We were starving when we finally arrived at the resort. One of the employees said to try the on-site restaurant, and we were pretty happy with the decision. Our waitress was very busy! I'm sure she was the only one for the entire place, basically 8 tables, so it took her longer than normal to take our order and to bring us the tab. As she was the only server, it was understandable. My husband ordered a veggie burger; I ordered coconut shrimp. My husband thought the burger was decent, not overly wow, but he enjoyed it. The fries were delicious! My coconut shrimp was tasty and nice and hot. I could've had maybe 2 more, then I would've been super happy! A bit pricey for the portion sizes, but you definitely pay for convenience. With it being at the resort, it beats going anywhere. One thing to keep in mind: it's outside and by the pool. There were kids yelling and playing the entire time we were there, so conversation was out between that and the live music. However, if you have kids, you could always send them to the pool and still maintain proper supervision whilst eating a snack! read more

This restaurant is located inside the hotel we are staying at, so we expected it to be convenient and reliable during our trip. On our first night, we ordered drinks at the bar and had a great experience--the bartender was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service. Unfortunately, the next day was a completely different story. My sister and I sat down for lunch and waited between 20-30 minutes without ever being helped. The only interaction we had was when the server briefly stopped by to say, "I'll be right with you." After that, she never returned to take our order, check on us, or even offer water. We sat and waited until it was clear we were being ignored, and eventually we left without ordering anything. This was very disappointing, especially since the restaurant is tied to the hotel we are staying in. It feels unacceptable for guests to be treated this way. Because of this experience, I have no desire to return for food, and I won't even order drinks for the rest of our stay. It's unfortunate because the location is convenient, but the lack of basic service ruined it. read more

We absolutely love this restaurant. It's so convenient and the sunsets and music are so delightful. I just wish they would bring back their original menu from about six years ago. Oh my this was such a great place to come to have a drink and watch the sunset. This restaurant is located at the Kona Coast Resort where we stayed. It was really nice to be able to walk over to it from our condo. They do not have a special "Happy Hour" but we really enjoyed having a drink here. They have a full bar and offer drinks, wine, beer and hard seltzer. We so enjoyed the waitress and bartender and received great service. In the evenings, most nights, they had live music which made the whole experience top notch. In addition to coming here in the evenings, we had breakfast here one morning. They have a limited menu, but very tasty. The food was served hot and was good. The real magic here was the amazing sunset view, the nice music and the great drinks and service that we received. We finally flagged her down and she said kitchen was closed. I pointed out she took orders from 2 tables that came later, she went back and said she got them to let her take the order. This restaurant is located on the Kona Coast Resort property. They have upgraded it quite a bit since our last visit. However, each time we dined there, they only had one server and they doubled as the bartender sometimes. The food was fresh and served hot/cold. They had a smaller selection than the last time, but it was quality fare. We had the Ono fish and chips, the mushroom Swiss burger, the chicken cordon blue sandwich, chicken wings, papaya with yogurt and granola, stuffed French toast, fruit plate, bacon & eggs while we were there. If you ask me what the best thing about this place is I would have to say that if you are staying at the Kona Coast Resort is that it is convenient. The food is not remarkable, and the menu has shrunk. But it will fill you up, and the view from the patio is nice. So it you are going to be walking around shopping in town for several hours it's a good way to start the day. If you're looking for a spectacular meal you will have to search elsewhere. read more

Leaving a 1 star for the earful service by the waitress who refused to give us her name. But I got a photo, not the best quality. The food was good here but the service from her and the bar tender was unacceptable to any standard. It doesn't take much to be a decent human being but this lady was ignoring us, talking about us to the bar tender to where we could hear her and practically throwing our drinks at us as she brought them over. She was helping everyone around us that got there after us and when we put our order we waited and hour and a half and still nothing. We ended up leaving when we asked her if it was almost ready and her response rude and walked away to the bar tender and started pointing and laughing. The chimichanga was just ok for me. Without a good dose of gravy, it was just biscuit and potatoes. Description says scrambled eggs but didn't really get any sense of them. Came to listen to a friend play music we have been in Kona 9 years now and never knew this place existed, in the Kona coast resort that I have driven by 1000s of times but never noticed it there. I had a very nice burger with fries as my wife had a fish plate. All in all in was a good experience good service good food nice location. Full disclosure. This place is hard to find. It's inside a private resort. You have to sign in at the front gate to get in. You then have to find the pool. This place is part of the pool. The place is small with an island feel with views of the pool and ocean. If I stayed at this resort, I would probably be at this place a lot :). You can sit where ever you want. We were famished after a day at the volcano so we all ordered nearly the same thing. Service and quality of food are all good, not great but good. I did fall in love with the Kono Red Ale beer while I was on island. You need to try it. All of the taco's we had (fish, batter fish, chicken, and shrimp) were all good. I've had better, but very decent. The only negative quality we noted was that you can't get chips and salsa either as a pre snack or with your meal. You just get the taco's. Jon is the man. Talk about local Aloha love, you've got it. No need to venture out for breakfast when you have incredible choices, with a priceless view right here at the resort. We came here looking for Loco Moco and Jon recommended that I order the stuffed french toast. He also made sure we were always happy, had everything we needed, brought our food out promptly, and served us water right away. The stuffed french toast is to die for.
