    Chicken sandwich sub baked potato.

Norm! (Sorry, old person joke). I was pleasantly surprised by my experience here. It's more of a bar than a restaurant, but my friend and I sat at one of their outside tables, as far away from the AC/DC-heavy live band as we could get, and enjoyed our meal. They have outside live music both Friday and Saturday nights, with rotating bands. Our server Austin was excellent, and I love that he was on the ball taking care of the outside tables. I started with a cotton candy martini, which was tasty, even if it loses some of it's pizazz when served in a plastic cup. For my meal I had the basic grilled chicken sandwich with a plain baked potato. Not fancy, but good, and they remembered the side of salsa I asked for. Dessert was fantastic; they had a special of tiramisu, and it really was delicious, definitely the star of the show.

So we like to go out our first night of our springs trip and this place was right around the corner and good reviews so let's eat!! It is part of a country club so the venue is really nice! It was a Thursday and close to closing so we had no problem getting a table. I thought the menu was pretty large for a country club cafe but they said they make everything fresh and in house. Even their dressings. J our server / bartender was awesome. Offered great suggestions and love to talk about wine! We started with the soups of the day. Tortilla soup and clam chowder. OMG both were so good. Both were scratch made and fresh. Delicious. For our mains I got the special. Mushroom chicken special. This was ok. I would have liked more mushrooms and a little more seasoning. Deb had the Shrimp creole. Creamy and delicious. Make the shrimp blackened to kick it up. A very solid spot for food in the area. Everything made from scratch and fresh. Friendly folks !

Gave them yet another chance and again Huge disappointment! Came in on Sat...sat down and ordered at 5:30pm. Ordered 2 prime rib dinners...waitress then comes to our table at 5:40pm and said they were completely sold out! Really? For dinner at 5:30 pm you are sold out???? Never again will we go back...has always been poor service and mediocre food-but wanted to give them one last chance...I learned my lesson! SO done!

Service was fantastic on a busy Friday night. Food was good and loved the huge outdoor patio with live music!

Wasn't too crowded, prices weren't too bad. It is in a converted golf club house. Well worth going to. Food was awesome!

Fried chicken was really tasty with a perfect crunch and juicy chicken. The fried catfish was breaded with cornmeal, perfectly crispy, also well seasoned and very moist and tender inside. The tartar sauce was homemade and very good but they also have a good peppered vinegar. Between us all we had an opportunity to try a lot of sides. Hush puppies which one of our hush puppy lovers said was the best she ever had (I'm not a fan of these overall so I can't really say). The potato salad was very good, creamy, with just a hint of onion and relish. Baked potatoes and sweet potatoes were enjoyed by all. Loved the crispy okra and green beans. Collard greens were also good. Of course, we couldn't leave without trying the pies. Caramel apple walnut was a little too nutty for me but it was still good. They key lime was my personal fave -- the crust was a good crumbly graham cracker that was definitely home made. We also had a lemon meringue and the chocolate coconut cream pie, which was essentially a half and half with chocolate cream and the bottom and coconut cream on the top. Both had beautiful, moist meringues with nicely toasted tops. On top of good food, we had a great waitress who was super attentive and very patient and friendly. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and looking for some nostalgic, good southern comfort food.
