more because it had probably 10 fries on the plate, which were unsalted. The worst part was my 8oz steak, which I ordered medium rare, and I got it basically raw as you can see in the photo. Looks like they just rushed it, seared the outside, and threw it on a plate. We also got the hot fudge chocolate cake, which is supposed to be warm, but clearly had just gotten pulled out of the freezer. This was the weekend after Valentine's Day so I can understand they were pretty busy, but there's still no excuse for this many issues. read more

We went here after a movie for a quick bite. I noticed a smell when we were seated in the bar area. My husband thought they needed to clean their beer traps. We got the appetizer sampler which was fine, nothing exciting. Our server was nice and friendly. My issue was the floor. The floor was filthy! Waited about 40 min for a table, which was okay given it was a Saturday night. We sat and waited another 10-15 minutes for a waitress to take our orders. We ordered apps, which didn't come for another 20 minutes and were less than desired. Ordered chips and queso and we got a handful of chips and what looked like reheated cheese. Our entrees come about another 20 min later. My niece's chicken Alfredo was cold and she ended up spitting that out. My steak was very cold and the rice it came with was stale, to which the waitress says "yeah that rice isn't good". The baked potato was cold and hard. My sister ordered a hamburger that was rare, when she ordered well done. The manager came to speak to us and promised us all new meals. About after 30 minutes of waiting, we finally just walked out. Terrible service all around. Also, another waitress broke a glass under the table next to ours. Instead of cleaning it up, she left it there. Went there for lunch today; the burgers were a little blander than I prefer, but cooked to the temp I liked at least! Toppings were fresh, mayo was a tad lacking so I just asked for some more on the side. I asked that the side fries be made "Texas cheese fries" style and that was not an issue, I think an additional dollar charge (well worth it!) Our waiter was absolutely excellent, our food came out within 10 minutes, and we never saw the bottom of our glasses! Was offered a to-go cup as well (which we gladly took...) Well Cheddars use to be one of our favorite places to go....in McDonough Ga. But it is no longer....it was one of my best friends birthday and Cheddar's was the place that we decided to go to....service was slow and my friend had an unwelcome visitor on her seat....she looked strange and I asked her what was that look about, so as not to panic me bc she new that I would have a fit she said that it was a little bug....I thought ant....which was bad, but not as bad as a roach....well guys it was a roach....we did not eat our food not bc of the bug just bc we decided to take it home and eat it later....my friend called me this morning and asked me if I ate my food, I told her no not yet....she informed me that she started eating her's last night and at the bottom of her to go container she found his friend/sister/brother the (roach)....it's a wrap for Cheddars....she called the manager this morning, the manager told her that it may have come in through someone's purse....RITE and crawled on her seat then told his friend, see you later man I'm going to crawl in her box and go home with is Chick....NOT PLEASE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY AND CLEAN UP YOUR RESTAURANT.... read more

I came here at 9pm on a Monday evening for dinner. I was eventually greeted by the hostess who asked if she could seat me in the bar area. I was seated in a small booth by myself across from 2 other occupied booths. And there I sat... un-acknowledged, un-greeted, for some 10 or 15 minutes. I watched as a server finally appeared with a tray of entrees, looked at me as if annoyed, and served her table. She proceeded to walk straight past me, twice, before coming back and acknowledging my existence. She touched the table and said, "I'm your server, and this is my section, but I'm closed, so that guy [as she pointed at an oblivious server behind me] is probably going to take care of you." I asked, "Probably?" She said, "yeah," and walked away. I waited another 5 or so minutes, again, never greeted, before getting up rather unnoticed, and quietly returning to my vehicle. So me and my boyfriend went to cheddars last night for a nice dinner for two. We waited 45 min to be seated and the service was horrible. Once seated our server barely spoke to us. We gave our order to him once we were seated because we had reviewed the menu while waiting. Still waited about 45 min for our food to arrive. We were told they were out of croissants and the next table over received a basket full. They were also out of large to go boxes, large napkins, and enthusiastic servers and hostesses. When Cheddars first open we were pleasantly surprised, great food and low prices! But I must say the last 3 visits we've had there is something always NOT available on the the menu. The First time it was the steaks and fish, the next time no fried chicken for chicken and waffle and the last time January 2nd 2015 around 4pm, no rice for the fish platters, not only that, they took the Chicken and waffle off the menu all together? To there credit the food we order was still delicious, when I have 60 bucks to decide where to spend to take my family to eat and I have my mind set on certain items on the menu just to get crushed when I wait to be seated and then have the waitress to take my drink order then come back and say by the way we don't have this, that and this, well , that kind of sucks!! Currently have been waiting at our table for over 55 minutes. The previous party spilled a drink under our table, left their now wet napkins, and their cup under there. We asked if someone would mop it for us (I had on heels and didn't want to slip) they proceeded to send a young lady with a small towel to crawl on the floor and clean it up by hand because they didn't have a mop. Not wanting the young lady to have to do that, we just asked to move to another table. It took an hour for our drinks to arrive and 40 for anyone to ask our order or if we wanted appetizers.
