Walking in Hostess was not friendly and proceeded to sit us at the smallest table she could find. We are not small people so this should be obvious not to sit someone larg at a tiny table. Waitress was efficient and nice. Ordered Shrimp with carrots and baked potato. Husband ordered Full rack of ribs with baked potato and rice and beans. Waited 15 minutes for food. Had to send it back because carrots were hard, and raw. Baked potato was burnt and not done. How do you manage to burn a potato and it still be not done! Ribs was tough enough to knock a tree down, and RAW in the middle. Went to bathroom and had to walk through Bar to get to it which I don't mind. Noticed trash all over floor in bar area. Employees working in the bar area wasn't cleaning, just talking. Bathroom was Trashed! I should have checked this first!! They forgot to take off the 1st 2dinners so another wait for this! I've been here twice and decided after the second time on Monday, March 13th, at 5 pm to complete my review. The first time the food and service were good, but this time both fell so far from the mark it was ridiculous. To start off my family walks in to a hostess (male) that hardly looked up when asking how many were in our party. Then the menus were so filthy we were disgusted. As we walked to the table our feet were sticking to the floors. The server approached the table looking slovenly with a bent nose ring and took our drink order, but took ten minutes to bring the drinks, as she had a larger table near by. The silverware and tiny plates for the croissants were filthy. We placed our order which arrived in a reasonable amount of time, but my wife's chicken sandwich had no mayo, the garlic bread under my son's fried chicken was only toasted on one side and my corn (inedible) had enough salt in it to increase a person's blood pressure to a dangerous level. All in all, Cheddars turned out to be pretty crappy and someone should be fired. No really- Fire someone! Workers want more money, but provide less service, well, I will no longer patronize these places and encourage everyone to not tip for poor service. read more

Made another visit to this Cheddars location. Ordered a spinach dip appetizer, grilled salmon, and a cheeseburger. The place was busy on a Sunday afternoon and loud. The hostess told us it would be about 15 minutes, but we were seated sooner than that. The meal came before the appetizer and we asked them to just cancel the appetizer. Instead, the waitress brought us a cheese dip appetizer and said it was on the house. I had ordered spinach dip, but it was loud in there and maybe she misheard me. The burger and fries were decent and filling. The salmon was the same, though a little dry. the green beans were under cooked. The server did a nice job, but the food was basically average. Went to Cheddar's with the family for the first time since it opened and was a little disappointed. This location is newish but still yielding long wait times and drawing a significant crowd. We went around 5:30pm and it was a 45 minute wait. I did notice several empty tables but own that I don't know if there was a reason they were left empty. We went to the bar and ordered drinks while we waited. They were decently priced and we should have just ate at the bar because it had the whole menu. We did order the croissants and they were good but not something I would crave again. We were seated within 45 minutes in a section that again didn't feel as full. It took a while for our server to come to our table and get our drink orders. When they finally did we already knew what we wanted and ordered all together. I ordered a medium rare top sirloin with the broccoli casserole and green beans with a house salad to come out first. I never got my salad and had to ask it to be taken off the receipt. When my meal came my steak was more medium well and the broccoli casserole was more rice and cheese with little broccoli. The green beans did not look fresh and were mushy. They were the flat green beans that looked like they came from a can. Overall this place is overrated for what you get. read more

This is probably the best BAR you can find at a restaurant. I'm not a huge fan of the food but it's good and good portions. My absolute favorite and game changer is the croissants - DELICIOUS!!!!! We have been waiting to go to this place for months now. We finally made it today when we went as soon as it opened. We have eaten at one in Brandon so we were excited about this one. We were quickly seated (no surprise since we heard the doors unlocked!!) and ordered the honey croissants. Our server came back and told us the croissants were going to take awhile. We assured her this was fine as we were in no hurry. When they arrived they were absolutely delicious. Our meal came soon after that. My husband ordered the chicken fingers and steak with broccoli casserole and Mac and cheese. I ordered the house salad and half monte cristo sandwich. Every thing was very good except the Mac and cheese. The sauce was runny. We will be back if we can get there before the doors open!! read more

First calling in to order I had to wait over five minutes, and when I called back because I hung up for a waiting so long, I was told that I was third in line and that she, the lady taking orders, knew I was on the phone waiting. My order was eventually taken. She was pleasant enough although the guy on the phone that initially answered, not so much. I only wish I had gotten his name and I'd write it. Second, I was told my meal would be ready at 7:45, I arrived at 7:51, had to call again once I got there and waited on hold again over five minutes, as no one came out and I had no link so I had to call. The lady who bought my order out was kind enough, so that is appreciated. The food does not look as good as it does where I normally order from. I hope it tastes OK. They claim to have a "gluten-sensitive" menu but they do not have alternative gluten free items like pasta, bread, sauces, or even soups. The "gluten sensitive" menu they use consists of their normal menu items with everything that contains gluten taken off. For example, they advertise their "gluten-sensitive Caesar pasta salad" as usual but once you look at the description the pasta and croutons were not included, making it a Caesar salad, a demonstration of their faulty advertising. This occurred consistently throughout their menu with nearly every item. To improve this establishment's accessibility to individuals with celiac, I recommend incorporating true gluten free alternatives to pastas, breads, and sauces which have become increasingly popular over the past few years. Overall, the service and atmosphere were fantastic, despite the false advertising. I went here to take my Dad out for his birthday meal. We were greeted right away and sat in a section that was accommodating for my Dad since he had a walker. The table and floor didn't appear to be completely cleaned from the last customer. There was some garbage, food scraps, and cloth napkins on the floor, which was removed when someone pointed it out. Our meals included the Wisconsin cheese bites, Cornmeal Crusted Whitefish platter, Homestyle Meatloaf, Country Fried Chicken, Chicken Tenders Platter, and the Hot Fudge Cake Sundae. The croissants weren't baked enough because it wasn't brown and crisp on the outside, but, it still tasted good. The rest of the meals were delicious all around. We are a Foody Family and tried each other's entree. The crusts (cheese bites, fish, chicken) were crisp and light, not greasy)The mashed potatoes were delish and the brown gravy was SO good!! My Dad likes cocktail sauce with his fish and that was probably the best we had. So now we get to the cake; it was rich and sweet and the ice cream and whipped cream was all so perfect together, it was unanimous in our group that it was the best dessert we could have in a restaurant! I would definitely share this or take it to go because it was a very large portion for the price. The only minor set backs were the croissants and that the fries weren't hot. It's a chain. They have an attractive building, a nice menu with good variety and can execute their dishes pretty well. It's not the greatest meal you will get but you won't be unsatisfied when you leave. First we asked for a table instead of a booth because my husband is disabled and she said we have plenty of booths open. I said we can't use a booth and she acted disgusted because we wanted a table. Then when we ordered and got our food, my husbands steak tasted "funny", his baked potato wasn't cooked all the way and his cooked carrots were cold as well as the potato. So he sent it all back. It took over 20 minutes to get another meal and by that time I had finished eating. He is a diabetic and his blood sugar was dropping by this time. I spoke to the manager who apologized and said she would speak to the server and take care of our bill. When our bill came, we were billed twice for the steak dinners! The menu is pretty large with plenty of detailed options to choose from AND everything is MADE FROM SCRATCH :) We only came for dessert and it was AMAZING!! We had the "Seasonal Crisp A La Mode" (it was apple pie with the crumbled topping and 2 scoops of ice cream). I have heard great things about Cheddar's from friends and they all recommended that I try it out. I decided to have lunch with a friend who is staying in Leesburg and this was a nice in the middle spot. We arrived around 12:45 and were seated immediately. They are doing a great job at spacing out the tables in a COVID time. We sat down and were given paper menu's to look over. Our waitress came over and took drink orders. She was nice and attentive, but you could tell she had a lot of tables and was overwhelmed. For lunch I ordered the chicken tenders. Actually the person I was with also ordered the chicken tenders as well. She ordered hers dressed in BBQ and I got mine with Buffalo sauce on the side. They must of not understood cause both of our tenders came out undressed. For me it was fine. I did think the chicken tenders were a little dry and did not have any seasoning. They seemed like the ones that were frozen and just tossed in a deep fryer. Also I didn't find the sides to be to good as well. I got the loaded mashed potatoes and the broccoli and cheese with rice side. Again these just did not have a ton of flavor. Overall it was an okay place, but I am not running to get back. I'm shocked to see so many negative reviews at Cheddar's is one of our favorite places to eat in Ocala! Although it's fairly new and management is probably trying to work out any issues (I always see a busy and full parking lot on the weekends) I have always enjoyed my visits! First- the croissants you get with your meal are absolutely to die for and make this restaurant a 5-star for me alone, but the rest of the meal makes it even better. The menu has a ton of options, which can make it difficult to make a decision, but I like that there are lots of choices for every kind of eater. So far everything I've tried has been very tasty, but the honey hot chicken tenders are always my go-to. Our service has always been very friendly and speedy, and I feel the pricing is pretty fair for the amount of food that comes with the meal. For those comparing it to Applebee's, I would argue Cheddar's provides a higher-quality taste and experience than that of other average chain restaurants.
