This is a cute little tiki bar. We came on a Sunday night about 7:30. It rests upstairs above another restaurant/bar. A host greets you and seats you. We sat at the bar seats facing the ocean. Even had a view of the luau at the hotel down the street. We had trouble with the service. The bartender eventually came and took our order and then the other waiter came by to take our order again and we told him the other lady already got us. We would have order another drink and food but nobody came back to us. We went to the bar to try and pay. Then the bartender went and cleared our table and another couple moved to our seats after they had gotten up to ask if somebody comes to take your order or if you order at the bar. There was confusion about order and or not enough workers for all the filled seats or what roles they had. I ordered the MISSIONARY'S DOWNFALL Silver rum, peach brandy, lime, honey, pineapple chunks, fresh mint. It was pretty good. It was blended too. Came in the cute fishy glass. Not too minty at all. TLDR - this restaurant is phenomenal. The setting is great and spacious with a nice view. The staff will become your best friends, and the food is great. This restaurant is a blessing in the area. Otherwise you'll be limited to street parking or other paid lots nearby. We found this place after doing an excursion and we decided to try this place given its great reviews. It has a great view into the water and it's very comfortable given it's open setting. The staff were some of my favorite people. Our waitress was funny, friendly, and checked up on us regularly. Lastly, the food. We ordered the street tacos, fried shrimp, and Hawaiian pulled pork burger. I also had a piña colada, which will always be good. The corn was the best. It was flavorful and came with chips. The pulled pork burger was also delicious. Interestingly, you have the option of white rice as a side and I'll never say no to a good bowl of rice - even if it feels slightly out of place. The fried shrimp was also good even though we weren't a fan of the breading. The bok choi also tasted funny - probably overcooked because it tasted a bit sour. We were offered to change it to something we'd like more, but we decided to live with our choices. First off, you can see the water since it's on the top floor of the building and it's so beautiful! Our server was also super friendly and made our night. Food itself comes out pretty fast within 15 minutes despite being fully booked and Christmas night. I got the duo bao and Hawaiian spicy chicken as my meat with a side of fries. The bread was soft, fluffy and I loved the chicken paired with the freshness of the cabbage slaw. Their fries were so well seasoned and addicting- a good combo of crisp without being burnt. Review as of May 2025 - They turned Alii Drive into a one way and added a few parking stalls along the side. I was lucky enough to get a stall down by the church and checked out the shops along Alii Drive. I was intrigued by the swings at Cheeky Tiki and decided to grab a drink. They have some good deals on their drinks, including $5 mimosas, which is what I got. Nothing too special about the drink itself, but the service here was excellent! The owner was super friendly and chatted with us. It was a super hot day in Kona and even offered to turn on the sprinklers for us.
