Service is slow took forever to get our drinks and food took a long time too. The food and drink were good. Mainly it was not the servers fault but the bartender's fault. Half the time the bartender was not at the bar then our drinks sat there once finally made because our server was delivering food to other tables. In the future this place could benefit from a team approach. For example, the bartender could have walked our drinks over guess we could have gone to the bar and asked for them but in a sit down restaurant that's an employee job. Been going here ever since I tried their steaks, this place is pretty good and not over the top with prices. I used to love their burgers until one day I decided to try the tenders, they're like a perfect crispy but juicy chicken tender you'll ever have. To be fair, that's only every other visit, it's not always like that, which is kind of understandable considering it's a scratch kitchen and things can get busy quick. It was a quite crowded Saturday night but with a party of two we were quickly seated (nice surprise). The food is always good; the salmon is our go to meal. We always enjoy the atmosphere. This time I ordered the same thing again, & this time they send it minus the salad dressing, & the croissant that comes with every order. I decided to call the restaurant directly to see what they could do to resolve their screw up. I was promptly put on hold, & after 2 minutes I gave up. I'm now waiting on DoorDash to show up with my alternative dinner plans as I'm not a rabbit, & prefer to put dressing on my salad. Unless you have time to unpack your entire order in the parking lot, or don't care if your order is missing items DO NOT ORDER TAKE OUT FROM THIS LOCATION. I was instantly impressed with the outside because of the beautiful appeal. I ordered the Dijon chicken and mushrooms with southern beans, the vegetable platter with carrots, loaded baked potato, cheesy broccoli, rice, and salad that comes with the meal topped with homemade ranch dressing. Everyone at the table was fawning over the homemade ranch dressing Lastly, I ordered a double order of country-fried chicken with more of the delicious southern beans and beans and rice. The meals were HUGE portions, so we all were able to have leftovers. I was surprised every entree came with crescent rolls that had sweet savory butter on the top! We had a wonderful late night meal at Cheddars. I think it was Memorial Day. I was amazed at how everything was delicious. We will be back. We went to 3 restaurants looking for somewhere to eat after 9pm. We did not have dinner after a busy day. Discouraged. Tried Barnaby's, El Rancho Viejo, and someplace else. All closed by 9:00pm. Doesn't anyone eat out after 9:00pm in this area?! So happy my husband thought of Cheddar's. . . Open until 10:00pm. Onion rings are out of this world. . . very large portion. Dramatic serving technique which keeps them crispy. The complimentary warm "croissant" rolls we both got were unique. One per person. I ordered the chicken pot pie. You could tell the chef made it fresh. Piping hot. Delicious. Generous chicken. I loved it and I am not one to normally order a pot pie. I just didn't want too heavy of a meal. Came with one side. My side salad was fabulous. So fresh! Great dressing. They make their own. My husband got a Chicken Tenders and a vegetable. He loved his as well, and he always likes his food HOT. It was. Why haven't we eaten there earlier? We missed 10 years of good eating. The service person was spectacular. She checked on us several times. I am not sure I recall her name. Maybe Marisa?? Alyssa? I think she said she only works a couple of days a week because she has her own business. The last 45 minutes of her shift she could have disappeared. we celebrated an event for a family member at Cheddars yesterday 11/9/2025. we have been here many times and everything was just great. yesterday looks like they have change all staff members. service was slow. sign in was slow. personal was unkind and uncaring. including all the wait staff and the manager. very rude people. our order came. and hour later. no rolls no appetizers were brought to our table as ordered. All we did was wait. meal was brought an hour and a half later. we finally got our meal. good excel the Monte Cristi was burn to a crisp. got a waitress 20 mins later. had to wait for another 30 minutes to make another one. low and behold!!!!! this one was also brunt to a crisp ( Uneatable)). by this time. rest of us were done eating ) finally got the manager to the table. he was ex rude an insulting. as if this was all our fault. He agrees to send a gift card to email. ok. normally this gets sent out immediately. well guess what no gift card was sent. and I don't expect it to be. Well 2x in my visit I had to send my rib-eye back, I asked for it to be cooked "med" with now seasoning. First time it came back well done and no seasoning. Not how I ordered it. I send it back to get what I ordered "med" with no seasoning. Mean while friends are already eating while waiting for my steak to be returned. It seems like hours but minutes later here comes my steak. My friends were done eating. The server placed my steak in from of me and I blew my top. It came back again well down and seasoned. 1st time visit for my wife, stepson, and I. Food: food was not the problem. Very tasty, and filling. Maybe the best onion rings I've ever had. Had a pretty good couple of drinks too. Ambiance: warm and inviting on a cold, snowy day. Service: herein lies the problem. #1. Even though we ordered an adult drink and two lemonades anyways, our server informed us that if we were ordering soda, that they ran out of the carbonation for it, and that we could get it flat if so desired. Why in the hell would anyone want a flat pop? #2. Our server brought out the croissants and took our drink orders. Pretty prompt with the lemonades, not so much with my drink. Might've been a slow or swamped or both, bartender though. #3. Server brings my drink, tells me they ran out of the pineapple garnish that goes with it. Wouldn't be a big deal to me, but the 2nd drink had it... #4. After 40 minutes, server informs us that he forgot to put the rest of order in. He just put it in, be 10 more minutes. 20 minutes later, told my wife that if I finished my drink before the food arrived, we'd be leaving. They won that race. #5. When informed of late food order, I asked about a discount, server says he'd have to ask the manager. Ended up with a 10% discount. Personally, I think it should've been substantially more... #6. At this point, the servers attitude became noticeably chillier. He chose to ignore us, and I had to yell at him for the bill. I usually tip the standard 20% nowadays, 25% for above standard service. This servers tip went from 25%, pre late order info, to 20%, and with the additional negative attitude, down to 5%. I think we'll go back for the food, but if I see this server approaching, I will demand a different server. I tried to order a to go order this past Saturday and had to call it in because one of the items that we always order is not on their online menu. The gal that answered the phone told me to hold and after 20 minutes of waiting, I hung up. I called back and this time the same gal was very rude and left me on hold for another 20 minutes! Finally I gave up and we took our business elsewhere. We eat Cheddar's three times a week faithfully, but since our business clearly doesn't matter to them, we will give our money to restaurants that actually treat ALL guests with courtesy. We've been regularly visiting this location since they opened.. great variety of food, my favorites include the cornmeal fish and the Dijon mustard chicken.. but so many others I love too.. Some of us may remember the hit band B52's, well Brian the manager is the doppelgänger of Fred Schneider from the band.. it's unreal.. Brian is a great guy, super nice.. We also love the flavored teas they make.. And like all locations, they have a fantastic big fish tank with beautiful colorful African cichlid fish.. a treat to see.. atmosphere is very nice, possibly among the nicest of all local restaurants, interior includes stone, woods, well placed plants.. It's not like so many that are so poorly designed to be extremely loud and not absorb sound.. saltgrass steak house next door is so loud can't even stand to sit and eat dinner there.. We used to patronize Cheddar's every Saturday without fail. I was in love with the tempura fried shrimp and the onion loaf. We had not been there in a few years bc they took it off the menu. When my mother and sister were still with us, we would always stop at the Cheddars on the way to the airport in Florida for my return to Indiana, three times a year. My family loved everything they ate there. We, My husband and some friends went to Cheddar's a few weeks ago, and the service was horrendous, mostly just like everywhere else. Most of today's servers don't know the meaning of service. So sad. Still have not brought back the shrimp, even though our server said that she had many requests for the tempura shrimp. I'm lost as to why the wait is always so long here. Everything is very average for a slightly above average price. My burger was extremely dry even though it was supposed to have a sauce. The best part of my meal was the chicken tenders in the appetizer. There's plenty of incredible options in the immediate vicinity, so unless everything is booked, do some more exploring. The broccoli casserole was great but everything else was just ok. 2/4 of the dinners were not even warm which tells me some kind of kitchen mishap happened. Greeted by someone who did not speak - just said 2 - put us at a table for six - restaurant was not busy - lots of booths and tables available. Okay, weird. Ordered chicken fried chicken for both of us. The order arrived and once we cut into it, both of the orders were chicken fried steak - not what we ordered. She waitress never returned. The mashed potatoes were ice cold. The house salad was good. The rolls were delicious. $32 for two mains that we did NOT order or want - no beverages. 5 stars to Cheddar's and to Derek! I was planning a lunch event at work for 20 people. We needed to be able to pick up food promptly at 11a for an event starting at 11:15a nearby. Cheddars doesn't open until 11a, but Derek took the order the day before and personally made sure all was ready at 11a.
