Light chips as compared to heavy Mexican restaurant ones elsewhere. Monte Cristo - husband very happy since he has been hung up on the one from Bennigan's that he can no longer get because most of them went under. This one is actually deep fried and has a batter, unlike a lot of other places that say they have a Monte Cristo and it ends up just being a cold sandwich. Buffalo chicken wrap - I am a texture person and the fingers they used are huge and not crispy so it was just too...soft and needed more slaw on the wrap itself. The portion was huge. It looks like you are getting two wraps instead of one so you could easily share this. Service: was fine. Had no complaints. She brought out refills quickly and brought us our check just as fast which was nice. Restrooms - Um, awesome. Why you ask? Nice wooden doors that prying eyes are unable to peek through. I'd give this place five stars for this alone. Nothing worse than making eye contact with a stranger while you are on a toilet with legs exposed and underwear that may or may not be covered up. I have eating at various locations of the Cheddar's chain and found them satisfactory; not outstanding, but a good value for the money. On this particular lunch visit, I had the Monte Cristo. The sandwich was good and plenty large enough. If I thought it would survive the re-heat, I would have taken half home for a late night snack. While I have been to Cheddars multiple times in the past, I haven't been to this location previously, and I haven't been in probably about a year or so. Not because I don't like the food (it's always good), but because in this area there are so many restaurants popping up. Anyway, went to this location for the first time on Friday night. Ordered cheese bites to start (served with marinara that was delicious), and the croissants with cinnamon butter (totally recommend!). Entrees were sirloin with chicken tenders, and the philly cheese steak. Both entrees were also delicious. My main detractor is that since my last visit to any Cheddar location it seems they have been acquired by Darden restaurant group (along with Long Horn, Olive Garden, and a few others), and since that time there is a noticeable decrease in portion size. This can absolutely be a good thing, but it seems like this is likely due to joining a larger corporate group and cracking down on food cost. Totally understandable from restaurant perspective, but noticeably different for people who have been in the past and are returning. I still recommend the restaurant group, as all the food is always prepared as ordered and service is exemplary. read more

Really reasonable prices for the amount of food you get, but sometimes the quality is slacking. Always arrives fairly quick and the staff is friendly and courteous. I had a very disappointing lunch. Mushy broccoli, carrots that tasted liked they had been boiled in sugar, and over cooked tilapia and shrimp with a skimpy tablespoon of salsa. The service was lackluster and I spent most of the meal wondering when I would get more tea. The others in my party thought their food was okay but not great. I will avoid coming back. I hope Cheddars management takes notice of all the mediocre reviews this restaurant is getting. It's hit or miss as to whether you get good service here. Our latest waiter was atrocious. And the food is hit or miss. I ordered chicken and ribs and the ribs were tough as shoe leather and the hubby's steak and potatoes were cold. Oh... And NEVER go here for a birthday celebration!!!!!! As our waiter put it "we don't do anything for birthdays." He didn't even bother to wish our daughter a "happy Birthday" even when we were leaving. The only nice thing he said was when he came to put the receipt on the table, which was a meaningless transparent attempt to improve his tip. This place sucks. read more

Running errands with dogs, we weren't sure we could find a nice pet-friendly place in Murfreesboro, but this is it! We were immediately seated on the patio in shade and a container of water served to the dogs, even before our orders were taken. I personally loved that. The patio is lovely, the menu extensive, service just right and our food was delicious. Definitely recommend, especially for dog-lovers. read more

We visited again and the service was great. I think it was a husband and wife team. I stopped a manager to point out that we were enjoying our experience, as apposed to what we'd had in the past, and she was SUPER rude. She was busy and made no bones about having no time for me. Seriously, I'm not a sensitive guy and not easily offended, but she was blatantly and obviously not interested in me or our party of 14. I wish the server and her husband the best and we tipped well, but the manager should probably stay in the kitchen. read more

My family and I ate at this restaurant this weekend. We have eaten there a few times before also. We have not had any bad experiences and our food has been delicious everytime. We tried the queso dip and chips for the first time this weekend and it was great! We have had great servers everytime except for this weekend. The server this weekend was quite odd and we could tell his mind was elsewhere. The price is great considering how much food is on the plate. This is a favorite restaurant of ours and we would recommend it to anyone! read more

The food from Cheddars is delicious, but the service in the Murfreesboro location is atrocious. Our group waited for almost an hour before our server even took our meal order. And this wasn't just a one time occurrence. The chain is definitely amazing and affordable. But I wouldn't waste your time at this location. read more

We had about a 10-minute wait. Our server was clearly busy but she did the best she could to take care of us and for that we were very appreciative. The food was really good but I don't recommend their homemade chocolate chip cookies. However I do recommend their New Orleans pasta, it was very good. The only complaint I have is that it took a while for service but that's to be expected on a Saturday anyways. The made from scratch mac and cheese needs more salt. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had at any restaurant in my entire life. The waitress, looked and acted very unprofessional, greasy hair, nose ring, and had absolutely no social skills whatsoever. She was lazy, we might've only seen her four times the entire night and every time she asked us if we were "doing alright", she would immediately leave before we could even answer. She was lazy enough that she left all of our parties salad bowls' on the edge of the table the entire night without taking them, as well as all of the empty glasses on the table that should've been taken away very earlier on than even the salad bowls. Near the end of the meal, she didn't even offer to remove any other the other items on the table such as entree plates and bowls. As for the food, very bland and cold. The chicken on my mother's salad was very cold and tough which had obviously been sitting out all day. The steak was about as tough as eating a piece of leather off of a couch. The crescents were about the only good part of the meal. And lastly, What we should've seen before we even entered the restaurant was a vary large hole in the roof that was covered by a small blue tarp. Health violation, who knows... ? read more

Cheddars is an real nice looking Resaurant with really subpar food. My catfish was delivered undercooked. I had to send it back due to the smell. When management was contacted they were rude & not very professional. My mother & I have pledged to never grace the doors again. She ordered chicken that was just awful & dry. Thought it was going to be nice to have a cheddars open in the boro. This will be our last time going. Started out ok but it is hard to mess up some chips and a beer. Then we moved on to some lunch. First when the meal arrive the server had spilled a full container of some sweet sauce in her tray, so all the plates had sweet sauce on the bottoms. Not sure why you would not go back to the kitchen and at least clean the bottom of the plate and get a new tray. Next they got my wife's order wrong. She said it was fine if they would just bring the salsa that was suppose to come with the chicken. Well they did not bring the correct salsa. That would not have been the worst of it if the chicken and shrimp was not over cooked. So I got a full rack of ribs and while the ribs were good the mash potatoes had way too much salt. Bartender finally gets here and recards me again and retakes my order. In between that another waitress stopped to ask if I needed anything. The food was very good. The service was pretty slow. She brought the salad out after the entree which was a little annoying.

They really have to train their servers better. I don't know if our server was having a bad day or what but she really brought down the atmosphere at our table every time she stopped by. My daughter didn't like her Mac and cheese and I had it set to the side in front of me. I told the server she didn't like it and instead of removing it from the table she just left it there to get old and gross and take up room. Her response was "oh ". I wasn't expecting anything special but I have been in the restaurant industry for a long time and this service was pretty bad. For a Saturday night I was very surprised to find out that there wasn't a wait for the restaurant. It's in a really convenient and popular location near the interstate and on a nice night like this I would have expected there to be more people. That was until I went in and ate. The 3-star "A-Ok" is about the way I would describe my meal. I had their Sweet Heat Chicken and Shrimp from their Lighter Side selections (562 calories) as well as their Honey Butter Croissants. The bread was probably some of the best I have ever had at a restaurant. However, I was not very impressed by the salad that came with the chicken and shrimp and found the dressing to be too spicy for the meal. The prices were reasonable and I didn't leave dissatisfied with the chicken, shrimp, and ginger rice they came on which were in all honesty very good. My partner had the New Orleans Pasta which he thought was also good except for the smoked sausage that came with it. Our server was nice and we were in an out in under an hour. read more

This was my third time coming to cheddars and quit frankly it is absolutely disgusting. I have never found anything i like to eat there because it all seems to taste like frozen food just warmed up. Tonight when a friend and i went to eat we got sat at a table in the bar area. Okay for one it's was so messy in there. The floors looked like they had not been swept all day the tables had not be wiped down and there were ants on the table. I'm sorry but i don't like having bugs on the table while i eat. Now let's get to the service. I know it was 8 at night and as a server you're ready to go when it gets closer to the end of the night but if you haven't been cut yet why not try to make that extra $5-$10? So our server didn't even really greet us it was more of hey what do you want to drink? And was so fast to walk away we couldn't even tell her we wanted an appetizer then when she came back with our drinks "you ready to order". No we weren't ready to order we just got our drinks and considering i haven't found anything g i liked i really needed a minute. Okay so the. The third time around when the appetizer came out (cold) i finally just ordered a quesadilla because how can you go wrong with that? Granted it was good for it being a quesadilla but for the restaurants name to be "cheddars made from scratch kitchen" it most definitely is not made from scratch. Now remember i told you about the ants on the table? We moved from that table to the one behind it and told our server about the problem. She didn't do anything about and still hadn't cleaned the table. In the middle of our dinner they sat another couple at the table that was dirty and had bugs on it!!!! So gross!!!! Not to mention our waitress was sitting at the bar picking at her nails and taking her acrylic nails off (if i could insert the puking emoji i would). It's no wonder why so many people that work here quit and go somewhere else because of the filth and service i can see why no money is made. I generally always leave a very generous tip but when you feel like you're eating in a dumpster and all the other servers are just lolly gagging around it's hard to be that generous with money. I have been to this establishment twice and that was two times too many! The first time there was something in my drink, my salmon was overcooked crispy and dry, and my daughters mashed potato's had something in it that the manager said was an onion. I sent my food back and declined the managers offer of something else. My daughter ate her food and was given a new mashed potato's and it had nothing in it. Left mad and hungry. The second time I went I ordered the lunch special of salad and potato. I ordered the salad with dressing on the side as I do not like my salad drenched in dressing. When it arrived it was drenched in dressing. Also my potato was supposed to be loaded and arrived with only butter. When the waitress asked if everything was ok I told her the problems and she said the salad was her fault she didn't hear the dressing on the side. She has someone bring me cheese and bacon for the potato. While the waitress was at the table my husband asked if his Caesar salad was always served hot. He was told no. He informed the waitress that his was and she told him she would let them know. We got no apology. Will never go back to this place again! Terrible food and even worse service. read more

Our server, Victor, was excellent!!! He was very attentive, but not too much. We never had to wait on a drink refill. If he saw my drink or my husbands' was gettting low, he brought us a fresh one out without interrupting our meal by asking if we needed another one. I really liked that he paid close attention to that. My biggest pet peeve at any restaurant is not having a drink at all times or having to ask for one. We did not have that problem at Cheddar's. Our food was very good and plentiful. We brought half of our food home with us because we had so much. Prices were great! I loved the design of the restaurant inside and out! Their fish tank is beautiful. When we got up to leave, Victor even offered a to go bag for our boxes. Very great service. I tipped 40% instead of 20% because I feel great service should be compensated well. This was our first visit ever, and we will be visiting often in the future! read more
