Been back to restaurant a couple times since first review and the meals were like they used to be. The gyros were much better.

If I could give this location a zero, I would. I don't know how the service and food is at other locations of this restaurant (if it is a chain); but the food at this location is atrocious, in my opinion. I ordered fried shrimp, calamari, and oysters. The oysters were hot, but not impressive. I did not get my calamari or the large shrimp. What I got were cold, dried up shrimp that had apparently been under the heating lamps since the Biblical flood. I called immediately to complain and get at my money back for the shrimp and calamari...the manager was busy. I tried calling back two times on the same day as the purchase and got some weird answering machine message. Tried calling back the next day and got the same weird message. I think my number is blocked. When I moved here two years ago, the location on 19th Street must have been under another manager or ownership; back then the food was very good and worth a 4.5 or 5-star rating. This management or owner should be closed down. I would not be surprised if the rating of this location is less than a B. read more

Stopped here on the way to TN. Google told me it was one of the only places open late in Ocala. Ordered a chicken sub combo with a coke light ice. The coke was mostly ice, but the sandwich was so beautiful that I didn't even care! I never knew fast food could look so sexy. lol I was starving, but could only eat half of the sandwich. They give you quite a bit of fries (which were perfectly crispy). It was a bit of a wait, but with food that delicious and pretty, I'll wait patiently! I like the gyros. The hours are late enough then I can always find it open when I need to. And there's a whole bunch of diversity of food types on the menu. There's something for almost anybody. They have a good bit of seafood, chicken wings, another sandwiches. The only vegetarian options are a couple of different types of salad including a Greek salad. There is a veggie pita that is not on the menu if you ask for it, it is available. It is like a Gyro with only vegetables; there are sides like fried okra and fried mushrooms, corn nuggets, and other sides. Rice and beans. read more

Sorry I took the photo after I started eating but I was starving! Lol This meal that I got was soooooo goood! The potatoes were big and fresh, the shrimp was flavorful and garlicky and cooked just right. The potatoes in this meal are add ons so if you want it like how I got it you'll need to let the cashier know and pay a little extra, however the price was not bad at all. The cashier was very nice and patient and I waited roughly 10 minutes for my food which was not a bad wait time at all. Well Well Well.... Look what I stumbled on here!!! ANF Gyro & Grill! I am a huge Gyro fan and I am Floored with the amazing taste!! The service was brief and accurate and although the line was backed, the line was moving smoothly. This nice restaurant is located off University and the Full Menu will leave you speechless! Tonight's choice was the #1 Gyro Combo with Nacho Cheese Fries and the 10 Piece Lemon Pepper Wings with Nacho Cheese Fries. The Lamb was amazing as always, and the nacho cheese fries are like nothing I've ever tasted!! The wings were great in flavored, coated in deliciousness but fried a little too hard but still amazing to eat. If you are in the area swing by but you will have to drive around back to get to the drive thru. There isn't a street pull in entrance. read more

I have ordered from this establishment two times and both times it has been delicious. I always get the gyro without the peppers. It is fresh and full of meat. Their sauce is also very good and plentiful. When I get a hankering for a gyro, this is my go-to place. read more

A little expensive which i don't mind if the food is good, but i was handed a bag that was leaking everywhere from oil from the wings. The fries had no potato inside and were hollow, overall pretty bad. They have a lot on their menu so i'd try something else if I ever went back but don't see myself going out of my way to give it another shot based off of this poor experience. read more

I order 16 large shrimp, when I look to the size of the Shrimps they look like Small. I go back to the place ask them about the wrong size on my shrimps, manager gave the excuse that Shrimp shrink. This is not my first time ordering from this place so I know the size of the Shrimps itself. They didn't do anything about it they basically ripped me off. First and Last. We stopped by the drive thru for 2 Gyros, Fries, and shrimp. Normally we go to sit down Greek restaurants for the Gyros. The service was great! The Fries and shrimp were deep fried in some kind of oil that didn't taste well but the items were freshly cooked. The Gyros had lots of meat and sauce, but it was just a bit too salty. The restaurant is very clean and although there was only a single person available to take our order - she was very pleasant, greeting us as we approached and efficient at handling the drive-thru and counter. She answered our questions and made recommendations. We had the gyro combos today. I opted for onion rings as my side at a small up charge. The food was delivered to our table (a pleasant surprise) and was hot and tasted great. The gyro meat is sliced to order so it was not dried out at all. Their tzatziki is fresh made and the onion rings were not greasy or dry. Our tea was also obviously made fresh. The menu is extensive with burgers, fish and other option. Gainesville location For me the food is the most important criterion but unfortunately their food was not good... So hence the 2 stars. I was looking forward to finding a place that sold oysters for such a reasonable price but was sorely disappointed by them. The oysters were nicely breaded (not too much but not too little) but the oyster meat had a slightly bitter taste (more noticeable in the aftertaste). I'm no expert on fried oysters. The restaurant itself was clean and the employees were nice. There is a drive through but it also has a good amount of seating inside. read more

We came here for Gyros. We have been searching for a good Gyros since we moved here, and finally found a great one! Most places we have been to have the kits. Yuck. We love this place! Finally got a chance to try this place after leaving the movie theater. They did not disappoint! I had the cheeseburger meal and my husband ordered the gyro. Both were delicious! I came for lunch; it was so good I came back for dinner! Carissa is a great waitress. I called my order in to be ready when I arrived. She arranged my meals to be made at a certain time, so they would still be hot upon arrival. Gyros are PHENOMENAL here. I got regular for lunch and lamb for dinner. I think the regular was even better. I came 90 mins round trip to eat dinner here again, after discovering this place while in Ocala this afternoon. I will SO be back! I went through the drive-thru here today after a doctor's visit. I spotted it just by chance, I called them to make certain that lamb is used in their Gyros. So, I ordered the +1, where I got a gyro, fries, and a side, which I chose to be the 1/2 lb. gizzards. I asked for extra Tzatziki sauce for the gyro, and hot sauce for the gizzards. I have to say that the food was amazing. I come from Tampa Bay, so I miss Salem's and the other Greek shops around. The gyro was generously packed with meat, if I had any recommendation, it would be to add extra onions to the gyro. Lol. The gizzards were phenomenal. I have not had any in close to five years, since they are hard to find in the Wildwood area. They were tender, a little chewy, and the batter was light and not overly seasoned. I had my hopes up about this place and had been wanting to try. Just ordered the medium shrimp, 15 calamari rings, & the chicken tenders. Everything smelled so good & was freshly made. But it had NO FLAVOR! The buffalo sauce that I ordered to go with the tenders isn't the traditional flavor... it's DIFFERENT. Arrived at AnF and the place was kinda empty which is fine because they are newly opened. There was a really bad sulfur smell which made me slightly woozy & the music on the radio station was off (spiting)but stayed for my daughter and sister, Ordered the Gyro and side of rice and beans. Why in Ocala every place that serves rice and beans think black beans go with yellow rice? I'll never understand, but I'm a Miami gal and it's not usually done this way. The Gyro was ok and the rice and beans were actually pretty flavorful. Owner was very nice and polite.I though $10.37 for a Gyro rice & beans and a soda was a bit steep for a place with no server But I guess it's average these days. read more

Clean, friendly staff, great prices, great food. It's your typical Mediterranean restaurant, serving gryos, subs, wings and seafood. Owner and family are very friendly. My favorite so far is their 20 wing and fries combo for $15. Don't expect a very fast drive-thru experience, as the food is made to order. I've only tried a few things on the menu, but everything is priced very well, and has a ton of flavor. My go-to spot for sure. It's similar to Salem's Gyro's found in southern FL. read more

This was absolutely the worst food I've ever had. I've been to many places and had a lot of delicious Greek food, do not be fooled, this place is gross and not at all about the Gyro. My biggest regret was walking out without asking for a refund because I figured it wasn't worth it, in hindsight I wasted $40 and should have asked the manager for my money back. From the air-conditioner dripping behind the cashier and she took her order to the yellow chicken my son receive one he ordered chicken tenders, nothing was good. I should've known better from the moment we started to order and the air-conditioner was dripping dirty water behind the cashier. The lobby tables were mostly dirty and weren't being cleaned by anybody. The ice machine was empty and you had to ask them to get ice from the drive-through. The gyros were literally in edible. I'm not sure how you screw up a chicken tender but my son would not even take a bite of his yellow chicken. I'm not sure if they try to use curry, but it was a fail. My daughter in a gray hamburger, well part of a great hamburger and could not finish the rest. Against my better judgment my daughter ordered fried calamari, it was as bad as you think Fred Calamari would be from a fast food restaurant. The Greek restaurant in Jazmine plaza is 100 times better. If you're looking for fried disgusting food, this is your place. read more

Went here for the first time. The food was awful. Fries were salty and greasy and the chicken tenders were over cooked and the taste was nasty. All of the food to include the shrimp and greasy fried Okra also tasted like they were cooked in the same grease as the chicken. A meal that mainly went into the garbage. THE FOOD WAS GREAT !! And the fact it was a last min when I had decided that I wanted to get food and seen the place I'm so happy I went there I had the crab legs and the shrimp and my boyfriend had the gyro and everything was great and it was towards closing time I just loved it ! mind you I went there in November 2019 I made sure I came on to write a review I live in New York and will defiantly be coming back here when I'm in area. !!!!!! Ordered a simple gyro sandwich and the whole thing tasted like it had been in a refrigerator for a couple of days. The meat was dry and bland with really no taste of what would identify it as a gyro meat and the bread was chewy and dry.
