We used to love this restaurant, good food, good service, but today we order for to go and when my husband got home with the food, the salad that I order for myself, the one that I usually have at the restaurant (grilled chicken and strawberry salad) was a third of the size I've got every time. This kind of ruin our dinner since we were hungry and going back to the restaurant was not an option, we could not even communicate via phone call since they don't have the option to talk to someone. Great quick stop for a steak. Service was great. Ryan did a great job of taking care of us especially with is movie voice. lol. Steak was cooked perfect and the 6oz filet hit the spot. The ceasar was good too but the broccoli as over cooked and the baked potato had grit on the skin like it hadn't been washed. Ordered to-go dinner, first time visitors. We ordered the largest steak they had and sides to share. The steak was amazing! The bread was fabulous! A yummy baked potato with all of the fixings. The broccoli could have used some butter and salt. I went to the restroom and walked thru the dining room from the bar. I saw such amazing food on every table! 3/16/2026 Let me start by giving LongHorn the usual 5 Stars for food. As always, food was excellent. "You can't fake the steak" is correct, and it's great. Sides were up to the usual standards; service was good if not quite excellent. We've been faithful customers since this one opened, and honestly prefer the steaks at LH over Ruth's Chris. Crazy, huh? But... and here comes the rub. It was FREEZING in the steakhouse. Like the butter wouldn't melt freezing. Like all but one employee were in long sleeve shirts. Like almost every customer in heavy shirts / sweatshirts elected to keep them on, cold. Like our car that sat outside in 20*F weather while we were inside for an hour and a half was still warmer inside when we left than the steakhouse was. I was in a tee AND a heavy flannel shirt and was decidedly cold. My wife was miserable in a sweater. When we asked to speak with the manager and relayed our concern with the temperature, his first response was "I'm not cold." Although he said he would turn the temp up, an hour later it felt the same so I really doubt he did anything. Unfortunately, since this pretty well ruined our experience today, I have to subtract fours stars for the ambient temperature alone and nothing else. We won't be back until it's at least in the 80s outside, if ever. read more

My Wild West shrimp wasn't fresh at all it was almost cold. The rice was barely warm, dry, a little hard and clumpy. My sweet potato had no cinnamon just butter, disgusting. And my 9oz parmesean chicken is literally 2 separate pieces of chicken covered with parmesean cheese to try to hide it I guess. This was a waste of money for sure. My daughter and I ordered the sirloins and it was not cooked to what we ordered. Sent back to cook more and the meat was tasteless and tough. So tough my daughters jaw hurt from chewing and no longer could eat. The chicken appetizer had a crunchy bone fragment. Waitress didn't care at all about care. The mashed potatoes had a weird kinda questionable taste and the steak and potatoes sat in a pool of oil and liquid. This steakhouse will not receive our business again. First of all, our waiter, Brian, was awesome, and he has a voice that should be on the radio. Secondly, I wanted to love this place even more. Because I'm from Texas, and that's like Longhorn state. But I didn't love it as much as I was hoping I would. It is true that the steak was cooked perfectly and it was very tasty, but the asparagus and the broccoli were cooked within an inch of their lives. My husband's salad was green and looked beautiful, and the broccoli and asparagus also looked green and beautiful, but put a fork in him, and it was absolute mush. The other bone I have to pick is with the big potato. I love to eat a good baked potato skin when it's crispy and covered with salt and little fried going on, and the potato itself was good, but the skin still had grit from the ground. The décor of the place is pretty standard for a steakhouse. There are wagon wheel lamp , chandeliers and large pictures of texas blue bonnets and cows , along with some native american looking pottery, and a saddle on the wall. There is even a sculpture of a cowboy riding a bucking Bronco..that is lit up over there and I believe I see another antler chandelier. There is a bullhead and shoulders above the bar which I believe is full and there is at least one TV. Were those people interested in watching while they eat. The cool thing that I've noticed just recently is a wall of framed belt buckles which I used to call Nacho plates. Anyway, I think it's kind of an average place in terms of food. The service was nice. The atmosphere is pretty good. But there are other places that I find have better quality steak and vegetables. But you come here and make your own decision. A filet with loaded potato and Caesar salad....and the T-bone medium rare with the lobster and shrimp chowder with side Caesar. The upgraded bowl of lobster and shrimp chowder was 5-6 spoonfuls worth, not worth the up charge for $2.89 much less to be considered a bowl. The filet side was two bites, cooked perfectly. Arrived at 1:45 PM for a late lunch today 4/2 (Saturday). My wife and I took a seat at the bar and we're the only two customers. It took several minutes to even be greated by the bartender. He was obviously very busy serving tables and making drinks for diners in the restaurant itself. When he finally acknowledged us we asked for a sample of the house beer on tap and he stated that it will be a while to get a sample then walked away to the back room. The bar is your anchor in a restaurant of this nature and to have two patrons blown off as they don't exist is unacceptable. If that's how management allows their staff to treat customers then they should not be leaders let alone be open to patrons. We've been to this location several times before but will never return again. Another Mishawaka restaurant just got your business. read more

I personally did not enjoy my food at all. My steak wasn't cooked properly and the meat was so salty. And unfortunately the customer service wasn't very good either. When we first walked in the place was empty. There was about three other tables going. The girl at the front told us that we needed to wait 15 to 20 minutes so she could give her service more time. I get it that sounds nice and all but we waited there with so many empty tables and other people walking up and someone else even sat down before us because another person greeted them. I thought I would give Longhorn another try...what a disappointment. I have had the "outlaw ribeye" before and have always been pleased with it. I ordered curbside pickup. Wife had the strip steak, and she said it was tasteless...and she doesn't have Covid. I tried it and she was right....barely any seasoning and was relatively tasteless. The outlaw Ribeye had a very tiny bone on the side of it, did not even resemble the picture. I have included a picture of the amount of inedible fat and gristle...what happened? Are you buying "select" steaks now and trying to pass these low quality steaks off to the customer? The outlaw has ALWAYS had a long bone on the side of it but this was fat and gristle only. I am a steak guy, I know steak...how it is supposed to look and taste like. I guess since it was curbside pickup the cook figured "oh well, he'll not bring it back...."maybe I should have, but I will never bring one back cause I imagine what they might do to it. The broccoli was undercooked and crunchy. Baked potatoes were ok. Overall this was really bad. If you continue to produce this kind of quality, you will lose business. There are many more steakhouses that I can go spend 60+ dollars and get better food. Management should retrain their cooks if they can't get the job right the first time.
