I love Cracker Barrel Old Country Store. They have great pancakes, I like the decor all over the wall, workers are kind, you have a game to play at your table while waiting, and they have a store. Service is kind of slow coming out, but they are usually busy when I go. They have breakfast and lunch foods from lunch to closing. All the food I have there has been good. First time at Cracker Barrel. I definitely think I ordered the wrong thing. I would be down to come back and order a breakfast this time. I had the grilled chicken salad. It was the saddest entree salad I've ever seen. Literally a few pieces of iceburg, some cheese and croutons. The chicken was good but I wouldn't say it was super seasoned or anything memorable. My husband got the combo thing with meatloaf and fried chicken, mac and cheese and mashed potato. The meatloaf was pretty good but heavy on the bell pepper and I was kinda afraid of the sauce chicken was also great and I love that it was boneless. I'd probably order that too. We also shared the cheese bites. These are like cheese curds at any other restaurant and I liked the light batter as sometimes these come with a more mozzarella stick breading. My dad has the pot roast and I tried that. Very good too. There are biscuits and cornbread that come with the meal. I don't like biscuits but these were really good and I expected to enjoy the cornbread more but the cornbread really wasn't that great. Tasted very heavy on the corn meal and not much else. Needs some corn kernels, jalapeños, seasonings, etc. but I love that they are generous with it as we got 2 baskets for the 7 of us with about 3 of each in each. read more

Stop number 3 for birthday freebies. Free dessert for your birthday. These cinnamon rolls are one of their new desserts. If you dine in the come to the table hot in a small iron skillet. I ordered curbside today ( have 2 more b-day stops). They were beautiful even in a plastic container. The aroma of the cinnamon was intoxicating. Our crew stopped in for lunch on a Sunday. I lost count of how many but we were seated fairly quick upon arrival (reservation). It has been years since my wife and I have visited CB. I continue to like the menu items available. We all had a variety of his or her comfort food and all liked their meal. Still a lot to like under the CB roof. While I've looked and listened to the whole hoopla surrounding this chains on and now off changes it won't keep me from returning- for now at least. Good eats! read more

I love Cracker Barrel and always have. Their breakfasts are my favorite. The sausage patties are some of the best. I wish the sold them in the stores. That sage flavor is yummy The roast beef dinner/lunch is another one of my favorites. This year we decided not to cook and to try them for dinner. I was amazed at how quickly the herded people in and out. We all loved our meals and enjoyed or time together as a family. Most importantly we didn't feel rushed! Great job Cracker Barrel. Kudos to the management staff for the smooth holiday planning and execution. I wouldn't mind doing this again next year. I am getting very frustrated with Cracker Barrel. It seems like whenever I go there to eat they are out of the menu item that I want. Today it was the country fried turkey. Another time it was the pot roast that they were out of. Not only that, the only time you can get bone-in fried chicken is on the weekend. Corporate has messed up this menu so bad that I wonder if they really want to stay in business. I usually enjoy eating here but lately it's become a real pain. We should have known something was wrong when the restaurant was less than 1/4 full for dinner. First my MIL ordered chicken dumplings, only to be told they didn't have any chicken for the dumplings. After 30 minutes passed and we were still waiting on our food, we were told that the pork chops (tonight's special) were frozen and being thawed and we could reorder if we wanted to. Who forgets to cook chicken or thaw pork chops that is on the special that night? Cracker Barrel used to be so reliable, but our last two experiences here have been bad and I doubt we will be back. read more

Had a great experience at Cracker Barrel this evening. Greeted with a smile and seated right away, I could not wait to eat! The smell of the food had me drooling . Our waitress was wonderful. Been coming to this CB for several years and unfortunately every year they get worse and worse. If it wasn't for my older family members who feel they have to come here I would never come. It is such a disappointment from years past. The food most of the time is subpar and with a few exceptions, the service absolutely is horrible. Did a carry out order this last time for a sick friend in the hospital. The ordering process was fast and easy! The preparation time was stellar - just under 15 min! I was helped by friendly staff in a timely fashion, too, when I went in to get it. My only complaint is they need to remember to include silverware on a take-out order. I had a bit of a time trying to get a hold of some silverware in a timely fashion when I got to the hospital. Other than that, the food was tasty, on point and warm. My friend was so appreciative. We eat at both Cracker Barrel locations in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, several times a year. On this occasion, September 4, 2025, we went with our visiting relatives to the Cracker Barrel on Chaffin Place. We were glad to see that the atmosphere was still that Old-Fashioned atmosphere that we had grown to love all these years. Our waitress was friendly, but not very efficient in her job. She delivered our food, but several of the things we requested when ordering were things we had to request again. The food we ordered was in smaller portions than we usually received, and it luke-warm. We were sitting quite close to the kitchen and we could hear a lot of unneccesary, and inappropriate conversation. We were quite surprised that there wasn't more managerial control of the staff. The professionalism that should have been wasn't. We're hoping that this was just a bad evening and not the standard that is coming into the store. It's not only a reflection of this particular store, but of the whole chain from the Corporate heads to the employees. It might be a while before we come back to Cracker Barrel. read more

SO much cute stuff! I can always find great gifts for the people who have everything. They have super cute personal cards, vintage candies and sodas, healthy skin care products, kitchen decor, clothing... I love it! My wife and I went to the Jack Daniels Distillery for a tour. We were very hungry but decided to wait til we got on the highway. We had fried on our minds so we went to Crackel Barrel. This has been the third one we have gone to during our vacation to Nashville. We placed our order for the 4 piece dinner only to be told that they were out of fried chicken. The ambiance was very relaxing and slow paced, but the service was also rather slow. It may have been an isolated incident, but every facet of the staff was slow. We didn't see a hostess for a long while as we waited to be seated, the waitress came to our table maybe 3 times and rarely checked our drinks, and the clerk at the checkout was on her phone for a solid 2 minutes before noticing I was waiting to pay. I wasn't in a rush, so it wasn't a big deal, just keep that in mind if you are on a time crunch. I had ordered the catfish, and I must say that it had a decent taste, but was tough in some places. Great service! The store was clean, we were quickly seated, and our server was quick and friendly. The food came out within five minutes but was still hot and fresh and tasty. They have daily specials during the week and have some pretty good meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, and hash brown casserole. My go-to for southern-style comfort-food in a laid-back, old-fashioned setting. The line on this visit was thankfully short because we hit the sweet spot between the post-church lunchgoers and the early-dinner eaters. Service was fast and efficient and our food was predictably good. The Chicken and Dumplings were savory and hearty and was a generous portion. The Fried Chicken Strips were tasty and fried to a crispy goodness. Will definitely be back, just need to make sure we time it because the meal time-lines are a bit long. read more

We have been to this location a few times. Each time hoping it would get better but it just got worse. The hostess and wait staff are fine. But the food.. Has become Non Edible. We were immediately seated but it went downhill from there. 10 minutes into the visit the waitress wanders by apologizing for the wait then brought our drinks ,took our food order then 15+ minutes later came back by apologizing for the wait. This location is open during COVID-19 precautions, and they seem to be doing a great job! Their carry-out system looks well refined. We were able to dine in, with tables spread out for separation, and the staff well masked to protect their customers. Everything looked very clean, even having removed their beloved games from the tables. :-( Service was fantastic, friendly and prompt! The food was also very good. I stopped in to order a side of broccoli "to go" for my mom. I spoke to two employees and both of them told me a Server would come over and take my order. They even took customers from behind me to be seated, as I waited two times. But wasn't able to radio in to the kitchen for a side of broccoli. Then the Server came out front by the Cashier to look over the "to go" shelves. About one minute before the Server arrived, two other employees walked over and one in a blue shirt maybe a Manager, asked had I been helped. I told her why I was standing there to order a side of broccoli. She asked the Server would he take my order. He told her not now, as he was too busy. In total four (4) employees knew what I wanted but not one of them took my order. So I said, "It's obvious that Cracker Barrel doesn't want my money any longer." And I walked out, didn't hear a squeak from them; not a let's get your order, or an apology. Bye, Bye and good riddance to you Cracker Barrel. This used to be out go-to location if we wanted Cracker Barrel fare, but a few years ago after my wife was served fried okra from which a piece had antenna protruding (fried roach, anyone?), we switched to the one on 231 (Church Street). We recently started coming back to this one to see if things had changed, and while we haven't encountered any deep fried critters, it's still better to make the slightly longer drive to the other location in town. Food quality overall is just not on par with other Cracker Barrel locations. Orders either come out incorrect, cold, or both. Portion sizes are decent, but if it's not what you ordered or nearly inedible, does portion size even matter? As for service, while the folks are nice enough, either the location is severely understaffed or they are trying to see who can serve the fewest amount of tables in a day. On our last visit, my wife and I waited 25 minutes after being seated just for someone to show up and get our drink order. Then it was nearly another half hour for food. The restaurant was only half full, so they certainly weren't inundated. At any rate, don't plan on making a quick stop at this location. read more

Server was great, but other than that, some of the food was overcooked, some undercooked, but nothing in between (and food took 40 minutes to come out). The server tried her best to help (and did a very nice job overall), but the manager they have did absolutely nothing about it. We asked that they replace some aspects of our meal, but they never came, even after 25 minutes. Atmosphere was a little chaotic, but still has the Cracker Barrel feel. Overall, 1/5.
